SpaceX's NEW Major Design Changes on Military Starship...
Breaking news: Starship is no longer just a ship to Mars. Its potential has prompted the US military to ask SpaceX to design a new upgraded version specifically for their missions.
how will SpaceX design ‘militarized’ Starship?
How Starship will change the world's military?
Find out in today's episode of Alpha Tech:
SpaceX's NEW Major Design Changes on Military Starship...
It has been four weeks since the old launch facility at Space Launch Complex 37, officially demolished. The site was previously operated under the official management of ULA for the launch of their Delta IV and then Delta IV Heavy rockets. However, ULA completely terminated its contract and returned control of the facility shortly after the last Delta IV Heavy launch - NROL-70 mission. The Air Force quickly released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for SpaceX Starship Super Heavy launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station to clarify its vision for a future where Starship plays a key role in destination-to-destination missions.
SpaceX's NEW Major Design Changes on Military Starship...
SpaceX’s takeover of ULA’s SLC-37 for future Starship launches has caught the attention of the industry. This will be the third launch site for Starship that will be developed. Approximately 76 missions are planned for the site each year, primarily military operations.
Interestingly, the two towers planned for construction here are said to be 180 meters tall each. This means it will be about 33.7 meters taller than the A Tower currently operating at Starbase Texas.
Why? Are they planning for another bigger Starship?,
Yes, according to the EIS, the Starship version that will operate on this launch pad will be about 150 meters tall, or 493 feet, with the Super Heavy being 80 meters tall, and the Starship upper stage being about 70 meters.
