Lyric Pieces (Norwegian: Lyriske stykker) is a collection of 66 short pieces for solo piano written by Edvard Grieg. They were published in 10 volumes, from 1867 (op. 12) to 1901 (op. 71).

Although Spring Dance is the traditional translation of the Norwegian Springdans, the word refers to its English sense of 'leap' or 'jump' rather than the season of 'spring'. The booklet notes to Grieg: Complete Works for Piano Solo; Gerhard Oppitz, piano, use the less ambiguous translation "Leaping Dance".

Edvard Hagerup Grieg (15 June 1843 - 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely regarded as one of the leading composers of the Romantic period, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. His use of Norwegian folk music in his own compositions brought fame to Norwegian music and helped to develop a national identity, much as Jean Sibelius did in Finland and Bedřich Smetana did in Bohemia.

The video of the seagull was shot by Simone Schlegel in Briez on a stormy and very windy day. It was difficult to get a seagull to stay in the picture as the wind and waves quickly drove it away. So it was decided to capture the seagull in slow motion, so that it would drift out of the frame as slowly as possible. Hope you enjoy! The video was edited by Wenjing Ma.
