Come grocery shopping with us + restocking our pantry in our new house!!! Watch to the end for Alex to reveal where he hides his secrets stash!
Guys, when you hear how much this cost.
I knew you were not going to leave here without Diet Coke.
She just said no to a $1 hot dog on our way out.
It's like 10 o'clock.
It is imperative that you do not tell Courtney
where my secret stash is.
Let us know if you guys think that the groceries that we got
were worth the $3 or not.
Still kind of makes me want to vomit.
What's up, guys?
So we are in our new house.
We're going to be doing some sort of a house tour,
but we might wait.
Do you think we should wait
until the rest of the renovations are done?
I think we should.
We want to give you the full picture.
Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking too.
We were supposed to have Windows installed
and I think they waited to order them until last minute.
So now they're on back order.
So now we have to wait 30 more days.
So in about a month.
Well, no, at this point it's like two weeks, right?
Yeah, it's a lot closer now.
I think they should be in here
and hopefully out in three weeks.
Let's hope.
I said, I was like, okay,
like I'm fine with you guys coming back,
but like, can they please be like three days in a row
or five days in a row?
Something like that.
So it's not like they knock out the wall,
they leave for a week, they come back.
Oh my gosh, that would be so stressful.
Yeah, it would.
But today we have no groceries in this house.
And when I say we have no groceries,
welcome to, wait.
Okay, to be fair,
this fridge has been here for officially maybe 12 hours.
Yeah, so we have milk, some leftover spaghetti,
a little Caesar salad and a gallon of milk.
Do you want to see what's in the freezer?
Yes, now don't overreact here.
It is-
Wow, some frozen meatballs.
Some frozen meatballs from the spaghetti.
So I know what you're thinking.
Wow, you guys eat really good.
We need groceries.
And then let's look at the pantry.
So the pantry actually looks like,
it's a little misleading.
It looks like we have stuff,
but let's do a little breakdown.
All right, so we have all of our protein powders,
a thing of cereal, powdered peanut butter,
spaghetti noodles, some drinks,
all of the things that you would ever possibly need
for your baking pleasures.
Some oats.
This is Alex's actually.
You love your snacks.
Yeah, we just threw all the snacks in there when we moved.
And the snacks, they're looking a little dry.
They definitely need some replenishment.
I'll show you guys the snacks.
Some Starbursts, some crackers.
And the Starbursts are for you.
Yeah.
Wow, this is really sad.
We have some lovely cans of soup.
And that's about it.
So we're actually, we just got a Costco membership,
which is actually kind of exciting.
So we're gonna go do a Costco run.
I don't know if you're on the same page as me,
but like I'm preparing for this to be a very hefty haul.
Oh, it 100% will be.
Like I want dinners, lunches, breakfast,
maybe even some frozen meals.
I want snacks, tons of snacks.
Oh, you guys believe we're getting snacks.
I'm actually kind of scared to know
how much this is gonna cost.
Because we're starting from ground zero.
And because we're gonna be buying in bulk.
Cause you think about it, we need peanut butter.
So instead of getting one jar of peanut butter,
Costco is gonna give us two, three,
four jars of peanut butter.
I didn't think of that.
The first time we ever went to Costco,
I actually didn't like it
because I'm not used to buying in bulk.
I'm used to buying, I mean, for two people.
And we usually shop like the great value brand at Walmart.
And so I'm used to $4 jar of peanut butter.
And then, yeah, it's like you go to Costco
and it's like $22 and you have to buy like six of them.
So I think the first time we ever went,
we bought seven items and it ended up being $150.
I was like, what is this?
But I guess on the bright side,
we're not gonna need to go and buy those items.
Like specifically the item that I'm talking about is Ziploc.
I remember to just buy like a thing of Ziploc,
we needed to buy three of them.
And so we're not gonna need any of those bags
for a very, very long time.
All right, let's go.
Family trip.
Oh, wait, I need my Costco card.
That's right.
Oh, here's a little sneak peek of our house.
We're here.
Alex is grabbing the stroller.
All right, let's do this.
Costco, where did Costco?
Did you like my song?
I love your song.
I wrote it just for you.
Really?
Yeah, he's my muse.
This cart literally feels like I'm driving a tank.
It's big enough just in case I go buy one of the sofas
and I wanna put it in my car.
Okay, I don't know if I can put a sofa.
It's probably good.
All right, we have to figure out what kind of steaks we want.
That's $105 right there.
Is it actually?
Yeah, $105.
Wagyu.
I've never had it, but Wagyu, I don't know.
I don't know.
I knew you were not gonna leave here without that goat.
I actually don't know if I can lift it.
There you go, you got it.
Bend with the legs.
How bad do you want it, babe?
I guarantee if that thing was 70 pounds,
you'd find a way to put it in the cart.
All right, we're knocking out the essentials.
So now that we got all the healthy stuff,
I think that sort of gives us the right
to go get some snacks.
Okay, yeah, is that how that works?
I gotta get some cheese first for some sandwiches,
but then we're good to hit up the snacks.
We're filling that thing to the brim.
Oh man, we got quite a bit of work to do.
We might just have to get like a block of cheese
and cut it.
Are we willing to do this work for cheese?
No, no, I'll be so for real.
I am not gonna sit there for 10 minutes and cut up cheese.
So we will just go to Walmart.
Are you just gonna walk by that and not say,
hey, babe, I wanna get you some flowers.
Oh, I was planning on getting those on the way out.
I'm sure.
A lot has happened.
She just said no to a $1 hot dog on our way out.
It's like 10 o'clock.
But-
What's your point?
It's $1.
A lot has happened in the last 10 minutes.
We got work done.
Are you happy, pretty girl?
Yeah.
I think we have a Costco fan over here.
Yeah, I know.
This is actually perfect timing
because I think we need a liquid oasis.
Okay, stop.
No, we do not.
I think we're good.
To the checkout.
Hey, hi baby.
Alex said we needed to stop and get a hot dog.
It was $1.50 for a hot dog and a drink.
It's like not even 11 o'clock.
We just spent a lot of money.
Waiting to eat it.
And so we need to earn some of that money back
by spending $1.50 for a hot dog.
That's boy math right there.
Right, it makes sense.
She's literally crawling out of the car seat.
She has never done that before.
I think she's just so excited for this hot dog.
I've been trying to tell this girl
that it was $1.50 for all this,
but she just wasn't listening.
But I didn't realize,
I thought it was just $1.50 for the hot dog.
I didn't realize it was $1.50 for the hot dog and a drink.
That's a whole different ball game.
She loves her Diet Coke.
This changes the game.
Looks like we're coming back again soon.
I would pay $1.50 just for the drink alone.
Aspen is also just as mesmerized as I am.
All right, we got to do the taste test.
Okay.
All right, here we go.
Okay, one thing about this boy,
it's like a funny little pet peeve that I have.
He takes the world's largest bites.
So then it takes him two minutes to chew.
And then I just sit here and I wait.
I'll be like, so how was it?
Takes the world's largest bite,
chews for three minutes, and then.
See?
I'm not chewing anymore.
And then I just sit here and I wait for the answer.
Not gonna lie, I chewed and swallowed that
before I wanted to, just to prove you wrong.
Okay, that was the best time of my life.
Got a lot of stuff.
Yeah.
Here's the funny part is like,
I can guarantee we have never spent this much at one time.
Never.
Not even close.
This is probably double the amount
that we've ever spent in our entire lives.
Okay, we're gonna tell you how much it was,
but I have never, ever in my life spent this much
at a grocery store.
At least it's in bulk.
Got enough Diet Coke to feed a family reunion.
♪♪♪
Okay, we got it all in.
This is everything that we got.
That's a lot.
You guys know how it is though.
When you move, you're just like,
you don't wanna be buying a bunch of groceries and stuff.
So we were trying to get rid of our groceries
so we didn't have to move them.
So we had a lot of work to do to restock.
Guys, when you hear how much this costs,
this is a hefty receipt.
I'm not gonna lie, my heart murmured just a little bit
when I saw the total, but.
But again, we will not need to grocery shop for a minute.
You say that, but we actually do.
Like we don't need to buy like bulk anything,
but like there's just like the little things
that we might have to get.
Yeah, but like we have so much meat.
We have enough meat probably to last us the next month.
I hope so.
And then like, yeah, like we're probably gonna eat the fruit
and the salad stuff first.
But like when it comes to snacks,
like we stocked up on snacks and all that.
We have spaghetti.
We won't have to buy peanut butter for the next year.
I eat a lot of peanut butter.
Don't underestimate me.
That's a lot.
And then we're probably not buying pop for a very long time.
You say we're not gonna get more Diet Coke in a while.
Well, I guarantee you that thing's gonna be gone
before you know it.
Aspen's sleeping right now.
So I say we just try to bang this out as fast as possible.
I say, do you wanna tackle a pantry
or do you wanna tackle the fridge?
I'll do the pantry.
Honestly, good luck.
Okay, honestly, I wanna get some storage bins
or something to like organize this nice and neat
because we have no food in here, but it looks full.
So you're up for a challenge.
Well, this basket's empty.
So there's a start.
Yeah, and then I have a couple clear bins
that we could put like chips and stuff in,
but I'm gonna let this be your job.
And then I am going to tackle the fridge
and then the fridge in the garage for all of our drink.
Let's do this.
I was able to clear out a good amount of space,
but let's get these snacks in here.
Ever since Courtney and I got married,
she got kind of mad at me for snacking a lot.
She actually urged me to hide snacks from her.
So literally for the past two and a half years,
I've always kept a little secret stash
somewhere in the house where I keep my own personal snacks
just so that she's not tempted to eat them
because I eat more than her.
We are supplying these snacks inside of here
that I'm gonna put in the pantry.
There's still a lot left.
I'm gonna hide those somewhere in the house
and Courtney's never gonna find them
and you're never gonna tell her that I hid them,
but she okayed it.
So it's not like it's a big secret.
She probably knows that I'm hiding them
somewhere in the house.
Really quick, I do wanna clarify
with the little secret stash here.
Courtney only wants me to hide the snacks
that either one are really easy to binge
or two are kind of unhealthy.
I left a lot of the snacks down there inside of the pantry
because they were healthier.
I don't really see her binging those.
The goal is not necessarily to hide them from her,
which I mean, yes, I'm hiding them from her,
but it's more, let's make it really inconvenient for her
if she wants one of these
and a little bit of out of sight, out of mind.
If she ever wants one of these,
she'll ask me to get one for her and I will.
This little bathroom area, it's connected to my office.
There's actually like two little sinks.
So there's one right here.
There's the bathroom right behind me here.
And then there's another sink with more cabinets.
And so there's not really any reason for her
to ever be in this area,
but I think I'm just gonna stack them underneath the sink.
They fit like a glove down there.
Perfect.
Have you made it this far?
It is imperative that you do not tell Courtney
where my secret stash is.
Let's have some integrity and not tell her
if you did make it this far.
Comments, something to throw her off the scent.
I don't know what that is.
Maybe don't say secret stash, but just say like,
oh, those snacks look really good or I don't know.
Anything to throw her off the scent.
You guys are probably gonna be better
at coming up with something than I am,
but she cannot know that I put the secret stash up here.
Plus she also doesn't know what's all in the secret stash.
I was the one that got all the snacks
while she went out to feed Aspen in the car.
She might know what's in there.
I don't know.
Either way, don't tell her.
It's our little secret.
If I see any DMs or anything to her, any comments,
I'm not gonna be a happy camper.
I'm the one that gets hungry around here.
I need my snacks and they're mine.
We are stocked up.
Oh my gosh.
I just got us all stocked up.
Why do I have a feeling that we're gonna be
like the cool house?
Like we're gonna be the cool parent's house.
Apparently it took me too long.
The light just turned off.
There we go.
You can get the light back on.
This is so much.
All right, let's see how Alex is doing.
How's the pantry coming along?
No way.
All right, let's take a look.
All right.
Ta-da.
What do you think?
Yeah, I am just so thankful to have food.
Me too.
On a scale of one to 10,
how would you rate my boy organizational skills?
I mostly just threw stuff in there.
I was gonna say,
I don't really understand what you mean by organization.
At some point I would love, oh my gosh, to get,
I don't know if you've ever seen like the Kardashians.
Everything's like color-coded and it's like so beautiful.
I would absolutely love that.
And then even like to have like the skinny pop in one row
and then like,
I don't even know what some of those other chips are,
but like to get all the chips like neatly organized.
Organization is hard.
Yes.
Like they, that's an actual job.
They, there's someone that will come out
and they will organize everything for you.
And then you wanna see,
they've already seen it, but I'm showing you.
So here's the beautiful fridge.
Oh wow.
That looks so much better than an empty fridge.
I can almost guarantee you
it's not gonna look like that in a week,
but it looks beautiful now.
Wait, hold on.
Let me show you the,
I almost wanna say soda fridge, drink fridge.
Drink fridge?
Yeah.
It's not soda.
We'll say drink fridge.
Here we go.
Whoa.
That actually looks so cool.
Never in my life did I ever think
that I would have anything close
to resembling a drink fridge.
Okay.
I was telling them, I was like,
why do I feel like we're gonna be like the cool parents?
Like everyone's gonna wanna come to our house.
Just because they know that we have drinks in the fridge.
We have drinks.
We have snacks.
We have a playroom.
Like you name it.
Let us know if you guys think
that the groceries that we got were worth the $423 or not.
Still kind of makes me wanna vomit, but it's fine.
I think that I can justify the price of the groceries
because we had an empty fridge, an almost empty pantry,
and we got hot dogs and pot for $3 for the two of us.
Oh yeah.
$1.50 each.
Anyway, we're gonna close off this video.
Thank you guys for coming along.
Like I said, we have a house tour coming soon.
We might have an organizational video coming soon.
If there's any specific videos that you guys want to see,
comment it down below.
We're pretty active in the comments.
So comment.
We love you guys.
See ya.
Bye.
