DOG SLEDDING ADVENTURE | Dog Vlog | Mini Iditarod

What? What girls? What you want to do? Do you want to go hike, hike, hike? Do you want to go sledding? I think, everybody's excited! Do you want to go sledding? Do you? Alright guys! We're gonna take the dogs dog sledding! What? Tell us! Want to go dog sledding? Want to go hike, hike, hike? Hike, hike, hike, hike, hike, hike! They both look at the door! Ok! Alright! Oakley's like, I'm excited! I just don't show it like they do! Oh! Now, she's excited! She's like, oh! The door? Well, I like the door! I like going out there! Oh! I get to go out there? Ok! Let's go! Jamie's loading the sled on top of the jeep! All the dogs are in the jeep! She's gonna tie it down on the roof! So, our snow is very packy and it is just barely starting to rain, so this may be one of the last runs of the year! We figured, we better go do it! It's still pretty cold out, but it's just above freezing, so we're trying to get out here early and get this done! Get the girls on another run! Alright! Can we get in? Here's the very typical Shelby wants to ride up front. Shelby always wants to ride shotgun, so does Memphis, but Shelby usually gets it and curls right up. You can't drive though, honey! You can't drive! We're going! Miss Oakley's here too! We're going sledding! Alright! So, Jamie's got all the girls ready. The sled's all hooked up. We've got the claw break down to help hold it, cause they're already ready to pull. Are you girls ready? Anybody that doesn't think Huskies want to pull, they just have to actually watch them. You better catch that sled! Nope! It's not frozen ground yet! Nope! Here! Let me stand here! Alright! Okay! Well... The question is, is the musher ready? No! I need to... Nope! I got to grab the other camera real quick! So, you hold the dogs and I'll put this down! Wait! I think we're ready! Are you ready girls? They're like, we're going to slow down a little bit! Good girls! You guys can see, the trail is starting to melt in the middle already. The snow is kind of sticky, which makes it a little bit harder for them to pull the sled like they normally do. But, they're doing alright! Oh! Stay out of there Shelby! Shelby! Trail! Shelby's like, I want over here! You got to stay on the trail honey! When they do that, I kind of got to lean the sled and pull it towards them. Keep them on the trail. They're like, the snow is super sticky guys! So, this snow like this, makes it a little bit harder for them to pull because the sled has a little more resistance. We only do about a mile because that's about all Oakley can do. Well, she can probably go further but we don't want to push her any further because we don't want her to hurt herself. There's daddy! There's you! Bumps in the trail! There's you! Good girls! Good job! Shelby's like, we're here! I can eat snow now! Hi daddy! See, this is... The trail up here where we normally go is more like this. So, Jamie drove up here a little bit to make it so we didn't have to run through that. It was pretty uh pretty melted back there too But they did pretty good So I was like, oh, this is the best my favorite part getting to the end and rolling in the snow Oh, hey you what you gonna do feeling in a weekend kind of mood don't even try staying at home I know you're a bad girl trying to be good looking so hot looking so fine, baby for the night I want you to be mine. We're going for a ride Oh, we're going for a ride So won't you come on out with me forever young and free So won't you come on out with me? There's no place i'd rather be Well, they did pretty good out and back you're gonna put her in first I'm gonna hold her while I get another one. Oh good plan I gotta see shelby's like oh do it. Shelby. No, go ahead. I was gonna say do it roll around. We don't mind All right, let me help you with dogs real quick, okay Oh man hook her here. Yep, you can do that. Okay She is unhooked. All right Hopefully that's not the last time but it might be the last time we get to go sledding this year We'll still be biking. Yeah. Yeah. Bye daddy. See you later Shelby you hold the sled there. Okay line out good girl. Stay right there. Good job. Good job So a lot of people assume that when it comes to dog sledding It's basically just the dogs pulling you on the sled I don't know how well it shows in the camera But a lot of the times you're also kicking the sled and pushing the sled and trying to help them get up hills and it's A lot of work on everybody not just the dogs It can be exhausting It's a lot of fun though. It's a great way to bond with your dogs and not just huskies can go dog sledding There are other dogs that can do it, too So it's just a fun activity. We're hoping this isn't the last time this year Maybe it'll get cold enough again, but that snow is definitely It might snow again, it might rain and if it's cold enough, maybe it will The snow is definitely very sticky. There was a lot of resistance. Yeah. Yeah, but they did good I'll have to check them out. See if they're in here sleeping How'd you do girls? Shelby's like i'm already laying in my spot Memphis is still excited and Oakley's kind of like i'm pretty excited Hi, baby. Yeah, pretty good. You did good sledding girls.
