The Gwanghwa VI is 39 meters long and 7.6 meters wide, with a standard displacement of 150 tons and a full displacement of 180 tons. The combat command and control system can be directly linked to naval and air force combat systems, enabling effective joint naval and air operations. Compared with the replaced Seagull class missile speedboat, the main power of "Guanghua vi" is still three 16-cylinder 4000 series diesel engines and three axis twin rudder power mode, but the use of more digital operating system, not only more simple operation, navigation more sensitive than the old type boat.
According to Taiwan media, the guanghua VI missile boat is highly stealth-oriented and has a streamlined design, radar-resistant steel materials, stealth paint and a new noise-reducing propeller. “光華六號”導彈艇長39米、寬7.6米，標準排水量爲150噸，滿載排水量180噸；最大航速30節，巡航時速18節；22節時可續航1150海里，配備4枚“雄風Ⅱ”反艦導彈、先進的偵察搜索系統和雷達等，作戰指揮控制系統可與海、空軍作戰系統直接聯接，可有效遂行海空聯合作戰。與被取代的海鷗級導彈快艇相比，“光華六號”主要動力仍爲三具16缸4000系列柴油發動機與三軸雙舵的動力搭配模式，但使用更多的數字化操作系統，不但操作更爲簡潔，航行時比舊型艇更爲靈敏。
據臺灣媒體透露，“光華六號”導彈艇隱形性強，採用流線型設計，使用抗雷達波的鋼質材料、隱形塗料和降低噪聲的新型螺旋槳。其次機動性強，艇體積小、速度快，戰時可疏散部署，具有靈活、隱蔽的特點，適合近海突擊作戰，特別是在海上襲擾作戰中具有明顯優勢，不但可躲藏對手的縝密偵察，還可在不開啓雷達的情況下接受準確的作戰信息，直接發射反艦導彈，可達成神出鬼沒的作戰效果。
再次該艇打擊能力強，艇上火力配置先進，包括2座雙聯裝“雄風II”導彈發射架，2座T75式20毫米機炮和2座AV一2型雙管幹擾火箭發射器。電子設備和作戰系統代表了臺灣海軍當前的最好水平，包括HR一76C5型對海搜索雷達1部、DECCA型導航雷達1部、艦用“大成”系統、“海鏢”分系統和NGPS船位回報系統等。
