HONEST opinion on FILIPINO Veggie Delivery during the QUARANTINE in Manila

this is hi fred and it is a fresh produce delivery here in manila and today i'm going to review it and point out the good the bad and the ugly just kidding guys what i'm going to do is to review these products and give you an overview in five disciplines the ordering process the pricing the quality the taste and of course the overall satisfaction so let's jump into this video [Music] welcome back to my channel guys i'm nelly from nelly's life maybe you know me from our main channel making it happen vlog and i have my own channel here where i just do you know a little bit more girly stuff so i thought about topics that i can post uh during the pandemic since i've been using the high fred delivery service for quite some while now i would say three months i think i can give you a really really good overview point out the pros the cons and also i wanted to mention that this video is not sponsored i have not received any products for free whatsoever i paid for every single delivery and that's why i feel like i'm uh i can give you a really good honest opinion so what is actually highfred high freddy is a fresh produce delivery here in manila and as you can see they deliver different veggies and fruits to your doorstep freshly picked from farms here in the philippines but they also saw some products uh internationally but i'm trying to shop local as much as possible okay so i'm going to walk you through the first thing that you should know is the website website is highfred.ph and you can just go on there um scroll through all the products and see what you want to buy um you have to be very aware of the amounts sometimes it's just you know in grams sometimes it's just a bundle or um but just be very careful with how much you order because it happened to me that i ordered too much because i wasn't paying close attention to the amounts and in case you don't want to order the products by itself you can also choose from boxes that they have so they have a veggie box fruit box staples box juicing box i think and then one combined box with veggies and fruits i tried them but i have to say i want to stick to my my chosen products that i use on a regular basis because last time when i ordered the predefined boxes i didn't use it up and yeah i just had a few products that i didn't know that well and didn't know how to prepare it it was just uh in the fridge and i just yeah i didn't prepare them but the boxes are a little bit cheaper if you order them okay so once you order you will receive a confirmation email saying when the delivery will be at the doorstep how much money you have to prepare so in my case i ordered uh cash on delivery which was in my case 2200 pesos and um they're giving you regular updates uh as a reminder that you will receive uh delivery on that day it happens or it happened to me that i forgot that i will get a delivery um but luckily they have several notifications just to make you just to remind you that you're going to receive something so i think i received five or six i also reach out to you via sms so if you have any questions you can directly communicate via sms with them and also if you don't make it home in time because of traffic for example which was for me the case you can contact them and say hey i'm stuck in traffic i will be at home in like 20 minutes um but if you order cashless meaning if you order if you pay via gcash for example they can just deliver it to your doorstep and that's it okay at the very beginning i received all the veggies in boxes which i really liked more right now i'm receiving them in these bags which is okay but um i'm not quite sure if it's good for the fruits and veggies so i got wow oh i got a really really nice pineapple but yeah the next point on our list is the pricing so i was told the pricing is a little bit um over the average but it always depends how you look at it if i go to the supermarket here at ruston's or landmark or anywhere else veggies are actually quite pricey or when you compare it with market prices and also market prices here in legaspi village and sulcedo village differ from other market prices in metro manila okay and just to give you a comparison what i got for 2 200 pesos i'm going to spread all my purchases on a table and show you what i got let's get started okay pineapple whoa i got some really really nice parsley so much wow then we have some celery huge huge radish basil got a lot of vitamin c got some lemons also got some oranges one of my favorite fruits lately pomelo i'm i am obsessed with pomelos it's the perfect snack and the first one that i ordered almost tasted like gummy bears which is uh really really nice um i'm not sure if this one is ripe yet so i think this will stay for a little bit okay this is the first time that i got something wrapped in plastic these are shiitake mushrooms it is also the first time that i received the apples wrapped in this thingy which is not necessary in my opinion so far i've always received everything without any additional packaging without any plastic and i actually admired the company a lot for that but [Music] this all fruits and veggies have their natural skin it doesn't have to be wrapped in plastic then i also got some broccoli then something that i really love making in the oven is cauliflower i also like to make cauliflower cauliflower rice and you can even make pizza with cauliflower this one is a really really nice and big piece i also got some cabbage one zucchini some cherry tomatoes these are not 100 ripe yet but let's see some gigantic gigantic carrots some more tomatoes these look a little bit more ripe and some green beans from baguio so yeah this is the complete um order and so far everything looks all right uh the only thing that doesn't look that great is the celery so it looks a little bit sad otherwise we come to the next point quality okay so far everything that i have ordered came in a very very good condition and usually when i go to the market it happens sometimes that i have mold on the veggies and fruits or something is rotten and or something is just not in an overall good condition but i mean this radish looks perfect these carrots look perfect there is nothing on here and they taste really really delicious zucchini is firm looks all right something that i really like to have a closer look at is the broccoli the broccoli looks perfectly healthy the heads are a little bit small but i think that's just a type of broccoli here and also if i have a closer look at the cauliflower it looks perfectly fine there are no there is nothing nothing bad below here the herbs look also super fresh freshly harvest harvested so this is perfect the last time i ordered parsley it lasted two weeks in the fridge so that's perfect the beans also look perfectly fine to me no worms nothing there's also no mold on the pineapple so that's good and there are two things that i want to point out uh the tomatoes the cherry tomatoes are not ripe yet so maybe they should put it on hold while and give it some time to um to get ripe and also basil uh it's in general a little bit difficult to have like basil nicely looking fresh because it deteriorates very very quickly um so i think i'm going to cut this and freeze it so it stays good also the celery looks a little bit sad but otherwise quality looks alright no bad surprises and also this one looks perfectly fine so my orders always are around 1 800 to 2 200. and this amount of veggies and fruits lasts for i would say a week or even longer and now comes the last part the taste okay now comes the most important part taste so i've tried a few veggies and fruits here in manila and i have to admit those from the supermarket taste watery so i don't i don't really taste the the sweetness of the apples i don't really taste the sweetness of carrots but with high fred i have really crunchy nice sweet carrots um these apples are also super crunchy super fresh and one of my favorites the pomelo is really phenomenal it just needs to ripe properly but otherwise those pomelos are the best that i had so far and the broccolis that i got from high fred are also phenomenal in the oven i love it when i put it in the oven and it's just caramelizes and gets like this really really nice um slightly sweet flavor and also same with the zucchini so the zucchinis from the supermarket that i used to buy uh were super watery had no taste whatsoever but these are perfect for grilling perfect for like every single dish so that's why i'm sticking with high fred we tried a few others we tried coop grocer um which i wasn't a huge fan of when it comes to fresh produce but i liked the um the pantry things all the packaged things that you can buy but i think i'm going to stick with veggies and fruits with high fred okay overall satisfaction is as you can see uh pretty good i know they have some things that they can work on i also made the effort to reach out to them on instagram and just say hey i want to give you some feedback for the last delivery and are really really happy to hear customers feedback and since then they also improved a few things i have to say i haven't ordered the seafood and the meat i did it once at the very beginning i wasn't that happy but i submitted the feedback and i said oh this wasn't stored properly during the delivering process so it melted a little bit so yeah i'm not sure if they changed it if you want to order some meat and seafood order in small batches and see how you like it but i can't really give you feedback on that right now because i haven't ordered it since then but overall um high fred is my stick to uh veggie and fruit delivery service so if you want to give it a try give it a try
