Best Caulking for Installing Windows

hey guys sean with american window concepts and in this video i'm going to show you the types of caulking that we use and it's specifically for vinyl windows doors the first thing i want to show you our max shield all weather and it's clear now the clear caulking i like to use for our primary seal which is going to be underneath the retrofin flange itself and it's on the main frame so the reason i use clear for that is because this has a higher stretch rate than anything else so this can stretch 900 percent when it's dry so 900 of the the caulking line itself can actually stretch so what that's going to do is it's going to prevent seal failures in the future as far as from the the retro flange you know water coming in this is going to protect against the water intrusion when it's rainy or you're washing your window down so you're going to always see me using this underneath where you will never see but this is going to hold up to all weather and it stretches 900 percent the other we use this on the outside and on the inside now this is a max shield also but it's white now the most work that we do is like 95 percent white frames inside and out so we get a lot of this stuff this has a stretchability rate of 800 and it's paintable this is a siliconized acrylic so it's water-based so you're able to use the the painters techniques where they're using you know moist sponges and then you're able to make sure you have extremely clean caulking lines using this stuff here one of our attributes to the business is our caulking lines our finished look it's this stuff is amazing this here you can get this at lowe's home depot this is what we use for our doors so if you're going to replace a door and you're going to put a new door in you have to line the bottom underneath the track with plenty of this this liquid nails now what this does is make sure that the support underneath that door frame is not floppy it's not going to move around on you it's secured to the concrete or sub-floor where that door is sitting on you must must apply this under the sill pan over the sill pan and ultimately your door right on top um and we'll do a video in the future of how to install a door the way we do it which is the right way our eco flex 9500 now this stuff here is polyurethane and it's a hybrid polyurethane this stretches really really well specific for windows and doors vinyl windows and doors so this has a great great stretchability rate um is going to not shrink on you it's paintable and this here is just a fantastic if you live in an area where you get a lot of rain or something like that you want to use this because this is not going to break down on you at all none of these will either but this is just this is like your insurance card like this right here is just going to last you for a very very long time you can go to lowe's home depot different ace hardware's places and buy caulking but make sure that if you're going to get caulking for a vinyl window that you get great caulking don't go cheap on it because you know it'll split you know and you want to have something that has the ability to stretch really really well at least 500 i mean that's at bare minimum you know we're going 900 keep your eye on things like that and make sure that it's true to window and door you know you don't want to have anything that's you don't want to use this for the exteriors and interiors and things like that you'll it's just not going to work for you not on a window install underneath the door on the concrete yes but not to pin a window you would use these or these all right to install your window just be careful if you're gonna get caulking make sure that it's very specific to the job type of window that you're using we do primarily vinyl windows and so this is gonna be our caulking that we use if you live in the ventura santa barbara west la area and you're in need of some new vinyl windows and you would be interested in an estimate just reach out to us go to our website scroll down click the request for a quote and then we'll respond in about 24 hours thank you so much hey guys thanks again for watching this video if you want to be kept updated on new videos that are coming out just hit that like button and subscribe to the channel thank you so much you
