Westminster Dog Show Kicks Off 150th Edition

The Westminster Kennel Club is celebrating its 150th show this year.

Originally established in 1877 after a group of hunters met at a Manhattan hotel to compare their sporting dogs, the competition has evolved into a more inclusive international spectacle featuring thousands of canines from every walk of life.

The 150th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show began with the Masters Agility Championship on Jan. 31, and concludes with the crowning of Best in Show on Feb. 3, at Madison Square Garden. The show is broadcast by Fox and the Westminster Kennel Club.
