COLD WATER CHALLENGE Husky in the Lake?

My name is Jessica and I was nominated by Karen from Ojibwa Kennels on YouTube for the 2014 Cold Water Challenge. Ready Memphis? Let's go! You're not wet. You're not wet either. Are you guys nuts? Are you crazy? Really? You think we would jump in the freezing cold water? The water's like still 30 some degrees. I don't know 37 degrees. It's cold. It's cold in that water. Okay, so Ojibwa Kennels may have been crazy enough to jump in the cold water for the cold water challenge. But not us girls. No way. Instead, since we have to, we decided to donate $100 to the charity of our choice. And the charity that we chose is the Harry Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue. They are located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We actually just started a GoFundMe fundraiser page for them to help them build a snow dog shelter. They had a shelter where they were housing their dogs and it got damaged. I believe it was last year. So they've been saving money and working to build a new shelter. So we actually started a GoFundMe page. If you go to GoFundMe.com slash snow dog shelter there'll be a link down in the video description. You can click on to go to it. You can go make a donation. I know not everybody is able to make a donation but if you go click on that link anyway and at least share the campaign. We have set a goal to help raise ten thousand dollars for them. I don't know if we'll reach it but what's the harm in trying? Right? Say what's the harm in trying? I think we've actually already raised almost three hundred dollars which is pretty good. Including the one hundred dollars that we donated. So we did donate a hundred dollars to Harry Houdini Husky Rescue since we did not do the cold water challenge. Right? We didn't do the cold water challenge because we're not that crazy. We're not that crazy are we? And for those of you that are going to ask all of the money that goes to that campaign goes directly to Harry Houdini Husky Rescue. We don't see any of it. The checks get mailed directly to them from the GoFundMe page. So none of it comes to us. I had somebody asked me that the other day. I'm like nope we don't see any of that money. It goes straight to them. You can also go to the Harry Houdini Facebook page. I'll put a link to that down in the description. Also if you guys don't want to use the GoFundMe page to donate and you would rather mail a check or you would rather use PayPal there's a link on their Facebook page on how to do that so you can definitely go do that. So yeah instead of doing the crazy cold water challenge we decided to use it as the perfect opportunity to do something good for somebody else. Oh we did didn't we Shelby? We did! We just helped them raise some money a week or two ago. They actually have over 30 rescued sled dogs that were abandoned in the Upper Peninsula and a few of them needed some major medical treatment. They were looking to raise about four thousand dollars. One of them needed eye surgery. A couple of them needed some other things. So we helped them raise some money for that too. So maybe eventually we'll help them hit their goal and they'll be able to build their new snow dog shelter. And if that ever happens oh my goodness or maybe even before that happens we'll have to go up there and take a tour. One of these days when we go up to the UP we're gonna have to go visit Sherry and show you guys the Harry Houdini Husky Rescue. Who knows maybe we'll end up with another Husky. Some of you may remember from the past we helped do transport for a couple Huskies. That was the rescue we were helping out. Hi baby! That was the rescue we were helping out with transport. So anyway that's our fun video for today. Has anybody else been challenged to do the cold water challenge? Did you do it or did you donate? I challenge all of you to donate or at least go share that link that we posted. I know! Tell them Shelby! Will that make you happy? Who brought my shoe out here? Who brought my shoe out here? Thanks for watching! Thanks for subscribing! Stay positive! Dream big! I'll see you soon! Goodbye! Roll over, snow dog! Good girl, good girl! Come and enjoy the adventure! Come into our Tiberian world! Gone To The Snow Dogs
