I'm Hailey and this is Willow, the Husky Loud Puppy.
Yeah!
It's time for...
Fan Friday!
For those of you that might be new to the Pawdience,
Fan Friday is a video where we answer random questions submitted by you guys.
So, let's get to some questions!
First question comes from Delaney Hoey from Instagram.
Why do you think the girls like your new floor more than the old floor?
For those of you that don't know...
We put in new floors at our house.
We put in Pergo Outlast flooring in our home.
We will be doing a full in-depth review video.
Oakley has really been enjoying laying in a certain spot on the floor.
Do I know why?
Not really!
I do notice that this floor actually tends to like stay...
As silly as it is, it like stays warm.
Like when the dogs are laying on the floor and they get up,
you can actually feel the heat still in the floor.
So, I'm wondering if maybe that's why she likes it?
But, I don't know!
They like them because they're awesome!
We have the Pergo Outlast flooring in the pewter oak.
I will actually put some links down in the video description of this video
for more information on the flooring we chose.
Eventually, we will do a full in-depth flooring review for you guys.
Madison Peckpee wants to know,
I know Memphis is from a breeder, but how did you get Oakley and Shelby?
I got Shelby from a breeder.
Not a very good breeder.
I actually got her from a breeder before I knew a lot about responsible breeding and things like that.
Oakley, we actually rescued.
Actually, we found her through Craigslist from a girl that was re-homing her.
If you want to know more about the stories of how we got each dog,
you can check out their stories at GoneToTheSnowDogs.com
Noah Gastrid, I know I said that name wrong, wants to know,
I have a Husky puppy from a reputable breeder who's been breeding for over thirty years.
My Husky is not neutered and he won't be because his breeder would like to breed him in the future.
What is your opinion on this?
That's really hard to say.
Is there a reason that they want to breed that dog?
Are it's parents champions?
Do they have good bloodlines, OFA and certifications?
If it's a genetically sound dog, I probably could understand why,
but I know a lot of times most reputable breeders breed the dogs that have champion bloodlines.
They really uphold the breed standard and they're doing it to better the breed.
So, I don't know. I would have to know more information before I could form an opinion on that.
It seems like every once in a while for Fan Friday, I get the same question over and over and over in the comments.
This week, it tended to be a question I get every week.
How do I stop my puppy from biting?
Some of you guys say, I've tried the loud ouch method. It doesn't work.
Some of you have actually wrote that you've tried shaking your dog or spanking him or popping him in the nose.
Don't do that. Just don't do that.
If you really have a problem with your dog biting and you can't figure out a way to make them stop biting,
the method I use is the loud ouch and ignore method.
That has been what has worked for us for as long as I've had dogs.
Basically, what you do is when they bite you, you kind of yell,
ouch, really loud, turn your back to the dog and ignore them.
Do not play with them. Do not pet them. Do not acknowledge that they're there.
They're going to jump around and they're going to act crazy because they're going to be a little bit hyped up because they think they're playing.
Until they calm down.
Usually with our dogs, what I wanted them to do was just sit down.
Once they sat down and kind of stopped moving, then you would kind of pet the dog.
You didn't want to turn to the dog and be like, Oh, good dog, good dog.
Cause as soon as you start doing that, you're amping up all that excitement in that puppy again.
So you kind of just turn around when they calm down and just pet them so that, you know,
they know you're acknowledging that they're there.
But if you are having that many problems with your puppy biting, contact a professional trainer.
Get in a puppy class now because nothing I'm going to tell you is going to help.
Cause you're already past that point. You're already, if you've tried what I've done, you know,
you can look up a million things on the internet and you can try them all.
But most of you that are writing to me and asking about that are writing a lot of things that you shouldn't be doing that you've tried doing.
Contact a trainer. Sometimes it'll be the best thing you ever did.
TJP354 wants to know, any tips on biking with your dog?
Do I need to buy all the things that come with biking with your dogs? Cables, noodle thing, etc.
There's a couple different ways you can bike with your dog. You can bike-jor.
And yes, then you would want the noodle, you would want a bike-joring line, a bike-joring bungee line,
and probably an urban mushing harness.
Or you can also use a springer. I'll actually link a video up in the cards on how to bike with your Husky,
which will work for pretty much any dog, but it's a video we did quite a while back about that.
We got some mail! We got some mail in our destroyed living room.
If you watch our vlogs, then you've seen some of this. If not, you're actually getting a little preview.
We're redoing our living room and we got new floors. Updates on that soon.
But right now, we're getting to late night mail.
We got a letter and a drawing from Aria.
And we got some drawings from Terry. Memphis came to check out the mail.
Oakley's over here napping in her kennel. She's happy I put it back in her spot.
And we got a letter and a drawing from Lily.
We got a letter from Delta 101 and they want to know, how can I stop my dog from barking?
My dog barks at my neighbor's dog and deer in the backyard.
All my doors in my house are glass. How can I stop her from barking?
Bring her inside?
That would probably help.
We got a birthday card for Memphis from Angelina with a couple of questions.
One of them was, how many times a day should I feed my puppy?
Probably, I would say three times a day. We actually feed our dogs three times a day.
Even when they were puppies.
Another question she had was, what is the most important thing you should know when having a dog?
Uh, patience.
Definitely, patience.
Because dogs will try your patience. Won't you?
You'll get into things and you'll do bad things and you'll drive us crazy sometimes.
Yeah, I know you will. You would drive us crazy sometimes.
And we got some drawings from Jocelyn.
And we got a beautiful story from Ava.
And a letter and some drawings from Annabelle.
