Edvard Hagerup Grieg (15 June 1843 – 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. Widely considered one of the leading composers of the Romantic era, his music forms part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. By incorporating Norwegian folk music into his own compositions, he popularised Norwegian music and helped to develop a national identity.

Lyric Pieces is a collection of 66 short piano pieces written by Grieg. They were published in ten volumes between 1867 and 1901.
