99-year-old WWII veteran reflects on Iwo Jima’s 80th anniversary

A HERO 🇺🇸 World War II veteran William “Buck” Myers is 99 years old and from South Philadelphia. He was wounded during the battle of Iwo Jima and still remembers it all.

Buck is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather. He was the inspiration for his grandson, who recently returned from Iraq, to join the military.

He recently reunited with the granddaughter of a fellow vet for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima.
