Welcome back to the antique clock shop. I'm going to give you an update on this Bonner & Son
English clock I've been working on. I got the movement out
of the clock and I always like to get them running for a few days before I tear them apart.
I'm going to show you a short video of how the
Some people refer to this as the verge. I call it the crutch. I'll explain that in a minute
But I'll show you a video of how it was when it came out of the clock. I'll be right back
Okay
If you looked at that video
You can see why it wasn't running right. I got it nice and plumb now
Everything seems to be running pretty smoothly. I got it on my level board here
Got it working pretty good
On the American clocks. This is an old Ingram parts movement
And the pallets here and the only way that pallets connected
To the suspension spring is with this crutch and I still refer to these as a crutch
It's just terminology that I'm used to. I just wanted to explain that to you, but the next move on this
Clock here is I'm going to let it run for a couple days and then I'll go ahead and disassemble it clean it and see
What it needs. I do think I'm gonna have to put a new suspension spring in here because the top of that's cracked
and
There's probably my best move is to make a new one of those so that's gonna be a challenge trying to get that spring material
I mean I can get I
Can buy these here already made, but I just need the spring material
so I gotta see if I can find that spring material on eBay or something and
Make a new one because I need the bottom leader part
To you know I can't find a replacement one
That's the thing about the American clocks is I go on eBay and I can find any part
I want but when they're like an English clock or a German clock
It's a little harder for me to find the parts, so I gotta make them all right. That's it for this video. Thanks for watching
