Two members of Elon Musk's DOGE team at the Social Security Administration were referred for possible Hatch Act violations.
Good morning. The Trump administration concedes two members of the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, may have misused Social Security data.
The Justice Department says both worked at the Social Security Administration and secretly contacted an advocacy group which was seeking to overturn election results in certain states.
The DOJ adds one of them signed an agreement that may have involved using Social Security data to match state voter rolls.
If true, both violate the Hatch Act, which bars government employees from using their official positions for political purposes.
