DIY SWEET POTATO DOG TREATS | Snow Dogs Snacks 39 | Gluten Free Dog Treats

Alright! So, you guys asked us, if we could make some gluten-free vegetarian dog treats. We thought, you know what? That's a good challenge! Let's see, if we can do that! ♪ We're Gone To The Snow Dogs ♪ What you think Oakley? Think we can do it? Alright! This is what we're making! We're gonna make some dehydrated sweet potato treats for the dogs. Basically, all you're gonna need is a couple of sweet potatoes, some coconut oil, some cinnamon, a bowl, not necessarily a salad shooter, but something to cut them up and a pan to put them on. Let's show them, how it's done girls! So, like I said, this is actually a really, really simple recipe. It only needs three ingredients. What? You wanna try one of these? Let's see, if they like sweet potatoes first. Oh, you like some? You like some? Now, here comes the kicker. Will Shelby eat it? Shelby says... Oh! Oh! This will be a good treat then! If Shelby will eat it, you know it's good! So, the first thing you're gonna do, is you're gonna need to take your sweet potatoes. I cut mine off, cause I'm using my salad shooter to cut them up. You can either slice them up really thin or you can use a salad shooter, which is actually what we're gonna do. You need to cut them all up and put them into a bowl. Okay! Before you do that, preheat your oven to 250F. If you have a food dehydrator, you can use that. But, since I know a lot of people don't, I'm gonna give the instructions on how to do it in the oven. If you have a food dehydrator, you basically do the same thing as we're doing here, except you use a dehydrator. Now, you see why I'm using a salad shooter. I love this thing! I will put an affiliate link to Amazon, where I got my salad shooter. I love it! What? Would you like another one? Memphis is like... Oh! I would! Would you like another one? No! No! No! Somebody else has to get it. Shelby, do you wanna try another one? Shelby's like, I kinda do! I kinda do like this, you guys! That's about the thickness they turn out. That's about how thick you want them. Now, the next thing we're gonna do... It really is optional. If you guys don't have coconut oil, you don't have to do this. But, coconut oil is good for dogs. What we're gonna do is, we're gonna take a little bit of coconut oil. We're gonna drizzle it on here and we're kinda just gonna make sure that they all get a little coated. We've taken our coconut oil and heated it up just a little bit. Now, we're gonna drizzle it. Ready Memphis? I think she wants to try that. What you guys think? Now, we're just kinda gonna stir it together a little bit. Make sure they all get coated. You don't have to stir hard. Oil spreads pretty easy. Now, we're gonna take our pan and we're gonna start laying these out. You'll probably need more than one pan. Or, you can just use one sweet potato if you want to. We're gonna lay them all out. You don't want them on top of each other. You like all this coconut oil? How about you Shelby? There you go! Alright, so now we have them all laid out on a cookie sheet. We're gonna sprinkle them with just a little bit of cinnamon. This is about what they're gonna look like. Now, we're gonna pop them in the oven. Probably for about two and a half to four hours. Depending on how thick you cut your sweet potatoes. Basically, what we're doing is we're dehydrating them. We want to draw all that moisture out of there. One of the coolest things about these treats... I know you guys ask this every treat I make. Are they safe for people? You can eat them if you want to. They're just dehydrated sweet potatoes. Alright, so they are done! They're kind of like chips. They're a little bit crunchy. I see a little nose peeking out of the corner. I think somebody wants to try one. Get down! Okay, fine! You got it? Oh my! Even Shelby wanted one! How about you Memphis? There you go! What you think Oakley? Oakley's like, can I have another one of those? You want one more? There you go! Memphis got that one. Shelby was still chewing. There you go! I think those are winners. Pretty easy, simple treat. Easy to make, didn't take too long. Ours actually took two and a half hours. So, not too bad. You had one and you had one and you had one. Somebody else wants one. Want to try one? Memphis, you already had one. What did you make? Memphis is like, they're really good daddy.
