SURPRISE romantic date night at home *budget friendly*

We're saying goodnight. Hey guys! What is up? I feel so awkward recording without Matt. Like I don't know how to start a video. Like I feel like that's normally something he does. It's Valentine's Day today. And I'm in charge of Valentine's Day date this year. And that kind of came to be because I woke up on the morning of February 1st and I was like, hey, it's the month of love. And I started to think, I was like, why is it that I always expect Matt to plan the date? I'm like, I can do this thing. I'm going to try this. And so I started planning from that day. And what do you do when you want to treat your man right on Valentine's Day other than go to the dollar store, am I right? But I was like, if I'm planning a date for Matt, then probably the best things to do would A, be to record it because he's Mr. YouTube nowadays. So that's what this is. Thanks for being a part of our Valentine's Day date, guys. Another thing, I was like, if I'm going to make Matt fall in love with me even more, then this date has to be budget friendly. Because if you know Matt, you know that he's Mr. Finance. He is very mindful with his money spending. And I'm thankful for that. And I'm kind of right there with him. So I went to the dollar store because I was like, this is what we need to be. And I got some rose petals, some fake rose petals. I got some tall candles because candles say romance. I got some candle holders for them. I also got a little banner. And I got a card that says hot husband. It's actually extra hot. So you might be like, why did you get all these decorations? Well, then I started to piece my plan together. And I was like, we are going to have a Valentine's Day night in. And I'm going to cook and prepare his favorite foods. I was like, I could set up like a little romance fort for us. And just like use sheets and just build a fort for us to eat in and have some drinks and desserts. And I can decorate it all cute. We've definitely had really fun Valentine's Days by going out and, you know, going to a nice restaurant. But I think it would be kind of fun to switch it up a little bit and stay in on Valentine's Day. So I have a heart-shaped barbecue chicken pizza, chocolate covered strawberries, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and cocktails. Matt doesn't know anything about this. I mean, he knows that I'm planning the date. Now I'm kind of like, oh, shoot, I really got to pull this together. So, yes, I think I'm going to start next on the cookies because then I can do other stuff while they're baking. I hope it's good. Oh, I think these are going to be good. I just want to have a little disclaimer here while we're making cookies together. You don't need Valentine's Day. Like I know you can celebrate your husband, your boyfriend, your special person any day. You don't need Valentine's Day to do that. Yet, come on, it's just kind of fun. And, you know, let's be real. I'm not going to go to this degree for a date just any day of the year. Come on, I can do one day, and that day is Valentine's Day. Okay, I'm just going to not overload this pan because I made these cookies, like, bigger than they were probably supposed to be. But, ooh, ooh, I want to show you something. Grandma Sharon got us some Valentine's Day oven mitts, and I want to use that. What? She put chocolates in the oven mitt. Now that's just so cute. It's Valentine's Day, it just keeps getting better and better. I have a feeling I'm not going to need this much dough. It's a ton. I'm doing it. Oh, my gosh. Okay, okay. Now I'm getting more and more nervous about creating this fort. I know there's going to be some people that are going to notice the fact that we still have a Christmas tree in our living room. And I have no comment for you people. I'm just as confused as you are. This is going to be trial and error. Oh, my gosh. Why didn't I have just taken that out to dinner? Wait, what? You've got to be kidding me. I thought we had a flat sheet. I don't know, you guys, but just know that I'm going to get back to you when I have a better plan of action. I need to change and check. So Matt clearly thinks we're going out, which was my intentions. Like, I've been kind of, like, trying to make him think that. I'm just drizzling some final barbecue sauce on the pizza. In the meantime, I've made the pizza. I have built the fort as good as it's going to look. I mean, I tried my best. And I, like, sprinkled a little path with rose petals from the door to, like, the fort, and it was just cracking me up as I was just sprinkling them. Oh, baby. I also pureed some fruit and, like, got the seeds out of it, because that's going to be part of our drink that I don't even know if we're going to like, because we don't really drink much at all. Why am I so nervous? Like, I mean, I see him all the time. So I want to show you what I have. I'm actually kind of proud of it. Obviously, everything isn't perfect, but, you know. He's going to walk in the door. There's rose petals leading all the way. Heart pizza, cookies, special drink, which I poured literally everywhere. Yay. I can't leave him waiting much longer, so I'm going to go change into my little Valentine's Day outfit and then let him come on up because, I mean, he's literally waiting downstairs because it took me too long. So I'm going to have to put the camera somewhere and then, yeah, we'll see what he thinks. Yay. Hello. We're staying in tonight. Don't cry. It's a fun night. I love you. And then, I mean, the wine's from Aldi, so. I was like, we don't know the difference between cheap wine and a good one. Well, you crushed it. And then I said, the other thing, I was like, is a video. That would make Matt happiest. You're so sweet. So then I was like, okay, I'm going to record it. And then I was like, we've been so busy, like, it'd be really fun to have a night in. And so, yeah.
