Arkansas State Police ends pursuit on Kia Sorento w/ Tactical Vehicle Intervention (T.V.I.) #pursuit

Trooper's Narrative:

On May 28, 2024, I responded to a pursuit in progress by Woodruff County Sheriff Department that was traveling north on State
Highway 145 through downtown McCrory that was headed in my direction. I came into contact with the suspect vehicle as I
attempted to block its path just before the intersection of State Highway 145 and United States Highway 64. The suspect
vehicle swerved to the right off the roadway and went around my unit as it was being pursued by Woodruff County unit #604
and a McCrory Unit. The McCrory unit was occupied with a prisoner and did not engage in the pursuit.

The suspect vehicle turned east on U.S. 64, and I positioned my ASP marked unit alongside the suspect vehicle which had its
window down and yelled for them to pull over. The suspect made eye contact with me and turned her head straight and
continued to pick up speed.

It was my belief, the suspect was not going to stop and would increase their speed more, causing a risk to themselves and
others. I immediately performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (T.V.I.) on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle spun to the
north shoulder and was then boxed in by me and WCSO #604.

Although first refusing commands, the suspect Barbara Armfield was taken into custody.

Suspect Barbara Armfield was charged with the following in Woodruff County Circuit Court:

5-54-103(d)(2) Fleeing – Vehicle or Conveyance (FELONY)
27-16-602 No Driver License
27-51-201 Speeding
5-54-103(b) Refusal to Submit to Arrest
27-22-104 No Liability Insurance
27-14-701 Fail to Register vehicle.
