
Lessons of the Lines: Sword in Two Hands: The Six Dissimilar Guards

This week we take an initial look at the six dissimilar guards of Fiore's sword in two hands. In this video we introduce them and I share how the balance of these grips also assist in the learning to use other long arms such as the Lanza and the Azza. I share that I see these as the work up sets no different than getting stronger in fitness. It is my theory that the sword is like the 135lb bench press lift to get to the 225lb lift of the Lanza and Azza. In following weeks we will be looking at how to employ them, change into them, and how to fight out of them.
