Hello everyone. We have gathered here today to continue talking about our famous Chinese philosopher Confucius. My friend Gaël has summarized the past and the present of the character. On my side, I will talk with you about our actions within the Citizens' Initiative Association. We reveal to the public, and also to the elected representatives of the nation, the very opaque aspects of the Confucius Institutes. The sinologist Han Chang recently denounced in a show on France Culture the historical detour of classical Chinese thought to political ends. We couldn't say it better. Our wise Confucius used brand images to promote the Chinese regime, as well as horse-drawn horses to infiltrate Western countries. The contracts of teachers recruited and remunerated by PECA have left us with a few surprises. The most worrying is that they are obliged to carry out any task for the Chinese government other than teaching. These parallel activities are often activities of espionage and interference. We have previously spoken about the scandal of the espionage case in Belgium by the director of the Confucius Institute in Brussels. In order to prevent this scandal, we organized demonstrations in Pau during the inauguration of the Confucius Institute, a partner of the University of the Region, in October 2019, with our Tibetan friends, victims of the PCC dictatorship. As well as in Rouen, in front of the Neoma Business School, which houses the largest Confucius Institute in France, and which has developed very close relations with important Chinese universities. There were also Mongolian and Uyghur associations, whose executions, of which they are victims, are known to all. Question, is it possible to evoke the violations of human rights in China with these schools? Show them the quasi-criminal complicity with which we are directly culpable in developing such relations? Economic reason does not justify all crimes. By speaking with several students from these large schools, we were able to see with great satisfaction their consciousness and their awareness of these human problems. They understood that the dramatic restriction of freedoms in other countries threatens their way of life in a democratic country. This is what we are looking for above all, to share the information and warn the public of the threat that weighs on our freedoms by the intrusion of the totalitarian regime in our democracies.
