1967 Chevy C10 "Lunar Rock" - Full Custom Build Debut at Dino's Git Down 2025 We're at the 2025 Dino's Git Down with this clean 1967 Chevy C10 that's been getting tons of attention. This is the largest truck show we've ever been part of, and this build represents what FFG is all about— high-end details, thoughtful design, and building something truly one of one but still drivable.
This '67 C10 sits on a Porterbuilt FFG chassis Level 3 with full air ride suspension, powered by a brand new LT4 supercharged motor pushing through a 10-speed automatic transmission. This thing pulls smooth and linear with all those gears, plus you get decent fuel economy when you hit those last four overdrive gears. Wizard radiator with intercooler tanks, Wilwood brake kit system, and everything tucked in nice and clean. When a build looks simple, that means a lot of time and money went into making it look that way.
The exterior is wrapped in classic Toyota gray color (Lunar Rock cement) with off-white top and side trim— we made sure to use a grayer white instead of yellow white so it wouldn't clash. All seams perfectly sealed, drip rails smooth as glass, gaps all dialed in. Rolling on Avant Garde billet wheels, 22s with 12 inch wide in the back and 9 inch in the front. Holly retro Flite headlights with LED lights. Stock mirrors and door handles to keep it classic and clean.
We widened the rear tubs to fit those 12 inch wheels and raised the bed floor so the air suspension has somewhere to go when it lays out. Accuair air management is tucked underneath where you can actually access it— we don't put it on top of the gas tank because you need to be able to get to your fuel pump if something goes wrong.
The handcrafted black limba wood bed was built in house using exotic wood from Africa that has darks and lights in it. We can get wider boards which keeps it cleaner and less busy. Each board takes about 4 hours to custom cut and fit tight around all the body lines. We went with wider planks instead of more boards to avoid busyness in the bed. The whole process involves sanding, staining, sealing, glazing, sanding again, sealing, and clearing. Finished with a satin finish for that elegant, luxury look instead of high gloss marine finish. Video on that wood bed process coming soon. Inside features our complete FFG custom interior kit with bolstered bench seat, door panels, kick panels, dash pad, and sun visors— you can actually order this kit from us and we'll ship it color matched to your build. Went with plaid inserts that tie into the beige top, giving it life and a vintage feel instead of typical gray or black interiors. Darker stitching with French seams throughout. Dakota Digital HDX gauges in the classic instrument cluster, factory AC vents, push button start, LED dome lights. Everything painted in lower gloss to soften it up and match the finishes. Includes a matching detail bag with Maguiar's care products and microfibers so you can detail at shows. Focal subwoofers and Morell speakers with tweeters, all tuned perfect.
This truck is one of one but still drivable. Not cookie cutter, not a kit, not something anyone else can have. Every decision was intentional— from the wood bed color matching the interior theme to the satin finishes that create elegance. Trucks like this don't happen overnight. They take planning and a lot of decisions along the way to get them looking this good.
Big thanks to everyone who came by our booth at Dino's Git Down. This community is what it's all about— whether you showed up in a truck that barely ran or a full custom build, we're all here for the same love of classic trucks. The trucks are cool, but the people are cooler. Stay tuned for driving videos, photo shoots, and magazine features on this build.

Everybody, this is Jason with Fat Garage
and we are at the 2025 Dino's Get Down
and this is the largest truck show that
I have ever been a part of and it's here
in Arizona and it's awesome. And if
you've never been here, you have to get
here. But right behind me, we got a 1967
Chevy C10, right? Super cool airbagged,
laid out, awesome. This thing is
intense. And so I want to go over some
of the details and kind of talk about
what we did to this truck. It's pretty
cool and it's had a lot of things
cleaned up and it's a very high-end
build. When they're done, they're
awesome. Like, this thing has gotten so
much attention. But let's take a look at
it. So, let's start underneath the hood
since we're right here. This is a 1967.
So, you've got this low sloped hood, but
we've used some of the trim around here
that was very common on 67 and 68. We
have the trim here, but we kept it all
nice and white rather than having it
match here just so we could get this
nice clean look. We have the Holly retro
brightite headlights here and of course
LED lights here. So, we pop the hood
here and then of course we've got these
portabuilt hood hinges with the struts
on it make it nice and easy to go up and
especially on a bag truck you got to you
got to have that. But for the power
plant, we've got a brand new LT4
supercharged motor with a 10-speed
automatic transmission. So, this thing
is going to be just as smooth as glass.
It's going to be very linear when it
pulls because you got 10 gears, right?
So, plus you got a great overdrive, so
you're going to get pretty decent fuel
economy when you get into those last
four overdrive gears. So, we've got our
Wizard radiator. We've got our
intercooler tanks and all that kind of
stuff tucked in right here. Nice and
clean. You got a cap right here. Of
course, you've got your fresh air right
here, a wheelwood brake kit system right
there, and but kept pretty simple, nice
and tidy. It takes a lot of work to make
it look simple. If you go to a project
and it looks very simple, they spend a
lot of money to get get it look like
that. When you see a lot of stuff
everywhere and wires everywhere and all
that stuff, that's the easy way to do
it. And it makes a little bit less
expensive to do it that way. But clean,
simple, usually means a lot more time
and effort went into it. and it but it
looks super sharp. So, let's walk around
over here. All right, so on the outside
of this truck, really kept it nice and
simple. Of course, we gapped everything
nice. We cleaned it all up. All the
seams have been all perfectly seam
sealed and super nice and clean, right?
That's what we're after. All this drip
right in here is super just like glass
smooth. It it's it's perfect. The gaps
are good, but then try to keep it just,
you know, like classic, right? Like not
over the top, but just classic looking.
And you got this classic Toyota gray
color with this really nice not bright
white, but just kind of an off-white
color that kind of ties into it. We even
made sure that this was a little bit of
a grayer white instead of a yellow white
cuz it kind of clashed. So, a lot of the
little details we get into to make sure
it's right. So, again, a stock mirror.
We kept all the stainless steel trim.
Just a nice original stock door handle
just for some very simple tidiness with
all the trim. But then of course we've
tucked in some nice avantgard billet
wheels here. 12 inch uh by 22s in the
front and then you got, you know, a 9 in
by 22 in the front. Everybody will ask
like why are the front wheels like so
far in? And when you're when you're
driving these and you're like 3 in off
the ground and you're making turns, you
just need wheel clearance, right?
Everything has come up so far that you
just don't want to hit and uh rub,
right? So that is the tradeoff, right?
Rather than having it pushed all the way
out there and kind of get it uh looking
a little bit more normal, it has to be
tucked in so you can actually get the
turning radius, you know, that you need
out of it. So uh give and take. All
right, so the back side of this is very
traditional. We've widened up these tubs
a little bit so we could get the 12 in.
We had to raise the bed floor up, right?
Cuz in order to go low, the suspension
has to go somewhere. So it comes up and
so we have to put a a bed floor in here.
Now, this one often times will cause it
to open up. We didn't do it on this one.
Wanted to keep a little more simple, but
it would look the same. You wouldn't be
able to tell, but this one is
handcrafted wood bed. So, this isn't
something a bed you're going to go buy
anywhere. Um, you can't even probably
get the wood black limba. It's comes
from Africa. It's an exotic wood. I like
it because it it has some darks and
lights in it. And then also, um, I to be
honest with you, I can get wider boards
out of it. So, it makes it a little bit
easier than than trying to like go
through the big lumber yard, sort
through a unit of lumber. I also like a
little bit wider board rather than I
could have added one or two more boards
in here um and made it easier. Uh but
all that does is uh create a busyiness.
And so that busyiness in the wood bed, I
don't think really looks that good. I
want it to look like a bed, but I think
the wider planks look cleaner. So, I I
custom cut and fit the bed in here. all
the little cuts that go around and
they're tedious and I I cut it as tight
as I possibly can. Some of those boards
will take me about 4 hours each board
just to make sure it's cut to fit. But
then really after that, we're we're
working on trying to tie a color that is
going to make sense and look good for
for this truck. So often times, you
know, it's a it's a process of of just
kind of sitting with it for a minute,
right? And just finding that that right
look and that feel. So, what we tried to
do is we tried to make the interior and
the bed, you know, from a distance feel
like they belong together to find color
uh pattern and themes that actually look
really good together. And so, we wanted
to bring that tie together. So, we
stained this. So, it's quite a process.
Uh we have a video that we recorded that
hopefully will get edited soon. He's
probably going to edit that out of the
video so he doesn't think I, you know,
he forgot. Anyways, yeah. And so we've
got a video coming out. We'll show you
the process, but it takes quite a bit
where right where we got to sand it,
stain it, seal it, glaze it, sand it,
seal it, clear it. Like there's there's
a lot of steps in it. Right. So, all
right. So, if you just kind of come take
a look around, you can kind of see these
these cuts right here. Like there there
it's it looks like this when you put a
straight board, but we're now to try to,
you know, and then the wood moves and
expands and is constantly moving. A lot
of people don't don't understand how
much wood actually moves. It moves quite
a bit and so we try to make sure that
it's, you know, we leave oursel some
room for it to expand and shrink. So, of
course, we got our billet fuel thing
here and you put your gas right there.
Pretty simple, nice and clean. And then
underneath it, uh, all the air
management is very easy to get to. A lot
of people will put all that stuff right
here sitting on top of the gas tank, but
we like to put it somewhere else because
if there's something wrong with my gas
tank, I need I need to be able to access
this and get to it, get to the fuel
pump. So, let's take a look inside.
All right, so
man, we're in this truck. It feels super
awesome. The seat feels great. We've got
this custom bench seat. It's a brand new
bench seat. We sell we actually sell
this interior kit. So, you can actually
call us up. You can buy a bench seat.
You can buy the door panels. You can get
the kick panels. We'll send the dash
pad. We'll do the sun visors and we'll
send all that stuff out to you color
matched. Um, everything done. We'll sell
you some carpet. So, really all you have
to do is just get some carpet installed.
Um, and then from there you got an
interior and it's really a great way to
go. A lot of cool things we sell. Of
course, we got LED dome lights that we
put in here. This is kind of a I'd say
proprietary product that we came out
with, but uh people like to try to copy
it. But this is kind of helps us with
our air management, but I hated seeing
it on the seat. I hate it seeing here.
And so this just kind of tucks out of
the way a little a little bit cleaner so
I don't have to like see it. If you go
to shows, you can kind of hide it, but
you can also pull that out when you're
sitting cruising. You can kind of, you
know, adjust your your air and and go to
the right height you want. Push button
start, AC controls. You got a nice
little uh radio right here. Keep it nice
and simple. You've got uh a classic
instrument cluster here with Dakota
Digital HDX gauges and you know, pretty
stock looking with the factory AC vents.
Again, not to not to detour too far and
make it so restood that you know it's
overly fabricated, but at the same time,
you know, it looks nice. Everything's
been painted. You'll notice inside that
this isn't a a high gloss paint. And the
reason why we do that is because a lot
of the finishes and everything in here
are not high gloss. And so it kind of
helps soften everything up inside and
makes it look nice. Same some of the
things we did underneath the engine
compartment. Anytime we can kind of
soften it up and it doesn't feel quite
so industrial or or metal. Like if you
notice the wood bed, it it has a a satin
finish on it, right? We could put a high
gloss and make it look like brand new
boat wood or something like that with
that marine finish on it. But we're
looking for elegance. We're looking for
luxury. We're looking for high-end
finishes and looks and touches. And so,
we find that a lot of the satin finishes
help us accomplish that. And also pretty
cool, right? Every one of our customers
or if you order up a kit, you have an
option to getting this, but you get a
matching detail bag, which is kind of
cool because Maguiars is the preferred
company we work with. And of course, it
gets it comes with Maguire's car care
product. You get some microfers in
there. And so when you're at a show and
you have all that stuff, you don't have
like nothing looks weird or out of place
and uh can sit on the seat. It kind of
blends in. Some people have us make
extra for them and put straps on it and
they just have like a backpack, you
know, at the show. So super cool. Um a
lot of uh simplisticness to it. Of
course, you got a couple nice Focal subs
here. We've got some Morell speakers
here, tweeters here, and it's all been,
you know, tuned and sounds just it's
great. A lot of a lot of great sounds.
So, a lot of time and effort went into
this thing. And so, they don't just
happen, right? Trucks like this, you
just don't build them overnight. They
don't come together overnight. And to
have them look really good like they
like this truck does, you know, you have
to plan it. And there's a lot of
decisions that are have to be made along
the way. So, just to kind of reiterate a
couple things on the interior, there's a
lot of decisions that go into like
picking interior, what color, and a lot
of it comes down to like what does the
customer think? What does he what does
he want? And a lot of times he's got his
heart set on some stuff. And so, it
would have been very easy to do like a a
gray interior or a black interior or
something. It could have gotten lost in
itself, right? Like everybody else has
that. But at the same time, trying to
find something that feels also vintage
from an era. And so like this plaid is
kind of cool. It's not like the typical
Volkswagen plaid a lot of people are
using. It's got some light tones here.
Um it ties in with the the beige, you
know, top that we have on it and it kind
of provides, you know, life to the
inside. And then of course, you know,
we've got some darker stitching and some
French seams in here. And
we got guys with funny horns. Remember,
we're at the get down, right? All right.
So, you know, we've kind of give you the
inter interior look, but one thing I've
learned about building trucks or just
anything in general is uh while while it
is expensive, what we've created here is
one of one. We definitely can go take
the same amount of money and and buy a
Porsche GT3 RS. Like, you can you can go
get one of those, but guess what? So can
anyone else with that kind of money,
they can go get it and everybody can
have it. And so what we're hoping to
create for someone is something that's
not cookie cutter. That's not a kit.
It's not something anyone else can have.
It's theirs. It's one of one. It's
special. It was designed. It was created
for them. And this is what this truck
has become. Now, everybody has a
different purpose of why they do things.
And we're here at Dino's Get Down. And
there are thousands of trucks here,
right? Well, what makes a truck cool and
unique is all individual, right? There
are people here that are just happy to
show up with a truck that barely ran
today. And you know what? Hats off to
you guys for showing up. This is a
community. It's a truck community.
There's a lot of great people here. And
there's a lot of people here that are
just happy to share the same ideas, the
same love for classic pickup trucks,
right? Whether it's Chevy or Ford,
whatever it is. I I'm so glad to be part
of this community. I'm glad to be glad
to be a part of so many great and
amazing people that are showing up here.
People come by the booth and yeah, they
see these trucks, they they love them,
right? And we love them, too. But guess
what? We also love the guy that just
showed up. Those are the same people
that are the enthusiasts that we love
working with. My friend Ronnie Wench
would say, "The trucks are cool, but the
people are cooler." Right? And it's such
a true statement, right? Um we're here
to have fun. We're here to be friends.
We're here to not flex, be jerks, and
think of all these other kind of weird
egotistical things, right? We're here to
be friends and have a good time and and
appreciate all the hard work that every
single company vendor that is here that
has put into their business and
accomplish what they've accomplished. I
would say hats off to each and every one
of you and thank you for letting us be a
part of the community and thank you for
letting me show you this super awesome
truck. We're super excited about it and
we're super excited to wrap up some
miles on it. We're going to do some
driving videos. We're going to do some,
you know, a lot of cool photo shoots.
It's going to get in a magazine. We're
super stoked about it. And if you didn't
come to the get down, I hope you come
next year. You should be here. Bring
your family. This is a family event. And
with that, we'll see you next time.
