Do you have old wood windows from the 20s, 30s,
and you're thinking, is it worth it to get brand
new windows? Let's talk about that.
So the windows back in the 20s and 30s and 40s and 50s, you know,
you, they're actually a really pretty window.
Okay. They have the nice six degree slope sill.
They have some good depth to them. They're really pretty.
But the problem is there is no such thing
as weather stripping on those windows.
It's a single piece of glass that's usually plate glass,
which can be dangerous and very
wavy looking, and they don't offer any type
of performance against heat.
The other thing to consider about the older wood windows is,
well, they are much older now.
And if they're still operating really,
really well, maybe you've upkept them
and you've painted them, then they're probably holding up just fine.
But the question becomes,
when is it a good time to replace those windows with something
that's going to be very high energy efficient?
Well, the answer is, I would say it's
a really good time to get those replaced.

out really really nice. So it just comes down
