Are you ever coming back to the
Philippines and live there again? When
are you getting married? And are you and
Mike still friends?
Okay, we are back with another Q&A with
Nelly and it's going to be an exciting
one because I've been avoiding some of
the questions for quite some time. And
today we're going to spill the tea. I
just want to be done with it. I just
want to put it out there so that you
guys can just let it go. We can forget
about it and move on. Yeah, you might
have figured I'm a matcha girly now. I
switched to matcha pretty much when I
started doing my detox. I had to quit
coffee for a few weeks. So, yeah, matcha
it is for me because I just needed
something else that would give me the
afternoon pickme up and this is a pretty
healthy alternative. Yeah, when I'm
drinking matcha, it's ceremonial grade
matcha because it is the best quality
out there. And I found this really,
really delicious homemade almond milk
that is fantastic and makes a very, very
good matcha latte with this.
[Music]
Okay, that was not my best latte art,
but I was focusing on filming, so here
it is. Matcha.
M. Wow. Yum. Okay, I have a few juicy
questions for today and it makes me so
happy that one of the most asked
questions is how are you doing? So,
we'll start with that. I'm doing very
fine. I am super excited. I have some
things coming up that I'm going to share
today in this Q&A. And this is also a
way to connect with you guys uh a little
bit deeper than, you know, just the
travel videos where I share my travels.
So, yeah, life is really good. I'm
leaving for a long trip in a week. So, a
lot of travel vlogs are coming your way.
So, stay tuned for that. Turn on the
notification bell and it's going to be
really, really good. I'm going to meet a
few of you guys. You reached out to me.
I posted on Instagram if anybody has
recommendations for content creators or
even foodies who are around. So, you
guys said, "Hey, we are here. So, let's
meet. Let's hang out." So, I said yes.
So, it's going to be an exciting one.
And um yeah, fun times and I'm really
happy to see my family very soon. It's
been a year. That is going to be really
nice to just reconnect and spend some
quality time together. Next one that I
got is got a few questions I'd like I'd
like to ask, but it's too personal. Just
stay safe and kind. So when I say I want
to do a Q&A, I am inviting you to ask me
questions that are interesting to you.
So feel free to ask. Don't be shy. The
worst case scenario is that I will not
pick your question on the blog. But
always always ask. If you don't ask, you
will never know. And besides that, I get
asked some juicy questions all the time
and I know my boundaries and I can say
it in a very very kind way. So don't be
afraid to ask questions. Next one. How
good are you at paddle? I would say I am
pretty good. I'm um high bronze, low
silver. I'm taking private uh lessons
right now to improve my technique and
I'm pretty sure I can beat Will as a
witch. So, game on. Will next time when
I come to Manila, we're going to play.
No question. But I just want to say you
look gorgeous. Thank you so much. I've
been putting in a lot of work into
self-care, inner peace, surrounding
myself with amazing people, eating food
that nourishes me, taking care of
myself, and I think that shows. I
personally believe that beauty is
something that comes within. So once you
do the inner work, I think it shows to
the outside. Okay. Next one is about my
living situation and this is also a
question that I get asked a lot because
of my past. I lived for a very very long
time in the Philippines and of course
people are intrigued to know what is
happening. So are you still living in
the Philippines? No, I'm not. I've been
living in Bali for 3 years, but I do
visit the Philippines, I would say, two
to three times per year. I still have
friends there. I still love it there. I
still explore and go to the islands. So,
it is my second home after all. I love
coming back. I love the people. I love
everything about the Philippines. It
really fills my heart with joy every
time I'm there. And I just took my
boyfriend to the Philippines for our one
year anniversary. And hopefully someday
I I can also bring my family to show
them where I used to live for a very
long time. And another question that
goes hand in hand is are you ever coming
back to the Philippines and live there
again? And as of now, there are no
plans, but never say never. Maybe I will
just retire with my friend Cat someday,
probably in Shagaw or something like
that. I'll keep that open because I
don't know what's going to happen in my
life. It is definitely one of the
amazing options that I have. By the way,
if you fly into the Philippines, make
sure you come prepared and install an
eim. The internet at the airport was not
reliable and I had to log in into the
visitor registration at the immigration
and the internet was not working
properly. I walked outside and found the
SIM stands and the eims they were way
overpriced like ridiculous prices. So
just make sure you come prepared because
you don't want to add stress to your
travel and after visiting so many
countries I can confirm that airport
Wi-Fi is not always working. You
definitely want to make sure that you
are connected to the internet to know
your way around and to simply Google
things translate when you are having a
conversation with your driver and yeah
we just need it. I'm personally a tech
girly and I love using tools that make
my life easier. So, SY is one of those
tools. It's a new SIM app that was
created by the same team behind NodeVPN,
which is quite popular. And what I love
about it is that you only need to
install the EIM once, and you can stay
connected across multiple countries. I
personally have traveled to Korea, the
US, and to the Philippines within a
month, and SY is a real lifesaver on my
trips. No more swipping SIM cards or
wasting time at the airport. I also used
it on my trip to obtain eim and it
worked instantly as I landed. So yeah,
the prices are super affordable and they
have both regional and global plans
which is perfect if you are visiting
several places in one trip like I did.
Plus SY offers extra protection features
like blocking malicious ads which is
important and changing your virtual
location so you can browse more safely
on public networks basically like a VPN.
So, if you're traveling soon, definitely
download the SY app and use my code at
checkout to get 15% off your data plan.
And of course, I'm going to leave the
link in the description box down below.
You can also just scan the QR code here
or just simply go into the comment
section. It is on top of all of the
comments, so it will definitely help you
a lot to navigate around in a different
country. Where do you think you will be
for 2026?
Wow. I'm probably I don't know going to
be between countries again and let's
see. I really have no idea what's going
to happen next year. Options are open.
Let's see. Relationship. Do you have a
boyfriend? Yes, I've been dating for a
year and it has been really really
amazing. If you have been sticking
around, you already know a little bit
the background story. Maybe from just
like bits and pieces of content that I
shared on Instagram and on YouTube.
Yeah, I'm happily taken. Next question
is, I haven't really seen the guy's face
close up. Is he camera shy? I wouldn't
say he's camera shy. He's just not a
social media person, and I really don't
want to push him into the social media
world, onto YouTube, onto the screen. I
also prefer to keep my private life
private. If you've been around for quite
some time, you might know that I had a
very public life. I learned my mistakes
from it and I definitely enjoy having
more privacy in on that part of my life.
So, I'm sorry. Can't really share too
much about him. If he ever feels
comfortable to say hello or talk to the
camera, of course, I'll let him do so.
But yeah, he's definitely not shy. He is
very much outgoing, very similar in
terms of character like I am. He's a big
foodie, so he loves to travel. There's
so many things that we have in common.
He's an amazing person. All of my
friends that met him say that he has
this very calm energy. So, I just want
to keep that calm and peace in my life.
While on topic, I have received a very
weird comment that said, "Are you going
to show your boyfriend on camera? If
not, I'm going to unsubscribe." And I
was like, "Okay, that is uh very uh I
don't know entitled. I don't know why
anybody would post something like that."
Uh, if you want to unsubscribe because
you don't see my boyfriend's face,
please do so. I'm no hurt feelings
whatsoever. I treat my YouTube channel
as my office. So, this is my workspace.
I take you along on my journey, on my
food adventures. I share my thoughts.
It's called Nelly's Life. But yeah, I'm
definitely not here for the drama and I
don't want to push people in front of
the camera who don't really want to be
in front of the camera. So yeah, I
definitely want to be respectful of
everybody who is around me and uh not
every situation needs to be filmed. I'm
very happy that I can just keep things
private. Don't have to prove anything to
anybody. Next question, when are you
getting married? And this is a question
that I cannot answer to you. I have no
idea when. Marriage is not something
that you can force. If it happens, I'll
be happy to do so. So yeah, when I know
the answer, I will let you know here on
YouTube or on Instagram and uh share
that I am uh off the market. We're
switching into upcoming trips. Any plans
to visit Ireland? Would love a selfie
with you. I'm not sure if Ireland is on
my list. I'm definitely going to Europe
and I'm going to go to potentially
London, Amsterdam, Paris. I'm also going
to explore south of France most probably
and maybe also a little bit of Italy. If
I do island, I'll let you know on
Instagram, but I would definitely love
to do some meetups. I really want to
connect with you guys more in person.
So, please follow me around. I will keep
you posted where I'm traveling to and uh
maybe we'll meet in real life. If you
see me anywhere in the world, please
don't be shy to say hi. I'm always happy
to take a selfie with you guys. How do
you see yourself in the next 3 years?
Any plans on settling down or family
living? I will go into detail with the
second part of this question. For the
part with the next three years, I don't
know yet. I personally don't plan that
much in advance. Um, I know what I want
to accomplish this year and I also have
some ideas for next year. And I reassess
all of my goals and intentions quarterly
where I just sit down with myself, look
back, what was easy, what was fun, and
where do I see a lot of alignment in my
in my life and then I continue that
direction and leave out the parts that I
didn't enjoy that much. So, it's kind of
like always a trial and error thing. So,
I can't really say what I'm going to do
in 3 years. I just know that I am
staying here on YouTube. I have big
plans for Freedom Creator Academy and
there are also some other things
happening in the background that I can't
talk about yet but I'll keep you posted
about that. Okay, this goes into content
creation. What do you think you have
achieved being a vlogger? I think
besides the external success of having a
community, a certain amount of
followers, brand deals, really really
nice life of full of freedom where I can
work and live from wherever I want. I
personally believe that I grew as a
person. I used to be very shy. I wasn't
really good in front of the camera and I
really evolved into myself and I really
gained a lot of confidence through just
being on camera, putting myself out
there. I'm also blown away by all of the
opportunities that are coming my way.
All of the people that I've met so far.
I would have never met those people if I
would not have been vlogging. So that
for itself is just such a beautiful part
of being a vlogger. You can express
yourself. You can be very creative. You
can take your own direction. You don't
have a boss. There are just so many
parts about blogging that I love. Yeah,
of course. You know, if I can put a
smile on your face, that makes me very
happy. I always appreciate the comments
and the messages that I receive where I
can make someone's day by just showing
them around what I've been up to, where
I've traveled to. So yeah, what I've
achieved as a vlogger is really living
my own passion, living my dream, and
just literally creating my own job
through the things that I love to do
already. So that's uh pretty cool about
being a blogger. If you want to learn
more about that, please feel free to
follow Freedom Creator Academy where I
teach you how to do YouTube. Oh, that
was a shameless plug. I know. I'm sorry.
Got to do that a little bit. But yeah,
if you're eager to learn about that as
well, I think that's a great opportunity
to just start following my other account
to see if this is something that would
align with your goals, with your
passions, um something that you would
like to do. Another question is, I'm an
ambassador for a mushroom coffee brand
here in Canada. Any tips on becoming
good at it? And I personally would share
the story to why you ditched coffee. I
ditched I just told you earlier on I
ditch coffee because I did a detox. I
needed an alternative and I really got
into matcha. So share your why. You can
try content ideas like I did coffee this
is why or you say I tried mushroom
coffee for 30 days this is what happened
and just talk about the benefits talk
about the changes and something that I
personally believe is the transformation
that it made in your life. You feel
better you sleep better. You're not
anxious. You can share some recipes if
you want. Something that is super big on
Tik Tok right now is coffee recipes,
matcha recipes. You can do the same for
mushroom coffee, so people can recreate
that. And then you can tag the brand
that you're using and then explain why
you love this brand so much. And you can
also go on Tik Tok and just see what
other people's did and put your own
touch to it. So there are so many ways
to promote it. It's a trial and error
thing with social media as always, but
if you see that something works for you,
stick to it and continue doing it. Okay,
we're going into the topic of
friendships. Are you still friends with
the Juicy Blog? Ever planning on
collabing with other YouTubers in the
Philippines? First of all, yes, I am
still friends with George and Lucy. In
fact, Lucy reached out to me and um told
me that she's pregnant when she was
pregnant with her baby Remy. And
currently, I'm trying to catch up with
them when I'm in Europe. So, hopefully
it will work out. It's a little bit
difficult for them because they have two
kids and traveling and vlogging with two
kids is a little bit difficult, but uh
we'll try to make it work. Although you
don't see it on social media, we are in
touch in private life. So, all good
between us. We're still friends and
hopefully we'll stay friends for many,
many years. Okay, this is a juicy one. I
you and Mike still friends? The short
answer to it is no. I personally don't
believe in staying friends with your ex.
I don't know how you feel about it. For
me, it is not a natural thing. There's a
reason why it didn't work out. There's a
reason why we went separate ways. There
is uh no friendship involved in our
current lives. We The past is the past.
We moved on. And hopefully this is the
last time that I get asked this
question. It's been 3 years. So, so
yeah, we have our lives. We have our
reasons. And there's no bad blood or
anything. We're just moving on. We're
living our lives. And that's it. Yeah,
that was the Q&A for today. If you have
any recommendations for my upcoming
trips in terms of which content creators
to collaborate with that are in the food
and travel niche or if you are a foodie
that just wants to connect with me and
show me around or send some suggestions,
please do so. I always appreciate your
suggestions for my travels. I always
know that I can trust the locals. So
yeah, that was it for today. I'll see
you guys very soon with a lot of new
adventures.
Whoop!
Woo!
