We've Never Done This on a Ford Truck Before (67 F100 Build)
Spencer walks you through this 67 F100 build update — a multi-year project with a charcoal BASF paint job that has a trick we've never done on a Ford truck before. A customer-requested blue pinstripe along the bottom of the body adds a subtle two-tone effect that completely changes the look of this bumpside.
The paint itself is a smoky charcoal with pearl that shifts depending on the light, and the blue pinstripe ties into matching Wilwood calipers, Ranger badge accents, and Ford hood lettering. Everything coordinated without going overboard — that was the customer's vision, and it came out exactly right.
Under the hood sits a Gen 4 Illuminator Coyote with a 3.0L Whipple supercharger, making roughly 800 horsepower at the crank. All the supporting hardware is here — Wizard aluminum radiator, dual Spal brushless fans, Wilwood brakes with a Tough Stuff booster dialed in to the hundredths for pedal feel. Spencer breaks down the full engine bay and explains why the details matter on a build like this.
All of the exterior trim has been Cerakoted in a complementary gray — grill, mirrors, door handles, bed strips. Spencer explains why Cerakote over powder coat, especially on parts that need to be reassembled with fasteners. The truck is sitting on Shot Drift Concave wheels, also Cerakoted to match.
This one rides on our FFG Sport chassis — a Level 2 performance coilover setup with RideTech coilovers. Same platform as the GT500-swapped F100 we built. It's lowered, it handles, and if the customer wanted to take it to a track day or autocross, it's ready.
Interior is still in progress — Dakota Digital RTX gauges, RetroSound head unit, and AC controls are in. Full upholstery and a custom wood bed are up next. More on that soon.
