The B-52 Stratofortress (English: B-52 Stratofortress) is an eight-engine long-range strategic bomber developed by Boeing aircraft Company to replace the B-36 Peacemaker for strategic bombing missions.The design was proposed in 1948, the first prototype flew in 1952, and the mass production model began to be delivered in 1955. Eight types of b-52A, B, C, D, E, F, G, AND H were developed successively, and the production was stopped in 1962, with a total of 744 aircraft produced.The b-52's use peaked in the 1990s, with more than 600 b-52 variants in service with the U.S. Strategic Air Force, and most of the early models have since been retired.
The Air Force is now budgeted to keep the B-52 in service until 2050, when it will have up to 90 years of service.The U.S. military chose to keep the B-52 in service because it is the least expensive aircraft to maintain and operate among U.S. strategic bombers capable of launching cruise missiles.
B-52「同溫層堡壘」（英語：B-52 Stratofortress）是美國波音飛機公司研製的八發動機遠程戰略轟炸機，用於替換B-36和平締造者轟炸機執行戰略轟炸任務。1948年提出設計方案，1952年第一架原型機首飛，1955年批量生產型開始交付使用，先後發展了B-52A、B、C、D、E、F、G、H等8種型別，1962年停止生產，總共生產了744架飛機。90年代是B-52轟炸機使用的鼎盛時期，有600多架B-52各型飛機在美國戰略空軍服役，以後大多數早期型號先後退役。
美國空軍現在預算讓B-52一直服役至2050年，屆時其服役時間將高達90年。考慮到B-52是具有發射巡航導彈能力的美國戰略轟炸機中維護和使用費用最低的機種，美軍選擇讓B-52繼續服役。
