Welcome to Block 7. Today, we're diving into a unique residence that strikes a perfect balance
between the strength of modern structure and the warmth of nature. This is Casa Flecha,
a home designed by Mora Hughes Architectos, located in Chacras de Coria, Argentina. More
than just a dwelling, this is a contemporary retreat crafted to harmonize with its natural
flowing concept centered around social gathering. The architecture features a series of gabled
volumes that appear distinct, yet together form a harmonious and cohesive composition.
This strategy allows for different functional zones to be separated while still maintaining
cladding, creating a bold and industrial yet elegant look. Glass and perforated metal panels
introduce transparency, reinforcing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces,
while also ensuring optimal natural ventilation. Comfort and visual relationships with the
The careful arrangement of the building masses generates outdoor spaces like courtyards,
terraces, and transitional paths that link the volumes. These in-between areas not only enrich
the experience of moving through the home but also create quiet moments and opportunities for
direct interaction with nature. Inside, you're welcomed by a warm and organic atmosphere.
Wood dominates the walls and ceilings, providing a sense of comfort and grounding that contrasts
beautifully with the cool metal exterior. Polished concrete floors maintain visual
continuity and lend a clean, modern character to the interiors.
One standout feature is the mezzanine above the main area,
where a workspace and relaxing lounge are tucked under a canopy of greenery.
This refreshing corner is perfect for reflection,
reading, or simply enjoying a peaceful pause. In the main social space, a central wood-burning
stove becomes the heart of the home, inviting togetherness and warmth, especially during
colder months. Beyond the interiors, the house places a strong emphasis on outdoor living.
A jacuzzi and open-air shower offer a chance to connect with nature,
creating a relaxing experience rarely found in urban homes. A dedicated grill area further
reinforces the home's identity as a place for celebration, social interaction, and quality
time with family and friends. More than architecture, Casa Fletcher reflects a
lifestyle centered on flexibility, sustainability, and emotional connection to the environment.
It shows how design can soften the boundary between structure and landscape,
creating a home that's not only beautiful but also grounding and serene.
