Giant MYSTIC GROUPER In THE CAYMAN ISLANDS (Catch/Clean/Cuisine)

Good Morrow, Liners...

This is the first episode of our trip to The Cayman Islands. We started in Grand Cayman targeting big deep-water snapper and grouper off of 7 Mile Beach. Cayman is truly a magical place with an amazing fishery. It's world famous for scuba diving and being an international tax haven, but it also offers incredible deep dropping just yards off shore. The drop off around the island is very fast and steep which makes it the perfect habitat for giant grouper. Mystic Grouper can be found anywhere from 600-1200 feet of water around humps and rock piles and are probably the best eating fish in The Caribbean. The wind was absolutely horrible but we pushed through. We spent the week fishing with captain Dominick Martin-Mayes from Cool Change Charters.
