Oh, Mother of Christmas!
Ok, it's for those who stayed till the end.
Hey, good morning! How to take care of your home plants in April?
And what kind of care should you do?
And this is also a video with plant updates,
which is walking around the house and showing you what has changed in me.
I haven't recorded a vlog for a long time, I've lost my rhythm a bit,
so I hope you'll forgive me for some minor or major mistakes.
So let's get started.
I still have a lot to do from the previous month,
because the weather has been quite pleasant lately,
so I've been plowing with rakes and a spade in the garden.
But what's up?
Plant review.
I think it's worth starting our plant review.
We look closely at the leaves, the bottom of the leaves, the leaf tail
and cut out all the dry yellow leaves, dry fragments of plants.
We get rid of it from the plant, but we also clean the soil.
If there is any dry leaf on the substrate, we collect it.
I have to take a bucket or something big,
and I think I'll start cutting today, because I haven't done it before.
Every plant has a yellow leaf.
Every one.
I'll pick it up everywhere.
Here's a stalk, it's yellow.
Oh, Jesus, Mary, what's on this leaf?
Oh, ----.
It is worth washing the plants and we can approach this in three ways.
First, if you notice that your plants have a drier substrate than usual,
than it was in recent weeks,
then we wrap the pot in a foil bag, in an advertisement
and put it under the shower and wash it with a gentle stream of summer water
from the upper parts to the bottom.
Such washing will make our work much easier
when it comes to plants with delicate and small leaves.
Secondly, soft, filtered water or after boiling,
with lemon.
We give about 5-6 drops per 0.5 liters.
We can also squeeze a quarter of a lemon.
There's no point in more.
And we wash it with a delicate dish cloth or a wool cloth.
Avoid materials that are coarse and rough,
so as not to damage the leaves.
Third, Indian honey oil.
I give about 2-3 pumps per 0.5 liters
and a tiny drop of gentle washing liquid.
Without any stronger detergents.
And also a delicate cloth.
When we wash, clean the plant,
it is best to start with the upper parts of the plant,
going leaf by leaf down.
We do not clean the bottom of the leaf,
so as not to damage the twigs.
And it is also important that when we clean one plant,
we rinse the cloth well and only then approach the next plant.
It is worth washing the window so that more light gets into the apartment.
I think I'll start cleaning here from this corner of the window.
What else I will do, I will tell you later.
Now is a good time to overdo the plants and fertilize them.
But when we overdo the plants,
it is better not to fertilize them for the next 4 weeks,
because we can burn, damage the roots.
So what to do in this case?
Before overdoing, one watering before,
it is worth watering the plants, strengthening.
And in this case, it is worth using half the fertilization dose,
which is given in the package.
If you have any plants that you do not plan to overdo,
it is worth loosening the ground, the substrate from the top before watering.
About 2 cm.
It also depends on how the plant roots.
We do it gently so as not to damage the roots.
And we water the plants with fertilizer.
And then it is also worth sprinkling a thin layer of fresh new substrate after the fertilizer.
Before overdoing the pots that we will use,
it is worth washing, especially those that have already been used before,
with warm water with the addition of dishwashing liquid.
We also wash the bases and covers.
And it is worth taking a look at the new ones,
if it happened that the water stood in them for a long time,
to check if something is not flowing inside.
Ficus, which lost leaves during the winter,
90% have a problem with the roots.
They were just spilled.
This is a friend's ficus.
So we overdo such ficuses.
I will have to overdo this,
because there is too much substrate in too large a pot.
And as you can see, it is dehydrated,
although it has improved a bit anyway.
But for now, I will refrain from overdoing it,
because I will root it with a cut growth stalk
and just add it to this mother plant.
After cutting and cutting the stalk,
it has already begun to show small branches and twigs.
You know, we don't really overdo all plants.
For example, we overdo such amaryllis every 2-3 years.
And when we do this,
we actually clean the substrate from the top,
we try not to damage the roots
and we don't overdo it to a too large pot.
Because for plants that have onions, bulbs, clods,
it is best to grow them in smaller pots,
so that they are tight, so that they do not lose energy
for the production of roots and for the production of leaves.
And in the case of amaryllis,
we must remember about regular watering.
Just like all plants that are bulbous, onion and clod.
When we overdo the plants,
I remind you that we water them sparingly,
because now they have more substrate than before,
so gently with water.
If you haven't overdone it yet,
like me, I was supposed to do it on the weekend,
we'll see if I can catch up this week,
I recommend a video that will be linked in the description.
It's about overdoing it
and I'm talking about the most important tips
how to prepare for overdoing it.
And I didn't touch on one topic,
you started asking me about the substrate
that has additives
or adding long-acting fertilizers,
which slowly dissolve.
You can, yes, it slowly dissolves,
there is no risk
that we will burn the roots,
because these are fertilizers perfectly suited
for overdoing plants.
But I'm not a fan of using such fertilizers,
I avoid substrates
that already have fertilizers added,
possibly humus acids
that speed up the rooting of plants.
I avoid such long-acting fertilizers,
because I prefer to fertilize smoothly,
I mix them perfectly with water
and water most of the plants as they fly.
Do I recommend such fertilizers?
If you don't fertilize plants at all,
or very rarely use small doses,
I think it's worth a try,
at least in one season
and you'll see how it works for you.
And when it comes to fertilization,
I know that a lot of people are afraid
that they will burn the plants.
If we buy fertilizers
dedicated to home plants
and you are afraid of fertilization,
we just use half
or even a quarter of the dose
that is given in the package.
And such fertilizers are really better
to use more often
and with such smaller doses.
If we fertilize plants regularly
and we see that the substrate
is already drying up so quickly,
it is worth at least once a month
when we water the plant,
water it in such a way
that the water flows through the pot very quickly
to rinse off the excess fertilizer.
And of course, we quickly pour the water
from the substrate.
The ideal time has begun,
the best time of the year for cutting
and multiplying plants
to have a new plant in the pot
or just plant it in the mother plant
and have a denser plant.
And a quick reminder.
When we cut the top part of the plant,
let's try to have 3-4 leaves,
but before we cut it,
let's make sure
that the trunk we want to cut
is properly stiff,
that it is not too young,
too delicate,
because it will just rot.
Such cuttings will now really
root very quickly in water.
This cutting has short interloops,
i.e. distances between the leaves,
so when I cut it,
I will cut in between, in the middle.
If there are long interloops,
then when we cut,
it is worth cutting a centimeter above
and a centimeter under the knot.
The ground behind the nails ...
Maybe you have
that some of your domestic
buds lost their leaves during the winter
and now we have such bald buds.
And what to do with it?
Wait for them to bloom
or cut them over the knots
so that they start to branch out.
I think it's best to cut
such a bald bud,
because even if it starts to bloom,
it's not entirely,
not in every node,
but somewhere locally,
so it will be difficult to get
such a nice effect
for the plant to regenerate.
So I think it's worth cutting such a trunk.
Cut it into knotting cuts
or with two knots.
If with two knots,
then we put the lower knot
into a jar of water, it will root quickly
and then with this one knot
we move it to the substrate.
If we cut into single knots,
we can root on moistened perlite,
pumice, vermiculite,
coconut fiber
and moss.
If you root in wet moss,
it is worth sprinkling a little ceramic
or ceramic pieces on the bottom.
Pour a little water
to suck the steam up,
moisten the moss,
drain it and put it on the moss,
cover it with a thin layer,
cover it with something,
open it every day, ventilate it
and wait for our roots to grow.
Some people know what it is.
When we root in water,
well, here I'm already drooling,
it's worth replacing the water
every 3-4 days, every 2 days.
There are various recommendations,
but at least once a week
to replace the water.
Look, we'll do an update right away.
Roots have already begun to appear
on this ficus.
I don't know if it was visible,
if it caught the focus.
Ficus seedling.
And such roots are already suitable
for transplanting,
so I have to do it quickly.
We can plant 5-6 seedlings
in one pot, which is about
9-10 cm in diameter.
If they root well,
then you can split them later
or leave them in one pot.
African fiocco also roots in water.
Now is also a good time
to cut the plants,
to thicken them.
I don't know if you remember,
last year I cut this stick
more or less to this height
and it built up nicely here.
This year I will only gently cut it
here at the bottom,
so that it builds up in this place
and I also have to overdo it,
so I will actually cut
after transplanting,
because I don't like
this substrate anymore.
When you winter at home,
in the Pelargonia apartment,
in mid-April,
we can start cutting
and transplanting them
into separate pots,
ready to be put outside
and we put them on the balcony
to the garden during the day.
Unfortunately, I dried them several times,
now I'm trying to be careful
not to dry them.
That's why there are a lot of leaves to clean.
This year I already opened
the balcony door windows,
but I moved the plants
that were standing in the trailer
so that it wouldn't blow on them.
Although this wind would be so nice,
warm, pleasant,
it is still a bit too early
to let it blow on the plants.
In addition, pathogens,
carriers of various diseases
and they also start to eat wheat.
And all these bad guys
very often
get to our apartments
through the windows, through the door, through the balconies.
So let's be careful.
To sum up, we look at the plants,
check if there are no pathogens on them,
infected leaves, dry, broken,
cut,
clean the soil in the pots,
overdo the plants,
fertilize before transplanting.
Those that we don't overdo
we loosen the soil from the top,
pour fertilizer,
sprinkle some fresh soil,
wash the plants, clean them,
and we start intensive
planting of plants.
Once we hold the separator in our hand,
we can also cut the plants
so that they start to thicken,
especially plants that are wooden.
I already told you about this topic.
And when we cut, we also root the plants.
In general, I have to go to the neighborhood
to replace the glass and it will probably be like this.
And let's be careful about overdoing.
At this point, I really have a lot
to deal with.
There are a lot of things
that I will want to show you,
but later, because they are still
at the transition stage.
I want to show you the final effect,
but you still have to wait a little bit.
And now, where do I start?
From the order.
I'll take the plant out of this window,
clean it, wash the windows,
and here I will also clean up.
And I also thought that in spring,
when I start cleaning up here,
overdoing the plants.
I was supposed to do it last weekend,
and of course it didn't work out.
So I'll probably start tomorrow from this place.
And I want to do some spring refreshment here.
I have two 5-liter jars prepared.
It's still not enough.
Every day I fill one of these jars
with filtered water
and one of these jars
goes down to watering every day.
So these two jars,
one of them will be enriched
with fertilizer for storks,
because I have to soak them,
and here I will give regular fertilizer,
but a full dose, as it is on the package.
On straight hands!
On straight hands, yes!
Yes!
I would like to show you
this Aschenanthus.
It bloomed, not much, but it bloomed at all,
so it's great, it didn't drop flowers.
And here at the top it also created flowers
and it will bloom.
I don't know if you remember his story.
I told quite a lot about him.
I got him as a gift
such a damaged seedling, so I cut it.
I rooted it, it took half a year
before he let go of the roots.
And that year, with spring, I took a risk
and put two small granules of manure
in it, and it gave him a kick.
Be careful with manure,
it is a very strong fertilizer,
so you can damage the plant.
I burned a few plants,
so be very careful if we know
that some plant has a lot of fertilizer requirements.
No, I won't tell you
to take a risk and try.
I took a risk, I decided
that once a goat is dead,
if it doesn't wake him up,
I won't give him a kick,
I'll kick him out,
because I didn't have patience for him anymore.
And he started to let go of the twigs,
but also such thin, small leaves,
so I gave him a kick again.
And I think that
since the last time
I watered him, I think he moved a little.
And I also have to water him,
because he's already dry.
A new hoe. Of course, I had to
take pity on the thicker plant,
and it was really the only variety,
the only piece of this variety,
so I took it, but it has already started to let go,
I think it will be good for her.
And I didn't do any more plant shopping,
because I have to first figure out what it is.
First, I'll clean up,
and then I'll start buying the plants
I dream of.
In total, there were 6 new plants,
and they are still coming.
They should appear this week,
they were supposed to be last week.
I was also a little scared by what was happening
outside the window, but luckily
they were sent this morning.
So I think I'll make one episode
about plant shopping.
I'll put it all in one video.
I won't break up,
I won't overdo it,
because as far as I can see,
it has a pretty good substrate.
It dries well, there is a lot of perlite,
some coconut fibers.
It is so loose, so I leave it
in such a substrate for now.
This is my last purchase at the Old Age Fair.
I mean, it's new, but thanks to that
I can watch more closely
what's going on here.
Oh, how disgusting they are.
You know that at the phytopathology classes
when I was sitting on the second bench,
Cleo was sitting in front of me,
and the host always said,
the lady in the glasses will look
into the microscope and say what she sees.
And under the microscope
some diseases are so disgusting.
Well, really, my dear,
at this stage I don't have much to show you
from the plant updates.
I got rid of the perlite,
it doesn't come back very quickly,
it's calm. It was enough to wash the plants well,
with a gentle stream of lukewarm water,
and I also sprayed well
with a sugar-based spray,
and it's calm.
My brother's perlite
is ready to be thrown away.
How he was happy, how he was laughing
when I showed him what was going on.
I will mention it again because new viewers
appear. My brother was leaving for a while
and he gave me his plant for care
and it was just like that.
I mean, it was a little better,
but I also showed it in the previous video
from this series.
What else can I show you here?
I know, the queen's one-night seedling.
Oh, from this one.
These thin stalks that she let go
began to flatten and branch.
Well, very dry, I have to water it quickly.
And as I said,
every morning I pour a bottle of water
over the plants and I've been doing this
for about 2-3 weeks.
I think it's been going on for 3 weeks.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of time
and such a weaker form,
I dried a lot of plants.
I admitted that now I am still collecting
this seedling and I have a lot of leaves to cut.
Problems began to appear
and it also reminded me
because I told you in the middle of the holiday
and later when autumn began
that I have to water the plants
or water them with a chemical agent.
Yes, sometimes I use chemical agents
to help the plant and I didn't do it.
I didn't water it because when I had time
it was bad weather and I couldn't
put the plants on the balcony.
Then the renovation began,
which is all raked up and nothing
is happening yet, I don't even know
when they will come to work.
I can't do anything on the balcony,
so I didn't water the plants.
And a year ago, I don't remember
if I told you about it at all
or if I told you what I was doing.
If there were any weaker plant conditions
during the winter,
I watered them with chemical agents
and this put them on their feet.
After last winter, there were no such problems
as there are now.
I'm working, I'm working.
I'll dry this one.
I don't know if you know,
I told you on Instagram.
I dry yellowed leaves,
which were to be cut.
I don't know why.
Maybe someday I'll use them for something.
Maybe they will serve me as a template, a pattern.
Or maybe I'll attach it somewhere on the wall.
We'll see.
A little bit of home-related topics
that have been neglected lately.
But we'll catch up on that in a moment.
Because I've been in the garden recently
because the weather was perfect.
And now there's this moment in the garden
that if I don't do what I have planned,
I won't do it until the end of the year.
So I'll close the topic.
Acids are terrible.
I'm building a glasshouse
and I'm taking some plants to the glasshouse.
So we'll catch up on the topic
with home plants soon.
Tomorrow I'm going to record
a fat topic.
Very fat.
If I overdo plants,
I'll plant some species
in one pot.
For example, I'll plant all aglaonema
in one pot.
I don't know if you know it.
It's been standing in the water for a year.
Yes, I have so much free time.
So loose.
What else?
Two coconut shavings have appeared.
Nontcha will be Monster
and Raphidophora.
You know what?
When I'm done here,
I'll put the camera somewhere on the side
and I'll record it all,
and then I'll edit it for you.
And that's it for this moment.
Thank you for your attention.
Stay warm and may you be green.
See you next time.
Oh, Mother of Christmas!
Okay, it's for those who stayed until the end.
Attention.
Leaves, you see?
Shame on you!
