Before we get into today's video,
big announcement for the entire month of November,
we are once again giving away a bow
if you buy an order on b-rollcustomgear.com,
but this time it is going to be the new 2025 Matthews
that has not been released yet.
So you're gonna be entering the giveaway to win a bow
that you guys don't quite know about,
but you're gonna be one of the first ones
to actually get the brand new bow.
So for the month of November,
every order on b-rollcustomgear.com
gets entered to win that bow.
If you buy a set of UV-1K arrows on b-rollcustomgear,
you get 10 extra entries.
And also for the entire month of November,
we are giving a portion of proceeds
to go back to Hurricane Relief,
all of our friends down in the Southeast
that have been affected by the hurricane.
So make sure you check it out, b-rollcustomgear.com.
And now we'll get into today's video.
We're due for an updated budget bow build,
but I thought before we do that,
so many people have been wanting this
to go deer hunting with it.
So that's what we're gonna do today.
It's 1.41 p.m.
And we're gonna go in the stand tonight
after building this thing out.
We already have a rest, very simple whisker biscuit.
We got a peep sight, we got all that jazz,
but we do have to put this True Glow sight back on.
I'm pretty sure this is the one that we used
when we built this bow.
And then these are our arrows.
They are Victory V-Force Gamers 350s,
just some cheap Victory arrows, six millimeter.
So we'll pop up on the screen real quick
what this total setup cost us
to pretty much be ready to go into bow hunting.
The great thing about this Hammer Mission,
Mission Hammer by Mission, is it's super adjustable.
It goes, the poundage goes super low,
and then it goes all the way up to, I think, 70 pounds.
And the draw length is super adjustable.
You can see here, all of these holes
are adjustments for draw length.
So you move this giant mod,
and your draw length can be all sorts of stuff.
So it's super adjustable bow.
Just a great beginner bow.
So what we're gonna do, we're gonna slap this sight on,
and then I'm gonna very roughly shoot it through paper.
Great micro-adjustment.
I'm gonna call that good.
I don't know about you, but I'm gonna call that good.
Let's shoot it through the chrono
just to get a quick spec on it.
248, not very fast, but it'll do.
Let's see what the poundage is.
65 pounds, that's actually not too bad, okay.
248, 65 pounds.
So let's get this thing sighted in.
What I'm first gonna do is just inside here,
get my 20 mark really close,
because I'm pretty far off of it right now.
Yeah, so we'll get it close, and then we'll go outside.
Close, okay.
Oh, no, I'm gonna do it again.
Nice, right in the dot.
41, let's go ahead and try it.
Look at that, right in the dot.
Easy peasy.
I'm gonna do one more at 20 just for confidence.
Nice, right on the right side of the dot.
They're all kind of on the right side.
I might bump it a little bit more.
Bump it one more time, shoot it one more time.
Slacked on the left side.
I might bump it back a little bit.
We're close, we're right there, we're ready.
Budget bow hunt, engage.
This is the same bow that we shot 111 yard caribou,
got one in from the truck.
I'm bow fishing with this bow.
We built it under, I think, under $500.
I think it was under $400.
So the final checklist on this is to shoot a deer,
maybe a couple of deer, a couple of does with it.
So we're gonna rip on out there
and hopefully not get blown out of the tree.
Got the old girl all ready to rock and roll.
Still gale force winds,
but we're gonna walk out to the stand, get up in there.
And hopefully it calms down here in a little bit.
It's a windy joker out today.
It's not as windy down here in the bottom.
I will say that, but it's still pretty windy.
This is the same spot that we shot a doe
for the pawn shop video.
It's just a super close spot, not super invasive.
We can sneak in here and shoot a doe, hopefully.
Got a pile of turkeys sounding off right now,
but it's like 85 degrees.
I mean, I'm literally wearing the thinnest piece of clothing
that I have right now and I'm still sweating.
So hopefully we still got some does wanting to come out here.
We got a big clover plot,
little strip of brassicas and then beans.
So we have the whole buffet in this little plot right here.
It's actually not too far from where I shot power line.
I shot power line right over there,
about 200 yards in that next ditch.
So it's definitely a good spot where we're at,
but we're just looking for some does.
And we got obviously the mission.
The mission's all geared up and ready to go.
It's amazing how small this little bad boy is,
but get ready to release.
But hoping to break it in.
Missions never kill anything, so it's always fun.
I think this is the same arrow too
I shot the doe with for the pawn shop.
So we're gonna do two for two with the same arrow,
different broadhead, but same arrow, hopefully.
I'm just hoping this weather doesn't make our night
uneventful, but I still have hope.
Yeah, she's coming out.
This front doe on the right's mature also.
I might shoot her in the beans.
Actually, here's this one right here.
Got her.
Nice.
Nice, we got her.
Watch her.
Nice.
We got her.
That's like back of the lungs, right?
Should've been good.
Yeah, just, it's good.
Talk about just a nasty day to go hunting, though.
That's a giant, giant old doe.
Giant old doe.
I didn't see her get back out of that ditch.
Yeah, that's awesome.
The old budget bow for the win.
It's 30, it was like 28 yards, I think.
Because I was arranging a bunch of references
and she was right in the middle of all of them.
27, 28 yards, bro.
Gosh.
Nice work.
Good video.
It's wide open, it's perfect, yeah.
That's awesome.
Oh wait, another one, another one, another one,
another one.
Dopey, dopey, dopey.
Merp, merp, merp.
They look good, right?
Another giant doe, man.
That one, it was right in the pocket.
I just hope it wasn't a little too low, if anything.
Go do a collection service in the can-am.
What I like.
Oh, here's my arrow.
Nice, absolutely covered.
Covered in blood.
Oh, we got her.
She's dead right here.
Nice.
Big old doe, geez.
Look at the size of the head on this joker.
Big old doe.
We're gonna have to get the can-am close to this
so we can get the winch on her.
Oh my goodness.
Exit was a little further back than I'd like,
but it must've still got double lung
and then out in the liver.
Okay, she didn't really go.
She went under 100 yards,
so should be able to get the can-am to the edge right here.
It's October 29, and it is 85 degrees.
She did a little big C on us, but we got her.
Man, perfect shot too.
We're not far from the stand.
She just went in the woods and did a big C.
Little doe management with the budget bow.
Rock and roll.
Two does.
That is more than I could bargain for tonight
with this nasty weather.
So, gotta figure out how to get this old girl
back to the can-am.
Very convenient.
Budget bow, doe-mageddon was a huge success.
What a great way to get into the sport
is just start easy.
Couple hundred dollars, get out in the woods.
You don't need a bunch of fancy equipment
to get the job done.
I mean, this setup right here is very cheap
in the realm of archery.
And we went out and we shot a couple does.
And I mean, there's no reason that,
there's essentially no barrier of entry
if you're willing to spend a few hundred dollars
to just get out in the woods.
So, we had some fun tonight.
Mission Hammer did its work.
Even though it was a terrible day of hunting.
Statistically, it should have been,
we should have seen zero deer.
We still saw a decent amount of deer.
So, we're gonna get these cleaned
and we're actually going to donate these.
Iowa has a great donation program.
So, we're gonna gut these real quick
and then go and donate them
because we have a huge doe problem on this farm
and we gotta keep on smacking some does.
So, thank you all for watching.
We'll catch you guys in the next one.
