Trooper chases down driver wanted by U.S. Marshals Service - EL DORADO, ARKANSAS
Trooper's Report:
On April 6, 2024, at approximately 7:35 PM, I attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2008 Red Chevrolet Trail-Blazer, for no
seatbelt on 400 W. Hillsboro Street at the E-Z Mart. As I approached the vehicle, the driver (Darius Dixon) sped away and
began fleeing.
Dixon fled westbound on Hillsboro Street and made a right onto to Flenniken Avenue. Dixon continued northbound on
Flenniken Avenue, passing vehicles on the left and disregarding multiple stop signs. Dixon then made a left turn onto Mt. Holly
Road and continued traveling westbound before making a left turn onto Murphy Street. Dixon then traveled southbound a short
distance on Murphy Street before coming to a stop near Faulkner Street.
Dixon then proceeded to exit his vehicle and flee on foot. Dixon ran south on Murphy Street and turned west onto Faulkner
Street. Dixon ran through multiple yards before darting behind a residence at 1016 Faulkner Street near Yocum Street. Dixon
then continued running a short distance before I was able to tase him behind 415 Yocum Street. After Dixon was tased, he
was given commands to get on his stomach and put his hands behind his back, but he failed to comply. I then issued another
warning to Dixon that he would be tased again if he did not listen to my commands. However, Dixon proceeded to try and
stand back up and was subsequently tased again.
Afterward, Dixon laid back down on his stomach and put his hands behind his back. Sergeant Dakotah Bailey arrived on scene
and assisted in taking Dixon into custody. After Dixon was taken into custody, Sergeant Bailey advised Troop F
Communications to have an ambulance respond to the scene to evaluate Dixon.
After EMT's examined and cleared Dixon, he was transported to the Union County Detention Center and charged with the
following offenses:
Fleeing by Vehicle, Fleeing on foot, Refusal to Submit Arrest, Reckless Driving 1st, Driving on Suspended
Driver's License, Improper Passing, Fail to Obey Stop Signs, and No Seatbelt. The U.S. Marshals Service and the El Dorado
Police Department placed a hold on Dixon for their warrants.
