This is Kaila and it's Fan Friday!
It's time for Fan Friday!
Craig and a few other people want to know, when are we going to go camping?
Well, I'm hoping soon...
Are you gonna get ugly?
I'm hoping soon!
I think Memphis is almost ready for her first camping trip.
Kevin wants to know, how much time our dogs spend out in the heat?
Our dogs are indoor dogs, so they actually do not spend that much time out here in the heat.
We bring them outside to play with them and let them go to the bathroom.
They get to play around in the yard when it's hot.
They don't spend a whole lot of time out here, because we don't want them to overheat.
Shelby wants to know, what is your opinion on the Furminator and would you use it?
We've actually done a few Furminator videos, which I'll put some links to down here somewhere.
I like the Furminator.
I think a lot of people that say they don't like it, have either never tried it or used it incorrectly.
There is an incorrect way and a correct way to use a Furminator.
If you are going to use a Furminator, just make sure you use it correctly.
Don't push down hard. You don't have to brush for a very long time.
You don't have to do it all that often.
Just five minutes a day.
Every day. Every other day.
That's enough!
Diana says, I have two male Sibes.
Have you trained yours to listen off leash?
I feel it may never happen for me.
I am the type of person that believes that there is no need and or reason for your dogs to be off leash
outside of a fenced in yard or a fenced in dog park.
I'm just one of those people that doesn't believe they need to be off leash.
So, I have worked with recall on mine just in case, but have I actually fully trained them to be off leash?
No. I don't ever want to let them off leash.
Sarah says, when bathing your Husky puppy, what kind of shampoo do you use?
Currently, I don't use any shampoo.
I just use lukewarm water and rub her down real good.
I don't want to use any shampoos on her to harm her fur while she's still young and growing so much.
Probably won't actually use any shampoos on her until she's at least six months old.
Just a personal preference, they do make all natural puppy shampoos that you can buy.
But like I said, I just choose not to use it.
For those of you that are going to say, why is Memphis not wearing her collar?
I take her collar off of her when I put her in the crate.
We actually just got home not long ago and I just haven't put it back on her yet today.
Go! Go! Go!
Rebecca says, when you feed Memphis, why did you put her bowl inside of another bowl?
I use a small bowl to feed her because I don't want her to eat too fast.
With that big bowl, she can eat too fast.
I set that small bowl inside of that big bowl because that big bowl has a rubber bottom
and she can't slide it around the floor as easily.
That's the only reason why.
Gabriela says, besides the park, what other activities can you do with your Husky?
Well, there's agility, there's sledding, there's hiking, there's biking, there's cane across.
There are a lot of different things you can do with your dog besides just taking them to the park.
Those are a few of them. Anybody have any other suggestions? Leave them down below.
What fun activities do you like to enjoy with your dog? Swimming? There's all kinds of things.
Aww! Look at the train! We can hear the train!
Oh well!
Frank says, when he takes his two year old Husky for a ride in the car, the dog whines and barks and whimpers and cries.
He rolls down all the windows and it still doesn't help.
Do I know of anything that can stop this?
Well, Shelby is a car crier.
Shelby likes to talk and whine and howl and cry as soon as we put her in the Jeep.
She's loud. It's annoying. She gets the other dogs going half the time.
She'll do this for about fifteen to twenty minutes straight.
The only thing that I've actually found that stops her, is if within those first few minutes,
if we just drive somewhere, let her get out on the leash, walk around and sniff a bunch of things,
she'll get back in the car and she'll be fine.
It's like the only thing she wanted was to smell something different because we're going somewhere
so I want to experience where we're going.
As soon as we seem to let her out and do that, then she's fine.
I honestly don't know why it works. I don't know if it will work for you.
But you can give it a try.
The other thing you can do is if it's something that is really bothering you,
there are all natural calming treats that you can give to your dogs that might help with the anxiety of the car ride.
So, those are my two suggestions.
Now, because of the fourth of July holiday last week, we missed Fan Friday.
Sorry about that.
So, this week we have a lot of mail. A lot of really cool stuff.
So now, we are going to get on to the mail.
In the mail today, we got a drawing and a letter from Tina.
Tina wants to know, what type of dog food do you recommend for large breed dogs?
Canada Day All Life Stages Large Breed Puppy.
That's what I recommend.
We got a letter and this awesome drawing of Oakley from Lynn.
That is really cool. She said she drew Oakley because she likes how calm she is.
That's a really good drawing.
We also got a letter from Samira and she says her favorite video is the Husky vs. Water Fountain.
That's one of my favorite videos too.
Elena sent us this letter with this cute little drawing.
She wants to know if we ever give our dogs any real bones from chicken leftovers.
No! Because when you cook chicken, the bones get brittle and they can splinter.
So, you don't want to give real chicken bones to your dogs after they are cooked.
Or before they are cooked for that matter.
LaKenna sent us a letter and wanted to draw a picture of our thumbnail which is actually Shelby's eye.
She said she couldn't, so she drew a human eye instead.
I think that's pretty cool.
One of the questions she said is, why Huskies?
Why not? Look at them! Look how cute they are!
Memphis is under the table.
FoxMonster19 sent us a letter with a picture of a Husky named Enya.
They may possibly be adopting from a shelter.
We got this drawing from Ethan in a letter.
Ethan wants to know, how many Huskies does it take to pull a sled?
Usually you need at least two if you have a small sled.
If you have a big sled, you need at least three.
We got this very colorful drawing from Lily.
We got this awesome drawing of Shelby from Imogen.
I don't know if I said that name right, but I tried.
Right there! Imogen!
We got a drawing and a letter from Nathan.
Nathan wants to know if he can email a Fan Friday intro to us.
Yes you can! Just email it to contactsnowdogs at gmail.com
We got a drawing of Memphis.
Shelby from somebody that calls themselves Shelby's number one fan.
They want to know if they improved since last time.
I would say yes!
We got a letter asking us to say happy birthday to Emily Davis
from Shelby and Oakley in Memphis.
She's in there chewing on a handler.
We also got a very colorful letter from Moulton.
I hope I said that name right.
We got drawings of all four girls from Grace.
We got another set of drawings of all four girls from Amanda.
One of each of the dogs.
Are you wrestling? Are they wrestling?
We got a drawing and a letter from YouTube user HuskyGirl4509.
Go check out her channel.
We got a letter with a cute little drawing from Lexi.
We got a drawing from Katie.
That's a print out, but this one is a drawing.
We got some drawings and a letter from Sarah.
Sarah wants to know where we get our antlers from.
We buy our antlers through the American Antler Dog Company.
You can buy them straight from our website at GoneToTheSnowDogs.com
Look! Four more pictures.
One of Memphis and one of Shiloh.
One of Oakley and one of Shelby from Salina.
We got some really cool colorings from Gold Gracie.
Again, one of each of the girls.
Including Memphis and one of an Alaskan Malamute.
She got these coloring pages from Tales of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue.
If you're looking to print some, that's where you can get some.
Last but not least, we got this awesome drawing of Memphis from Daniela.
I hope I said that right.
A bone for baby Memphis.
Good thing I have two extra of these.
I can give the other girls one too.
Right? Right?
Maybe later. Not now.
That's all we have for Fan Friday today you guys.
Thanks for watching! Thanks for subscribing!
If we didn't get to your question, you can be sure to leave it again next week.
We try to answer as many as we can.
If we answer them all, these videos will be forever long.
Hopefully, we will be doing a live show again real soon in the near future.
We're getting a new window installed in our living room.
It's a little bit chaotic in there right now.
Maybe after that's done, we'll be able to do a live show.
Thanks for watching! Thanks for subscribing!
We will see you on Monday!
Goodbye!
Bye!
