Currie’s NORTH QUEENSLAND Adventure | 300 series LANDCRUISER review | Cairns NORTH QLD PART 1

well Cy and welcome back to another episode this is a bit of a different one going on a little Family Getaway there'll be some crabbing and fishing involved but we have a special addition to the trip we have the four-wheel drive Central 300 series Land Cruiser they want me to see what it's like in a little Family Getaway going to go up far North Queensland up to cans and Port Douglas and do the waterfalls and that up Panda so should be a good little trip we'll do some freshwater fishing we'll Chuck some crab pots in cuz I don't know if you can see this but right under there you see that sneaky glimpse of an ultimate Pro Crab Pot I don't know if the wife knows I packed them but I did that were the first thing in there but um we're about to wake the kiddos up as you can see she's fully loaded up we got some life jackets in there cuz I'm meeting up with some of me good friends up at tinaroo we're possibly going to do some tubing and whatnot but I won't tell you too much else we got a fun packed holiday for the little on and with a baby and two kids you got to pack heavy just in case but we got the essentials down here lovely we got our leftover red rooster for today some yogurt for the kids that's a full kitchen set up we don't know if we'll use that we might do one night camping but we'll just see how we go um yeah come along for the adventure it should be a good one the kids are excited and we'll test out the 300 series see what she's like I know we won't be doing too much four-wheel driving and whatnot but we'll test out the family friendliness on it so no more to say at the moment I will see you on the road our first stop will probably be card North qu to use there already had half a tank it's got a longrange fuel tank of course it does cuz it's a four-wheel drive Central and they've got everything but um we've got $171 at the first fuel stop so we'll round that up to say 300 to fill it probably a little bit more it's probably 200 L but we'll say $200 uh $300 we've put in it and and we'll see how we go with that going over the what's the range called c will range such a pretty view when we come down don't know how well you're going to be able to see it but that's all Greeks and esies and got really see it through the trees to be honest you get a couple of glimpses but trim up would be good for them yes it's such a beautiful range to go up and over coming card wellow look at that it is pretty flat out there not a drop of wind oh should have bought three bongs up should have bought three bongs up it's not about fishing this holiday though although I have snuck a few sneakies here but we are going to pull up at the famous stop for the crab Sanger the daughter reckon she's getting SC eggs and bacon hey you don't want to C sandwich I'll try it I'll try it you can have a oh you can have a little boy first little holiday hey AR a bit bright outside the car is it a bit bright near as big as the one I getting me crab pots Up on the Roof look that I've got a few of that size in me Crab Pot haven't I the old ultimate Pro Crab Pot it' fit in there I reckon take a few chickens to get that fell ined reing the little girl locked down how is that for a breakfast harsh Browns bacon she loves her scrambled eggs and here it is the piece of resistance the crab sandwich oh can't wait to get the ho around that we got chips and nugget for a big color and even Kelsey's having a feed can't wait to get the trumpers on it just a bit of C aost and rabbit food left for me oh goodbye Cardwell lovely place on planet Earth up here in North Queensland because it's none of them let's all see if we can guess it's a human a a human that was a good one his first one was turtle and we couldn't get it cuz it lived in the ocean but it came out of the ocean but it didn't have legs so he was correct cuz turtles have flippers she's had some good ones traveling well went through tul just outside in his fail so we shall be on the slides very slided out dad's all slided out from carrying their match and tubes up got to keep the wife happy if you know you know bloody df5 we can't check into the hotel yet so we're going to go get a feed and do some bandage she's real good at that all right we've just checked in the young Fell's unpacked and made himself a little room here happy with the room we'll chill out for a bit and we'll go for a swim he's got his soccer ball ready for the pool Little Miss is here chilling out watching some coke melon mom's always happy she just goes with the flow she's always happy and this thing doesn't sit still she's got a big bed to herself but can't complain we got a TV fridge in there everything we need I think this one cost us 360 for the two nights nice shower toilet bathroom so this is us we were going to get Place cool Roman villa Roman and the boy never eats like this he's smashing his SK we're still waiting for hours but that's fine how's your pizza good it's good I'll let you know the verdict on ours but not too bad so far he the boy is bit of Sur and tur we got some cine we got some Thorns some chippies and what did you get a snitch looks a bit FY y after dinner treats kids are ke have never had cold Rock Let's see what we going muster up in here looking around NTI in cans did the night markets kids spent a fortune we got a big cruise ship out there if you can see it I think it's a p cruise but that's pretty cool but yeah we're having fun I think this is a great idea nighttime SPS kids are down here checking the big boat out pretty cool can we take a picture are you two rat bags having fun or what take a picture got live music beautiful Christmas tree look at that K's putting it on for the cures are you big wheel over there big cruise ship out there lovely good morning day two of C's Little Getaway Adventure we are headed up to Harley's crocodile farm and Adventure Park so the kids ordered us macers for breakfast but Mom and Dad are going to yorky Knob Bakery so sounds like a good little place we're on our way there now but it should be a fun little day we'll try and get some footage of the crocodiles and whatever else we see that's a bit of fun York bakery zero stars out of 10 they're not bloody open so Curry's upset but we got another one around the corner here 5 minutes away blossoms Bakery Curry for a good P so is this your favorite song rainforest on one side and Beach on the other on the way to heartley is blossoms Bakery was a zero out of five stars they were open me and the wife both took one bite of our Pie looked at each other and said dog food so we're eating a c uh Vite scroll for us but Curry's Pro tip if you are driving on this road be very cautious there is always Road works and people breaking looking out at the ocean and not looking like I do but such a stunning view still even prettier when it's just glass like that should be fishing hey baby I love you guys just getting on the boat excited the crocodiles jump up right here see what I mean how you can't fall out yeah I told you it's cool someone stole me Sunny's apparently the sun's too bright we one more boat to go and then we're off that boat's off sticks spouses little children this is not the place all right guys now if anything happens to myself guys there is going to be a radio up here on the dash looks like any old radio press the black button on the side have a talk to admissions they'll then send another boat driver down to finish your to it that doesn't work there is going to be an air horn down here please aim it towards the front not the back if you do that you'll defen everyone on here and last but not least guys b a crck proof rope now the Crocs have been taught not to go past that line if they ever jump board so you're safe behind there I'm in the danger zone feeling safe now guys all righty do we have any first timers out here today guys yeah couple of you same here all right guys so this is our manmade Lagoon now it took about eight years to create it and before this it used to be all horse paddings was even a hippie camp at one point they did have a plantation but don't worry we disposed to that responsibly it's probably why it took 8 years to create it all right but shall we try and uh feed some crocodiles guys yeah see the cockades there me talking your ears off all right but I will be on both sides today so stay seated other side jump up have a look just please don't come rushing to one side I don't feel like any up as scro food today just there now we just got a bit of KFC on the menu today guys do KFC string this up see what type of mood this all right but this crocodile we've got here guys um her name's Oprah she's our largest female in the lagoon and she's around 3.2 m in length now how she got her name oah it's cuz she had really bad weight fluctuation a couple years ago terrible isn't it oh how cool is that where she go there she is she wants that KFC the KFC she's looking for oh lucky he's quick right we'll get a couple more jumps or movements out of Oprah here guys then we'll keep heading along trying to find another crocodile she goes again oh she comes all right one more should I give her the food this time [Music] here she goes she'll get it this timeck all right we'll keep heading along guys try and find one last COC all to feed say bye Oprah bye OA is that pretty cool dude that jaw pop you guys heard just before that is just displacement of air when we clap our hands up north especially in the Northern Territory in Northern Western Australia now we have 30 saltwater crocodiles in this Lagoon guys we've got eight males and 22 Females lucky boys right reason we do this is cuz you can't house too much testosterone in one area it's a bad outcome this goes across all species including our too many fights break out now we do house one big dominant male crocodile in this Lagoon he's got the name of Z he's around 4.3 m in length he's anywhere between 4 we might not get to see on today guys but I'll keep my eye out and if I do see them I will Point him out to you guys crocodile over there just in the water that's bar girl bar girl her and her mate decided to break into in fa's bar Munday Farm started hitting up on all their Bary weren't too popular so they got arrested and put in this lagon when we first got them they were very chunky CRS all right so here's COC here guys this is shop girl now shop girl she is our greediest crocod o in this Lagoon she will follow these boats from this end of Lagoon to the other end just asking for a bit of food but she doesn't actually need any more she is a very wellfed c o actually probably the best fed cro o in this Lagoon at the moment damn Snappy fighting hard today that back now how I can do that just pull food out of the crocod O's mouth is what she's actually trying to do is swallow that food so these guys crocodiles can't swallow food under the water cuz they have what's known as a pade or valve at the back of their throat which is a modified tongue that seals off their airways so if they try to swallow food under the water they most likely will just flood their lungs and stomach full of water so what they have to do is they have to lift their head up above the water and juggle it towards the back of their throat so they can swallow it now that's when I can use my Great Northern like reflexes to pull it out of their mouth now it doesn't happen all the time but when it does happen feel like a bloody ninja doing it like that all right couple more jumps and movements guys and then we do have to keep heading along crocod big J oh no okay you can have that all right we get a good look at crocodile that was very cool thanks buddyp the food straight away yeah it's cuz I was give these crocodiles a bit of exercise these boats 30 minutes from 8:30 to 5:00 every single day and the crocodiles very welled jumping them around just gives them that exercise so they don't become lazy or unhealthy we also don't want a bunch of Limp crocodil seeing around here guys you guys can go to Australia Zoo to see that cheap shot I know you have a look just behind these Tre can see a massive of leaf litter and dirt that's her nest we're in nesting season at the moment uh but during the wet season whenever the crocodile ready up with legs she'll then create an egg chamber in the middle that chamber she'll cover it back up just here protecting right where she goes in that's her little SL 100 crocodile might make a bit of scrambled eggs instead in the photo anyway you're pretty safe just as long as you keep you see how he's got tape around his mouth but if you look you can see he's still got sharp tears hanging out the side there so if he went to do a head shake when you were too close to the head he could still scratch up and we don't want that so you're pretty safe he's not going to ever be able to hurt you this is T-Rex he's a baby saltwater crocodile from the farm at this size he would be roughly 14 months so he's still just a wee baby so you're going to hold him like this like a trophy fish I'll show you what to do okay so one hand there like that where my hand is underneath there perfect you can put another hand underneath the tummy just gently if you like to support him a little bit and you mate you're going to put your hand just underneath where my hand is there like that nice and firm hold but obviously not too tight you don't want to choke him to death you want to have a nice F like you hold crushy not to let him go okay keep him away from your face and hold him out like that that's it higher that's good yeah you can put one TI looking at the camera look at me bring the head down a little bit so I and see your face down yeah there you go there you go big cheese one two three thank you very much good job guys high five well done awesome nice work T-Rex eh did so well PR good job dude yeah of course shut his eyes sometimes think it's cuz he's enjoying the pets but he's not he's actually just protecting his eyes cuz he knows they're very very vulnerable thank you very much appreciate it him underneath the bread hey bud look at his big feet look at how big his feet are man don't put your fingers through bro that's what I got bitten by last time cuz Daddy was being cocky in front of Mommy trying to caught her the cotton top Tamarind aren't they cute though yeah don't muck around wow imagine having one of them at own cult he did a back flip oh look at the baby one there there they're prob little than I thought get one I wish bab they are very cool they're over here playing yeah they're having a ball they must be the young one there wait where are the big ones look at them they're pretty cool jumping around them two are playing monkey he's eating them that one oh that's actually my highlight they have some cool lizards and snakes in here that's an iguana got a tree snake there just wait one second we got a jungle python up there then we go over here we have a cobra cobra that's an eastern brown snake we have both the to pans and Inland and a coastal Tian that guy is sick in here we have a water snake he might be hiding is he but that's very cool he's hiding all right what do you want to show me oh he's in the water oh look at him he's just there in the water I found good job yeah we had these guys I had on of them W do you want to show me bud oh yeah that's that spotty lizard he's cool and then over here we got the king the king of all King brown [Music] snake it just keeps going it's and everything tells you about stuff so death these have the fastest fastest strike in the world and look at how hidden he is there he is so there only short little snake but they have the fastest strike out of any snake wow they're cool and then we get to go see the big dog the kodo on the other side look look at the tortoise over there Co look at him walking two of them here yeah I know there's one right here they're death adds these are really dangerous because you can't see them in the leaves and you stand on them they have the fastest strike so they bite really fast out of any snake it's like a gun shot they they go that fast where's the other one back here look how big that here oh look that'll be a reticulated P where is it reticulated pipon Cy he could eat you bro look at his head there he could literally eat you my brother and in one yeah they just swallow you ho they can open their mouth enough isn't he cool though I kill him if he can swallow swallow like it's very cool I forgot about these guys we've been here before but I forgot about these guys they're sick I don't think they were here are you I don't know if you can see him he's under that tree right there he's right there he's massive you can see his tail coming out over here and that's his big body massive big body up in through there is that the biggest what they have here no the're crocodiles are good dad wouldn't want to come past him in three buns too closely will a snake beat the crocodile no buddy a crocodile wouldn't even feel a snake there he is on the log there look at how Blended up they are NE we used to have a look there's one up in the tree over there oh there's two oh there's three there's heaps in the tree look oh yeah see how good they blend in we have a pet one out Dad don't put your hand over there you'll be right teeth sticking out at the side that's pretty cool Boris has seen it all be around has one of the original Lagoon Crocs and he's here now to show visitors what male Crocs have to go through in order to stay is that a look at the scar on his head from fighting his right foot was lost in the same way bitten off by a rival lots of male Crocs living in D populations they always fight Rah r r he's about 4 M long 300 kilos 40 years old what is he a [ __ ] he's a crocodile he's been fighting other crocodiles that's why they've got him here to show you all the scars he's missing one of his legs and everything that poor guy old borus heart Lees was awesome but Harley's was Bloody hot the airon in the car is lovly so it's currently 11:00 we were there for 2 and 1/2 hours when we seen every animal in the park no oh we didn't see kangaroos sorry kids we didn't see kangaroos cuz there's no kangaroos in Australia that you can see so we didn't see the kangaroos but we've seen everything else the kids were getting windy so we got out of there and little Bob can't stay in that heat for too long so we're on our way back we might pull up at the beach somewhere or we might go back to the hotel for a swim and cool down but the adventure continued this bloody 300 series is a dream to drive it's got all that lane fix you up or if you go out of your lanes and whatnot don't get me wrong I turn it off but it's good for people that want it um it's awesome on fuel so we filled it up at Yu back at Townsville we've come all the way up here driven around a little bit and we've just done a quarter of a tank so the old 300 series V6 I think it's a twin turbo tell me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it's a twin turbo it is very fuel efficient having had a drama got the fridge in the back keeping our drinks cold and the kids are happy there they got their airon blowing on them so at this point I'd have to say this is one of the ultimate little family getaway vehicles but we'll see how it keeps going and we'll see us back at the hotel let's have a look don't go Z is to what a mommy she's just being cruising around Le now she's got to picky back the little a lady God I love that woman
