According to a high school teacher, a student’s statement that “only women menstruate” is merely an opinion. Why are we told to “follow the science” but then mandated to ignore basic biology? As common sense takes a backseat to subjectivity, we are witnessing the death of truth in our culture. What are the implications for society when everything—from gender to the Hamas attacks of October 7—is a matter of opinion?
hi everybody Dennis Prager and fireside
chat number
335 335 good to be with you
all and as you probably know by now I
open up with some thoughts on what is on
my mind at that moment and then take
your
questions I do want to remind you
incidentally that I try to make I have
tried from the beginning to make every
fireside
chat sort of timeless
not sort of actually Timeless even
though it might be rooted in some event
of of the moment like during the
lockdowns I spoke about how bad the
lockdowns were I turned out to be right
incidentally which is very important
because people should have credibility
or lose credibility based on positions
that they take and I was right about how
bad lockdowns were for society and for
children but anyway I'm only mentioning
this because
it's worth going back to earlier
Fireside Chats for a lot of good ideas
that I hope permeate every single
episode so as most of you probably know
I've been doing a radio talk show for 40
years it's not possible to overstate how
valuable talking with not to talking
with so many people has been informing
my understanding of The Human Condition
and I I this is I it sounds like a boast
and if you hear it as a boast that's
fine but the the question is not whether
it's a boast but whether it's true and
it's true I am convinced I have spoken
with not to with more people than any
living human being 40 years as a talk
show host makes that
possible so I just had a show and two
people called in
and I'd like to share with you what they
told
me one
was a young mother of a high school
girl she told me that her High School
senior in high school
daughter had said in in one of her
classes I don't know the context but it
doesn't
matter only women
menstruate and the teacher said to her
that's your
opinion next
story a woman called
in an older woman she had just gone to
her doctor and she had filled in those
forms that you fill in now usually on a
on a computer or an iPad or
whatever
and one of the questions was what gender
do you identify
as
and she went over to the receptionist
and said I just want to tell you I don't
identify as a woman I am a woman and the
receptionist in the doctor's office said
that's your
opinion the exact same words two
different
situations being told that's your
opinion so what what does this mean this
is why I'm telling you the story
these
stories it means that truth doesn't
exist any
longer if whether you're a man or a
woman is no longer a truth proposition
but an
opinion truth doesn't
exist it's as Oprah Winfrey has often
said it's my truth or your truth but of
course your truth and my truth often
means no truth right that's the same as
my opinion hey this is a reminder that
to see the rest of the fireside chat go
to prageru.com the reason we do it is
that we don't trust big Tech not to pull
the plug on prageru it's we want to get
people to
start watching at prageru to start
watching the firesight chat or every
every other thing we do so get the
prageru app that's the easiest or just
go to prageru.com see you there
