Well, hello Pawdience! Today, we're going to talk to you about how to groom a Husky!
♪ We're Gone To The Snow Dogs ♪
So, a question we get asked all the time on this channel is, how do you groom your dogs?
I'm going to show you the tools I use to groom our dogs.
Alright! Memphis is showing you our adjustable grooming table. This is our table.
One of the best things I have invested in, since I have three Huskies, is a grooming table, a grooming arm and this blower.
This is an Air Force Commander Metro Vac Blower. Best thing I've ever bought with having three Huskies.
I will put Amazon affiliate links to all of the stuff I'm going to show you today.
Memphis is like, are we going to play with the blower? Because I would totally do that!
But, this is basically my grooming station. I actually, when I'm grooming Oakley, I leave it against the wall there, because it gives her some comfort.
When I'm grooming the rest of the dogs, I pull it back, so I can walk around them.
You want down? OK! You're good! Go ahead! Get down! Go on! There you go!
So, the table and the blower are not the only things I use when grooming the dogs.
I also have an arsenal of brushes and combs and other things that I also use.
The blower is really good at getting all that loose hair out, but it's not the only thing you need.
Memphis is going crazy!
Here's my basket of tools. I have a slicker brush. This is nice for getting their top coat to be nice and shiny.
I have a Furminator, which yes, I do still use the Furminator.
I use the blower more, but I do still use the Furminator and no, this does not cut your dog's hair.
If used properly, these are a very good tool to have, if you have a double coated dog.
This is probably, out of all of my brushes, my favorite brush is this undercoat rake.
This is actually a double undercoat rake.
This is the same thing, it's just for longer.
This gets more fur out of Oakley than anything else.
This is a shedding rake. It looks like it has little blades on it, kind of.
It works really good. This is actually a horse brush, but it works really good when the dogs are shedding really bad
to help pull that undercoat out.
This is another undercoat rake. This one is shorter.
Then, this is what they call a finishing comb.
When you're all done blowing out their coat and you're all done using all your other brushes,
use a finishing comb and it kind of fluffs out their fur a little bit and makes them look beautiful.
Now that you guys have seen all the tools that we use when we groom our dogs,
I'm going to show you some clips that were taken by my good friend Mike from Let's Press Record
that show just what happens when you use a blower on a Husky that's blowing their coat.
