Elinor gets a strawberry.
She chews it. She's like, I don't know, Kira's like, I love it. It's great. Memphis, you gonna do it again?
Alright!
Strawberries!
Guess what we're doing today!
You can tell the dogs are already like, okay, give me all the things. All the things, please.
So today you guys, we are gonna make some rainbow popsicles for the dogs.
In the proper rainbow color this time, but with five colors instead of six.
Some of you noticed in the rainbow birthday cake we made for Memphis, the rainbow wasn't necessarily in the right rainbow order.
But it was still beautiful and we didn't care.
Memphis is like, my cake was adorable and I didn't care.
So, we're gonna go ahead and get this started.
As always, I will put some Amazon affiliate links to some of the things we're using in today's video down in the video description below.
You want a strawberry, Kira?
She's like, yes, I would like to try this.
So, this recipe is gonna take a little bit of time.
Because basically what we have to do is, we have to mix all this stuff with a little bit of water and then freeze one layer at a time.
So, this is a little bit of a time consuming recipe.
So, because of that, we're gonna go ahead and get started.
What you doing dad?
So, the first thing we're gonna do, we're gonna start with the red and for red we're using strawberries.
So, we're gonna cut the ends off the strawberries.
You're gonna want about a half a cup of each of the items we're using.
So, we're gonna have a half a cup of strawberries and we're gonna put it right in there.
What?
You get a strawberry?
Will Memphis eat it?
Will she eat it?
Oh, sometimes she eats the strawberry, sometimes she doesn't.
So, we're gonna get a half a cup of strawberries cut up and ready and then we'll show you the next step.
Oh man, you're all over me.
This is amazing.
This is the favorite part of my day ever.
They're like, hey can we have another strawberry please?
Let's just try that one more time.
Let's see, Eleanor gets a strawberry.
She's like, I don't know.
Kira's like, I love it, it's great.
Memphis, you gonna do it again?
Alright, strawberries!
It's strawberry time.
So, you can see here, we got about a half a cup of strawberries.
We didn't smash them down too much.
Now, I'm gonna hand this to Jamie and he's gonna fill it to one cup with water.
So, now we have our strawberries and a little bit of water and we're gonna take it and put it in here
and we're gonna blend it in the NutriBullet.
Basically, we're making like a strawberry water juice.
That's next.
Kira's like, I'll just drink that strawberry water.
You probably would.
She's like, let me just taste it.
Let me make sure it's okay.
Let me taste it.
We totally blend it.
Okay, here we go.
We're gonna mix it.
Eleanor, you wanna step on it?
You wanna put your paw on it and push down?
Oh yeah, there you go.
All you gotta do is push down.
I don't know if I can do it with one hand.
Let's mix it.
They're like, whoa, what did you make?
We made the first color.
That's what we made.
So, what we're gonna do now is we're gonna pour each of them into their own little dish.
Pour it in there and then we're gonna stick it in the fridge.
Part of the reason is, you can see it's a little bit foamy.
We're gonna let it settle while we mix all the rest of the colors.
So for the orange color, we are going to be using pumpkin.
And make sure you get the pure pumpkin.
You could also use sweet potatoes or carrots for the orange.
But we're gonna use pumpkin.
So we got a half a cup of pumpkin.
Now we're gonna add a half a cup of water.
But first...
I guess Kira, you're first.
Oh man.
Now it's on.
You know it's on.
Is that good?
Look at Memphis, you're such an angel.
You are. Where are you Memphis?
She's like, can I have a bite?
Here, you get tricked over there.
Yeah!
Good stuff!
And now we're gonna repeat the process.
We're gonna pour this into our little Nutribullet mixer.
Which by the way, if you don't have a Nutribullet, you can use a blender for this or a food processor.
It will all work.
And we're gonna mix it together.
Gotta clean them dishes.
So, water.
Yeah, will you clean that? Here, get that one.
Yeah, you're right.
So now we got this in here.
Now the pumpkin does not need to be pureed as much.
So we're only gonna do it for a second.
And it will be done.
We got more soap and water happening over here.
And now we have our beautiful orange color.
You cannot eat all of the filling.
We gotta make popsicles.
Oh man.
This is the greatest.
You got it all over your face.
Oh, that's too cute.
Look at it.
It's everywhere.
Kira's like, I'm smart about it.
I'll just lick the edges.
You wanna go face deep?
She's like, not really.
She's like, I'm smart too. I'll just get it off the top.
It's the longest tongue ever.
Okay, next color.
Yellow.
We're gonna use a banana.
Which isn't gonna be super yellow, but it'll be yellow enough.
Yeah.
Yellow enough.
So we're gonna go ahead and peel this and use one whole banana.
That'll be pretty much good enough.
So because the banana is much more white than yellow in the middle,
we're actually gonna take a little teaspoon of pumpkin and add it to it as well.
So it'll give it a little more yellow color.
So now we have one banana.
We're gonna add the water to this.
We got a little bit of pumpkin in there.
But of course, we saved a little piece of banana.
Who's gonna eat it?
You aren't gonna eat it.
It's gone.
Drool is everywhere.
Will you eat it?
Wait, look at her.
She's like, uh, no.
No.
Did she spit it out?
Yeah.
She did, didn't she?
Oh, maybe she ate it.
She ate it?
All right, Memphis.
Here, you try.
Memphis, give a nana.
Memphis is like, I love nanas.
Nana's gone.
Nanas are great.
I'm gonna give you this.
You can fill that up to one full cup of water.
And then repeat the process.
Nanas, water, and mix.
So it's a pastel-y yellow.
We didn't want to make it too orange, but I think that'll work.
I think that'll work for yellow.
If you guys want it more yellow, you can always add food coloring.
We're not adding food coloring this time around.
This is fine.
The next color we are going to be doing is green.
And Memphis, it's your favorite thing.
Green beans.
So I'm using canned green beans.
These are no salt added.
And I don't know if you guys know this, but Memphis absolutely loves green beans.
You can use fresh green beans.
You can use canned green beans.
You can also use spinach.
There's a lot of different things you can use for green.
So we have our green beans and water.
And again, we're going to mix it.
But Memphis is like, dad, I'm first on this one.
Because green beans is my favorite.
I love green beans.
She likes fresh green beans.
She likes canned green beans.
Kira's not too sure.
I don't know if Elinor's ever had a green bean.
Yeah, Kira's not too sure.
She's like, mmm.
She's like, I'll lay on the table.
What you think, y'all?
You want another one?
Alright, everybody should get one more.
Alright, it's a green bean.
Cause look at how cute you are.
Alright, you try first.
She's like, mmm.
I don't know how I feel about it.
Memphis is like, excuse me.
I need a green bean.
Yeah, we want to see Memphis.
Give me that green bean.
Yeah, she loves green beans.
Thanks for missing my finger.
Kira's like, okay, give it to me.
I don't know how you feel about that.
Yeah, I don't know if she likes them or not.
But she's going to eat them cause everybody else is here.
We're going to go ahead and blend this up.
And time to blend it.
I feel like we're making baby food.
I know, this is gross.
The dogs are like, no, you're making doggy food.
Get it right.
So, we got the green.
We're going to pour it in a little dish and it's going to go in the fridge like the rest of them.
Here's a dish for you.
Hey, thanks.
The dogs are like, oh, it doesn't look just like baby food.
Definitely green.
Memphis is like, do I get to lick it?
Yes.
Oh, all three at once?
No, I don't know.
There's not as much stuff on there.
No.
Kira's like, that's okay.
Kira really likes it.
Memphis is like, I get it.
It's great.
Memphis figured out she can fit her whole face in it.
She's like, whoa, I can fit my whole face in it.
She's great.
I love green beans.
Oh, yeah, good stuff.
And last but not least, the purplish, bluish color.
Because purple and blue is very hard to make when you're using natural ingredients.
Blueberries.
Would you like to give the dogs a blueberry?
So, we're going to need...
You can give yourself one too.
Look, Kira's like, when is it going in my mouth?
Do you like that?
Blueberries?
Okay.
She likes blueberries.
Don't push Memphis off the table.
Try a blueberry.
She's like, I got to check that.
I don't know about myself.
How about you Memphis?
Memphis might not eat the blueberry.
Memphis, right here.
She's like, a blueberry?
I ate it.
It's gone.
She ate it.
Good girl.
So, we're going to do like everything else.
A half a cup of blueberries and then fill it up to one cup with water.
Yeah, blueberries.
Blueberries.
Oh, that time around is better?
Yeah?
That's good stuff.
And time to mix the blueberries.
You want to put your paw on it this time?
She's like, no thanks.
Are you going to try it?
Do it.
Should.
Try it.
Tell us if it's good.
Kira's like, yeah, we need your review.
Yeah?
Okay, that's like blueberry juice.
That's what we made.
It's blueberry juice.
Very sweet.
So, it definitely turned out a really nice purple-y color.
It's really purple.
Okay, so we are going to start with the red.
But, I want to explain to you guys real quick what we're doing.
So, these are our little popsicles.
They're about this size.
And we already figured it out that with five colors, it's a little bit less than an eighth of a cup in each one.
Now, because we're doing these in a bunch of different colors, we have to put some in and freeze it.
Put some in and freeze it.
So, that's what you're going to see us doing next.
And when we get to the last two colors, we're going to use some dog treats as the stick.
So, the entire thing is going to be edible.
I think our colors turned out pretty good.
Now, as I said, we're not going to put all these in at the same time.
We're going to do a layer.
Let it freeze for an hour.
Layer.
Let it freeze.
And so on.
And like I said, you got about an eighth of a cup.
A little bit less than an eighth of a cup.
Pour it in there.
So, you can see here, it's just a little bit less than an eighth of a cup.
And then, we're going to go ahead and pour it in.
And if you get any on the sides, show them how you can tap it down.
You can tap it down.
And then, that will help it settle.
You can put your finger if you need to.
And then, we're going to set it back in here.
It's about enough.
Yep.
And freeze it for an hour.
And then, do the next one.
So, the red is frozen.
Well, the pinkish red is frozen.
And now, we're going to go ahead and do the orange.
We're using a little bit different method for the orange this time.
Because it's so much thicker.
And we're going to put, again, about an ounce.
About an eighth of a cup in there.
And then, freeze it again for an hour.
In another hour, time to add the next layer.
The banana is not super yellow, but it's yellow enough.
Pour it in.
Put it back in the freezer.
Two layers left.
We're down to the green.
So, we're going to scoop some of the green layer in here.
Now, we're actually...
The girls are like, we're still doing this?
Yeah, we're still doing this.
We're actually going to let the green freeze for about a half an hour.
And then, we're going to stick the sticks in it.
So, let me show you what we're going to use for sticks.
So, we're going to attempt to use the small sized old mother Hubbard treats.
But, first we're going to fill the green.
Let it freeze for about half an hour.
And then, try to set the sticks in there.
Think we can do this?
I think we can.
I hope so.
What do you think? Think we can do this?
Alright, let's fill the green.
I mean, they are looking pretty cool.
Let's give them a preview.
They are looking pretty cool.
Alright, green is going in.
I don't know.
I would say, probably about that much.
Almost half as much, because when we push in the treat, it's going to...
It's going to displace it a little bit.
So, when you go to do that layer, if you do it like we're doing it, put about half as much in.
Hopefully, there will be enough in there to make that treat stick.
I know. I was just thinking that.
So, remember how we said we were going to put it in and stick the sticks in?
We left it in too long.
Oops!
So, we're going to...
Yeah, we still have enough space.
So, we're going to try it again.
We're going to go ahead and do the purple layer.
Put it in the freezer for about fifteen minutes to half an hour.
And then, stick the sticks in it.
That's the perfect color.
Yeah, that is the perfect color.
Alright, they've been in the freezer for about twenty minutes.
Oh, it went in.
Yep.
Okay, I think it's good.
I think we did it right this time.
So, we're going to slowly put these in.
Yep.
It's a little low.
It should hold up just right.
So, they held up pretty good like that.
Just to be sure, we put a couple of pieces of tape across here.
And now, we're going to put them back in the freezer and let them freeze overnight.
And once that is all done, the dogs are going to be able to try them.
And I felt like this was a good time to remind you guys that this is a treat.
This is not a meal replacement.
At the end of this video and down in the video description below,
there will be some links to a bunch of our other treat videos that you guys should definitely go check out.
And as always you guys, if there's anything in here that you don't feel comfortable feeding to your dogs,
you don't have to.
You can substitute things out as you like.
So now, it's time to wait for everything to get frozen.
Eleanor is like, I don't have patience.
Can I find some snacks please?
Maybe there are snacks over here.
I would like some.
Alright! We'll check back shortly when everything is frozen.
So, after letting each one freeze and then letting them freeze overnight...
I think they look pretty good.
They're done. Pull one out.
I mean, the sticks are...
The sticks were... Look at that!
Okay, that's pretty perfect.
So now, we're going to let the dogs try them one at a time.
Outside, because it's going to be a messy treat.
It's a little windy out here today.
Are you ready to try your first ever popsicle?
Are you ready to try this?
She's like, yeah! I would totally like to try it.
Okay, ready?
I'm going to hold it.
And you, go ahead.
Yeah!
Is that good stuff?
Whoa!
Whoa! It's a popsicle!
It's a popsicle!
You never had a popsicle before.
She's like, oh man!
This is brand new.
I don't know how I feel about this.
Alright, I'll give you a minute to eat.
There you go! Get those nibbles in.
She's like, oh it's got a stick. I would eat the stick first.
You can't eat the stick first? That's cheating!
Alright, here I'm giving it to you. Here you go.
Do whatever you want with it.
She's like, I'm going to eat the stick first.
That's not how you're supposed to do it ma'am.
She's like, mmm the stick was delicious.
Oh man!
Your turn!
What if I hold it for you?
Like I did for her.
There you go!
You can lick it. You can bite at it.
Yeah! I was going to say, you know what this is.
She's like, put it down on the ground so I can eat it.
You want to eat the stick first too?
She's like, yeah the stick is the best part.
No, the stick is for the last part.
Here, eat this part.
Okay, here you go. I'm going to give it to you.
You got it. Oh, you dropped it.
And you got it.
She's like, I'm going to eat the stick first.
You've had popsicles before, so you know how to do this.
She's like, you eat the stick and then you
munch all the icy parts.
Kira liked all the flavors, except the green bean.
She's like, no. Don't like that green one.
No thank you.
Are you ready for your popsicle?
You sure look ready.
Alright. No, you can't have the stick first.
You got to try the frozen part.
She's like, mmm.
Okay, just give me the whole thing.
Do you want the whole thing? Here you go.
Oh, that's good stuff. All the flavors together.
Is that good?
Here you go. I'm giving it to you.
Take it. Do whatever you want with it. It's yours.
Eat it however
your little heart desires.
She's like, just like the other dogs,
I would like stick first, please.
Oh, you're going to lay down and eat though.
You're like, I'm going to work
at this. I'm going to eat the stick
first.
I mean, those are your favorite treats.
I can't blame you for that.
You're going to dye your lips all blue
from eating the blueberry end first.
The good stuff? How fast are you going to get it apart
compared to what Kira did? Kira figured it out
real quick that she could just chomp it.
Oh, there's the chomps. You got it.
You got the whole blueberry part.
I think she's pretty happy with this.
So, Eleanor had a hard time getting hers apart.
So, we broke it apart for her so she could
actually try it. What do you think, ma'am?
She's like, oh, this is much easier to eat.
First popsicle will make it a little easier
for you. You can pick and choose whatever
flavors you want.
It's like, oh yeah, this is all good stuff.
Now, everybody is out here to check to see
who left what where.
Did you find anything good? Kira's like, I'm looking.
Memphis is looking.
I feel like we're Easter egg hunting. You guys are looking
for all the leftover pieces.
Needless to say, I think they all
really enjoyed this. As always you guys,
