Bizarre Break-In: Man jumps through front window of store

Certainly scary. It was shocking. Shocking video tonight as a man jumps clear through the front window of a store in Pottstown. From outside, you see the man run across High Street. From inside, you see the man crash through the window and start throwing merchandise. So, the glass people were here yesterday. The store is Danny B. Funky and Danny Small is the owner. She got an alert from her alarm company on Thursday morning and pulled up her surveillance video. I looked at the camera and then I started shaking. She watched as a barefoot man trashed her store, grabbing everything in sight, throwing it through the broken window. We had uh the wooden shelves all the way through. So, they came crashing down. The glass came crashing down. And then he just started, it looked like he was in a total panic. So, he just started destroying, throwing, smashing. At one point, he even laid down before getting back up and leaving through the window he smashed. We've learned he was later taken to the hospital for serious cuts before being arrested and arraigned. As you can imagine, Small had to spend most of the day cleaning up and taking inventory, but she had some help from the community. And you might think after watching this video that she would be upset, but the sign out front says it all. Hearts open even when windows are broken. We feel the love and the support and so many people reached out online. So that is super duper cool. Yeah, they really are taking it in stride. Now, the owner told me that she was told by police that the man may have been under the influence. We are waiting to learn more about the charges he faced and could be a little while before they get this fixed. We're live tonight in Pottstown, John Paul, Channel 6 Action News. Brian, yeah, that video is hard to watch, but those are some really, really good people you talked to there today. John, thank you.
