AI GeneratedPhiladelphia man Jabir Parker has been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary at Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's home and two other high-end jewelry thefts in Montgomery County. Police used surveillance footage, geo-fencing technology, and search history to link Parker to the crimes, which resulted in the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry.
There's a break in the attempted burglary case at the Chester County home of Eagles star running back
Saquon Barkley. An arrest has now been made. Two other burglaries on the main line led police to
a Philadelphia man. Action News reporter Catherine Scott has the details from Lower Marion Police.
Technology in various forms played a role in this investigation. I'll get to that in just a moment
but we now know the two burglaries here in Lower Marion Township are connected to that attempted
burglary at Saquon Barkley's home. This investigation is ongoing but there still
could be two to three more suspects out there. 24-year-old Jabir Parker of Philadelphia is under
arrest in connection to the attempted burglary at the Tredyffrin Township home of Eagles running
back Saquon Barkley in the early hours of July 18th. Barkley and his family were home but no
one was injured. I'm glad to know that the culprit was apprehended and that he and his family
will be left alone. Parker is also accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth
of jewelry and burglaries at two homes in Montgomery County. On June 22nd in Bryn Mawr 12
pieces of jewelry including necklaces from Tiffany's and Cartier were stolen with an estimated
value in all of $106,700. On July 5th at a home in Wynwood police say 28 pieces of jewelry including
David Uriman diamond earrings were taken all worth more than an estimated $687,000.
A safe was also stolen. The homeowners were not at home. It sounds as though they're experienced
if not pros they're not just looking for spending money. According to court documents investigators
viewed interior and exterior surveillance cameras including a nanny cam which captured a male voice
Also through a technique known as geo-fencing detectives subpoenaed a list of all cell phones
in use on the exact date time and location of each burglary. Investigators say Parker's cell
phone was the only one that matched all three crime scenes. Detectives say Parker also googled
phrases like do touchscreen gloves leave fingerprints and rental car and after the
burglaries he allegedly googled what he stole including a Rolex watch just 53 minutes after
the theft. The investigation also traced a white SUV to a car rental in Philadelphia
which was returned approximately an hour and a half after the attempted burglary at the Barclays.
Bail was set at one million dollars cash and Parker was remanded he's expected back in court
next week. In Lower Marion Township Catherine Scott Channel 6 Action News.
