Honda VFR800 Crossrunner rear wheel bearing replacement
2017 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner (RC94)
~90000km, had very light play on the rear wheel, decided to replace as it's not as convenient a field repair due to the single sided swing arm.
This process should be pretty much the same for all Crossrunners, VFR750, VFR800 and CB1000R with the single sided swingarm, but part numbers and torque values might/will be different.
It's not a difficult job, or at least it shouldn't be, but in my case the collar and sprocket hub were stuck to the rear axle due to corrosion, so this took a good amount of effort to remove, but I was able to reuse them without any issues after some cleaning. If everything comes apart nicely you should be able to do this in less than 2 hours (probably less than 1 if you've done it before)
I would recommend to replace the bearing holder rather than the individual bearings and seals, there's not a huge difference in cost, but it does save a significant amount of time and risk of damaging the bearings when installing them.
