Alright guys! Today we are going to make an Easter themed treat.
We are going to make Easter themed stuffing for the Kongs.
For those of you that don't know what these are, I mentioned these a lot in our videos.
These are Kong toys and what you can do with them is you can make stuffing and put it inside of them.
I usually use peanut butter, yogurt, many different things.
But today we're going to make something special.
Stuff it in here, put it in the freezer and make it for the girls.
Where's Oakley? Oakley, we're going to make some treats.
Would you like to come help? I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!
And also for an added bit of fun, there will be a link in the video description
that you can click on that will take you to a giveaway.
We are going to be giving away one large Kong.
It'll probably either be a black one like this or a red one. I haven't decided yet.
But we're going to be doing a giveaway so you can sign up with the link in the video description.
Alright, so this is going to be super, super easy.
Okay, so basically the amount of ingredients I'm using,
I'm using to fill three Kongs because I have three dogs.
If you're doing it for only one dog, you can probably use about a quarter of what I'm using.
Like only use one egg, a little bit of cheese, a little bit of carrots, a little bit of everything.
But since Easter is coming and the Easter Bunny likes to leave lots of hard boiled eggs,
this will give you something to do with some of those eggs that you might not be eating.
You can share them with your dogs.
Okay, so the first thing you're going to want to do is kind of smash up
and cut up the eggs a little bit.
It'll make it easier when you go to put them in the Kong.
If you have an egg slicer, you can use that.
I don't have one, so I'm just going to use a fork.
Let's see what the girls think about eggs.
Here's an egg for Shelby.
Here's one for Oakley.
And one for Memphis.
I think they like them.
So you kind of want the eggs to look about like that.
Eggs are actually really good for a dog's coat to give to them every once in a while.
And if you don't have hard boiled eggs, you can always use scrambled eggs.
It works just the same.
Now because it's Easter time and these are Easter themed,
we're going to put some carrots in there, right?
Just like the Easter Bunny would eat.
There's some carrots.
Would you like to lick a carrot bowl?
I'm like, I'm not sure.
What about you? You want to lick a carrot bowl?
You're not sure either.
How about you?
You'll lick anything.
Oh yeah.
And then for fun, we're adding a little bit of cheese.
Stir it together a little bit.
Look good so far?
What do you think girls? Look good so far?
Smells good, huh?
Now we're going to add a little bit of Greek yogurt.
Yogurt's actually really good for dogs that have digestive upset.
What are you doing?
It'll help. It can help settle their bellies.
We use Greek yogurt because it's a little bit thicker than regular yogurt.
Plus supposedly it's better for you.
You don't have to use a lot.
I'm going to use about that much.
The thing about this recipe is, there's not a lot of measuring involved.
We'll use about that much.
Stir it together and see what you think.
When it's all said and done, that's about what it's going to look like.
Let's see what the girls think.
What do you want? Try it?
Whoa, is that delicious?
That was delicious.
Memphis, want to try?
Oh, good stuff.
Shelby, want to try?
Oh my, good stuff.
Oakley?
Oh, Memphis almost got your bite.
She got a little on her nose.
So that is about what the middle of your Kong stuffing is going to look like.
Now for the fun part.
For anybody that's going to ask why one of my Kongs is blue,
this is actually a puppy Kong that we got from Memphis when she was a baby.
Always make sure to wash your Kongs.
You can actually wash them in the dishwasher.
Here's a little tip I like to use anytime I do a Kong stuffing.
Especially if you're going to freeze it.
Take a little bit of peanut butter and just put it in the end.
That way if you're using, like this stuff isn't real liquidy,
but if you're using something that's more liquidy,
it'll help it from falling out the end.
Stop!
Just kind of corks it, see?
All right, so once you have your peanut butter corks on your Kongs,
you can go ahead and start filling them.
I also have a container I set them in after I fill them before I put them in the freezer.
You can use a spoon or you can use a fork.
Whatever is easy just to get the stuff down in there.
Sometimes using a fork is easy because you can kind of push it down in there
and then pull it off the fork and push it in a little bit more and pull it out.
If you end up with extra stuff, you can always put it in an airtight container.
Put it in your fridge and then after they eat these ones, you can freeze another one.
So that's about what it's going to look like.
And then I actually have little baby carrots just for fun.
I'm going to stick a little baby carrot in the end of it.
So that's about what they look like when they're done.
I put them in a container before I put them into the freezer
because sometimes some of the ones we make are a little bit more runny.
This is actually pretty thick so I'm not too worried about it falling out.
Now you don't have to freeze this.
You could give it to them just like this if you wanted to.
I choose to freeze them because it tends to last longer.
Kongs are awesome for dogs that have busy minds and need something to do.
They're awesome for helping them wear off some energy.
Who wants a bite?
Not me but it smells good.
Want a bite?
I knew you would.
Is that good stuff?
What do you think Oakley?
Want a bite?
Oh my goodness!
Is that good stuff?
Where are you Shelby?
Hey Shelby, want a bite?
Oh goodness!
So I ended up with about that much left.
I probably could have used three eggs instead of four.
So there we go.
Now we're going to put them in the freezer.
All right, they're frozen.
They all get one.
Who's first?
Who's first, huh?
Oh Shelby's first.
Give one to Shelby.
One for Shelby.
One for Oakley.
Oakley's like, can you just...
Will you hold it for me so I can...
Here bite that side.
There you go.
And one for Memphis.
You have to get off the couch.
Come on off the couch.
There you go.
You got it?
You got, you got...
You're gonna bite the carrot off?
Did you bite, bite the carrot?
Pull, pull Memphis, pull!
I lied, I'm gonna set it down.
There you go.
What do you think?
Is that good stuff?
Shelby's like, I want the carrot out of here,
because I'm not a real big fan of carrots.
What's Oakley think?
What do you think Oakley?
Is it good stuff?
Huh?
Is it good stuff?
You got, where did you get the carrot up first?
Well, that'll keep them busy for a while,
considering they're frozen.
See Shelby's the smartest.
She knows just how to hold it.
She's like, I put one foot here
and there you go.
I got it figured out.
Oh, she ate the carrot.
I didn't know she would actually eat the carrot.
She likes carrots in things,
but sometimes she doesn't like whole carrots.
You're gonna eat it?
You're making funny faces like you're gonna...
You don't want that part?
Huh?
You don't want that part?
Yes, I'm watching you eat that.
You're pretty funny.
What?
You're gonna have me help you?
I'll hold it over here.
You hold it over there.
Oh Memphis is figuring it out with her paw.
So there you go you guys.
Let us know if you make this fun recipe for your dogs
and pack their Kongs full of fun stuff.
This will keep the girls busy for a while.
