hi Lori here today we are going to be doing another Halloween wreath so
Halloween is quickly approaching and I thought it would just be fun to do
another one we have all kinds of cute little things to put in it
okay so I called this wreath Halloween just because not really no one else to
call it don't have this special order and I thought it was really unique and
fun so I thought it'd be fun to do together so I've got a request for an
all-black wreath with skull and crossbones so I got this really cute
ribbon see the little skull and crossbone I have my black mesh I'm going
to use a 15 to 24 inch work wreath with the pencil black I have some black
tubing what I thought I would do since I didn't get specifics about what style
thought I would have a little fun what I'm gonna do is I am going to cut this
21 is 21 inch mesh oh and I didn't show you this I have black roses how cool are
those so I'm going to take this mesh and
I'm gonna cut it every 10 inches because we are going to do a fun method okay
step we're gonna cut this every two notches so I'm going to start back in
the Queen edge just makes measuring a lot easier and you know I'm using my
cutting mat because it just makes everything easier it has the
measurements on it I can use my rotary cutter it will not get damaged so I'm
gonna need to cut well let's see so I'll need 10 for the bottom and I'm going to
need 16 through the top so we're gonna need 26 of these so I'm gonna make 26 of
these 10 inch cuts so I will do that off camera because I don't think it's
necessary for you to watch me cut this way six times and then when I come back
I'm gonna show you what we're gonna do it's gonna be a lot of fun so I'll be
back shortly okay I have them all cut so now we can start putting it together
all right so I'm not sure if I have shown this one or not but I am going to
start on the bottom left one to go around to open up on my ties make sure
they're ready so I don't have to try to open them on work okay all right now
this is what we're going to do so I know I have shown you how to do the poof curl
so we're going to do this a little bit different we're going to take our mesh
the way it likes to roll and we're going to pull it on an angle tuck it in and
we're going to make a poof on the bottom just like this and we're going to have
the little petals coming out to the side so I will just go down to my wreath and
I will tie them just like this now the same with the other one you want to make
sure that that poof is down is
down so that you're not having to try to stretch it out and it's at the top okay
see that so that's what we're going to do says it's very similar to the curl
except you're just pulling it I kind of tucking this in and then the pouf is
coming from it's that little tuck in so you want to make sure that this open end
right here is down so it's going down and your pouf will stay good so you just
go back in to the one you were just in put the next petal on tighten it back
down and go to the next one like that see that create your little girl there
that's it curl I'm it poof okay so again pull it tuck these in and then make your
little petals on the ends my back that will open right there is your pouf you
just go back in put it right on top of the last one then go to the next one
just like that
so you do not need to when you're doing the one that has the curl you really
kind of have to pull out and fluff your pouf but with this method you really
don't you can just leave it just like it is so I'm just going to go around the
bottom doing the exact same thing so I'll just keep working on that and then
when I come back we're going to do the same thing on the top but we're going to
do it twice so it's very similar to the one that I did that has the pouf in the
curl it's just that this is a pouf petal so see you just pull it like this tuck
those in and then just grab those ends it's like that make that wool petal and
then your pouf kind of makes itself naturally when you pull that pebble so
put it down on top of that one then go to the next one so I'll do these last
few and then when I come back we will do the second layer and then we're gonna do
another lay on top of that Dartmouth that I'll be right back okay so I've
gotten the first one on you see how cute that is with the little kind of petal
starburst effect there like that so we're gonna do the same thing on this
top layer and we're gonna do this twice the obvious we'll start with the first
one so I'm just gonna do the same thing the way it likes to roll pull it apart
tuck in the middle and then pinch the two sides to make that little petal then
I'll just
go in put it down
I'm only doing like one good twist because I'll be going back in these to
put in this side and this side are not gonna do it again so there's no sense of
making it real tight right now okay so same thing just take it pull it
apart tuck in the middle and then pinch in those sides
you always want to make sure that this middle part is going down like that
otherwise it's going to be very difficult you'll have a very hard time
with that with that piece and I can tell you that that is something I learned the
hard way the first time I tried these things okay so I'll do one more and then
I will go and finish that and then I'll come back and I'll show you how I'm
going to start the top and then we can decorate it all right so pull tuck in
the middle pitch on the sides creating that little pouf in the middle go back
into the one they were just in
and then to the next one okay so I will finish the rest of this
top and then when I come back we'll put in one more layer and then we'll be
ready to do some decorating missing I like this it makes a very full
interesting reason I'm not sure I've shown you this method so I thought it'd
be something fun to do so I'll be back okay so I've got the two layers on it
looking cool so now I'm gonna go across the top one more time and the reason I
do that is because you see right now if you look at it you can still really see
through here so putting one more layer on pushes everything down and kind of
covers that middle layer that normally would be covered by other methods so I'm
just gonna do the same thing just gonna take my mesh pull it apart tuck the
edges in and then pinch the sides okay now I'm just gonna pick a point I'll
just start here I'm gonna go back into that tie put this down and then I can
tie it off I don't want to type too many times because I will be putting ribbon
in so as I'm doing it I'm going to be pushing the one that's already in there
down so that it almost forms three layers you see how much better that
looks than this so that's why we do that okay sound do it one more time and then
I'll go off and finish the rest so pull apart tuck in the middle
Finch
and go back in
okay
all right then on this side put that down
now of course this wreath was a you know custom request so it's all black but you
don't have to do all black you know you could do any color you wanted to but
this is a really cute little method and you could do Halloween you could do a
following like this you could do a Christmas one like this and just you
could do all one color you could do several different colors that looks
really great too so I'm gonna finish putting a second layer on the top and
then when I get back we're gonna cut some ribbon and put some ribbon on it I
also have some fun mesh tubing and I have these awesome black roses I got
these from trendy tree I just love these I suppose you're so cool so we're gonna
have fun doing a black out top okay I've gotten it all on isn't that look cute I
love it I love this method this is an awesome method okay
so I've decided that this is the cord I'm gonna put on hey everybody this is
my husband John okay okay so I decided I wanted to use this tubing here because
it will stand out if I am this tubing you might not even be able to see it so
having an all-black wreath is awesome however if you put things on there and
you can't see them it really doesn't do you any good so that's what I'm gonna do
them to use this tubing and I have this ribbon here with the skulls on it and I
have this ribbon that has the crossbones on it so I'm only going to use these two
which is unusual for me but it's the only ones that I could really find that
kind fit the theme of what she wanted but I
did want to show you this because you know I like to give options and I saw
this the other day isn't that cute one can't look is in the middle of this
race of this all-white race I mean how cool is that I like that a lot
I might have to make another wreath just to have hit them in the middle of it so
I wanted to show you that it would be really cute if you had some ribbon that
has stripes in it that would be cute so I want to show you that I'll put him
away alright so I am going to cut my ribbon I don't have a ton of this so I
think I want to do ya think of 12 inches fine so I'm just going to do 12 inch
because hopefully I can get a little bit more out of it by doing the 12 inch so
I'm just going to use my whole tool that I made this is cinch cardboard so I just
wrap it around here
so that I can get some ribbon cut
now my my friend who customer who I'm making this for was very specific about
what she wanted in it so I am strictly gonna stick with this ribbon because she
wants all black and she wants skull and crossbones so that's what we're doing
and I think it's gonna turn out really cute just folding it over a little
detail okay okay well I'm not gonna make you watch me cut all this ribbon so I
will go off camera and cut all this ribbon up and then when I come back
we're gonna put the ribbon on it and we're gonna put this tubing on it I love
to use tubing that's just fun and I have to look at it look at this guy and he
lights up look at okay so I'll be back and we will put a ribbon on and we still
have our roses so I'll be back shortly okay so I have all of my ribbon cut
whoops sorry I'm making the mess here okay so how about my ribbon cut I just
have to - so I'm just going to take then find the middle pinch I'm going to start
on the bottom and I'm just going to go in each tie and put my tea ribbons down
and then I'm gonna tie these off a good two or three times then I'll just
stretch out my ribbons so you can see both of them see my like this because
they're black and white so they'll show up and they'll kind of pop in this
all-black wreath because it's black in one so I always start at the bottom I
don't know why no reason
I'll just get through pull all my ribbons out
then you're doing ribbon streamers you really want to be able to see the ribbon
so you just kind of pull them out and then if you have wire in them you can
just kind of use that to make them stand up just helps helps you to see them
you
so I'm just gonna go around put all my ribbons in since I'm using the same two
ribbons around the whole wreath it's not really anything significant to show you
so I will go off camera and keep putting these in and then when I get back we'll
put some deco tubing in and put some roses in and then we'll see how it looks
okay so I've gotten that ribbon around the bottom so I'm just gonna do the same
thing on the top I'll just find the metal that's gonna pick a point and
start there
so I'll just do the same thing brighten everything out I want to be able to see
both of these cute ribbons because they are cute okay I'm just going to keep
going around all right so I'll keep cutting this ribbon in and then when I'm
done I'll come back and we'll start working on wrist okay so I've got
another ribbon on it is so cute I really like this ribbon that's really
cute okay so now I want to put so Bella was
laying on the tubing but here we go all right so I want to take this tubing
and I want to cut Oh we're gonna cut 36 inch okay all right
I'm going to cut will start with 4
so I'm just cutting them if they're about 36 inches
you want to have enough because what I like to do is I'll make like double
loops kind of like you're tying a package
like this
there we go okay so I'll just take this and I'll just go in at I open it back up
and tie this down right on top of the ribbon and then I will tie that back and
kind of pull out the deco mesh so you can see it right there all right so when
I am doing something like this and I'm not going to be doing it in everyone
what I like to do is I like to go across so I have one here I want to put one
here and the reason I do that is because it will balance it out so you just kind
of go across so we'll do it here so if you're ever wondering how to put
things in a wreath that's what you need to do you just need to balance it out
try and go across and then
it will be balanced kind of like a clock if you had a clock you would want to go
to the three the nine so like this like that so that those two see those are
working together so now I want to do one here and one here and then we kind of
have four corners I like that now you know it's really great to decorate in
threes but when you're on a wreath those same rules don't really apply it's just
kind of a different different world for Rhys
you cannot need to stick with threes it's kind of better to have more even
numbers when you're doing a wreath than it is to do odd okay so we've got one
here so we want to do one here okay look what are the piece code there it is I
kind of got lost all right
okay
so I want to go here see and then we'll be bounced out I'm just kind of alright
so we've got we've got our four pieces in there that looks really cute okay so
now I think let's add some of these this is fun I'm just going to cut a few off I
want to cut some that have this white on it because if I just put black in there
it's just going to blend in so I want the pieces that have some white on them
because that will help make it stand out and the end the green of course so let's
see the green will contrast and so will the white and that's what would what you
want so I'm just going to take these and make a little kind of hook in it like
that and then what I can do is I can take by tie and just tie around that
and make that hook work for me like that see you now I want this I want their
rows to kind of stand out a little bit like this okay and I want to do it in
ones that do not have the tubing that Minh gonna go I'm gonna go to the ones
that don't have the teething I'm going to tie around that little hook I made so
I can make sure it's tight in there very tight and what I will do is I will come
back and I will put a little hot glue in there make sure that's not gonna go
anywhere I can also take my little pliers and just kind of pull that hook I
made and make sure it stays closed okay so here I have another one so make that
little hook see that's a little hook I made I'm gonna go into this one and I'm
just tying my pipe cleaners right around that hook
all right there we go so I have three roses tied him back I'll get one more
you know with the wreath I really kind of like to keep it deep I really like to
try to keep it even just because that kind of works out better all right yeah
just go here I did the same thing just tie these in I'm just wrapping the pipe
cleaner around okay then I always straighten my see that looks so cute I
like that okay so I am ready to put the sign in the middle so I'm just kind of
kind of push everything out a little bit like this and here is the sign I'm
putting in the middle so see it's all rough which is fine I'm gonna kind of
stick it down in here but this is kind of the this is the kind of theme that
she wanted something roughing skull and crossbones so it works for what we're
working with I also have a little skull and crossbone
I found I thought he was cute I actually it was just the let's go on crossbones
I glued a little bit of white on the back just to make it stand out so what
I'm gonna do with this here is I'm going to drill some holes in the inner corners
see I'll move it here so you can see so I have my drill has a very fine bit in
it so I'm just going to drill a hole in the four corners so I want to be careful
because this sign is it's pressboard with a with a sign glued on it so I
didn't want to be too hard with it or it would break so then I'm just gonna take
some floral wire cut this and I'm just gonna run it through this hole
I'll go around the back and tie it on like that so I'm going to do that in all
four corners and of course this time I'm is rough-looking
on purpose because that is what was needed in this wreath
but what I want you to take away from this is how to attach a sign and how to
make this type of wreath it is a really cute method to make it just makes a nice
full wreath regardless of what kind of wreath it is so just remember whether
you're trying to make a Halloween or Christmas or fall or summer whatever it
is that you're making you can still use this same method okay so one more we'll
attach it we've done this wreath to me I'm kind of thinking that this as the
wicked wreath hey these are all like that okay so I
have them all tied off in the back here and I'm gonna do is figure out kind of
where I want it to be in the wreath and then I will just take this wire and I
will just kind of move things apart and run it down right to the base
pull it through get it in place
and I will flip it over in a minute and show you what I did but kind of all I'm
doing is taking this wire and wrapping it around I want to get a couple corners
done before I show you so that I won't accidentally move my side so
I'll tell you sometimes what I do when I'm doing these if I am attaching the
side and it is a wreath that I'm afraid that the wire would show through I will
spray paint the wire it is very easy to do okay so now I can show you have this
tie pretty light okay so if you look from the back all I'm doing is running
this wire to my frame here and just tying it around just want to tie it a
couple bit times you can cut your wire off and then just continue to wrap its
light back here's the one I did earlier
now tell you this floral wire it's very inexpensive so I do have a tendency to
cut way more than I need and that's just because I just rather have too much
because there is nothing worse than not having enough so
just wrap this around this light Mack
look at that alright okay one left so I'll just pull this back stick it down
there here make sure it's still in a good spot then I'll bring it around the
back I've tied off there we go alright so now we have our sign Tynan alright so
there we go don't ever sign where we want it to go and pull this up you can
see the whole thing so there it is there is our wicked wreath I like it I think
it turned out cute very different this is perfect for Halloween I kind of like
these rough edges so hopefully she'll like it and you have to tell me what you
think and if you've come up with something that you can do so make sure
