Harms on our home plants most often appear when we bring them to the house as passengers on the GAP with new plants.
They can also enter our apartment when we put them on clothes, shoes.
Harms also often get to our homes, apartments through open windows, doors,
but there are also cases that they come with a new floor in which we move our plants.
How to deal with these hells?
The method to get rid of the harms is a multitude,
but in this episode I will share with you what works for me
and I will also tell you what natural and chemical preparations I use.
But due to the fact that I have a black devil,
if I had a problem with the harms, because for now it is not there,
I hope it will not appear too soon,
I will use natural methods or preparations that will not harm this little devil.
Different harms on different plants appear in different ways,
but above all, when we water the plants, we watch them.
We look at the leaves, leaf tails, the bottom of the leaf.
We try to watch the whole plant in search of the harm.
But as soon as we notice that the leaves of our plants are starting to yellow,
the first thing we do is look for the harm.
We look closely.
If you have a problem with your eyesight, like me, it is best to watch such plants in the light.
Then it is easier, for example, to notice a delicate spider's web.
On our home plants, various pests can eat.
Worms, which I consider the worst,
because they multiply very quickly, attack quickly, destroy our plants
and also quickly move to the rest of our green cluster.
So here we have to act quickly.
But what to do, I'll tell you in a moment.
Worms, i.e. such small, delicate spiders in different colors.
White, red, brown.
And most often they eat on the bottom of the leaf plate.
Only then do we realize that we have a problem with the worm,
just as we see that the leaves are really badly damaged.
But when there is a big attack, they also often appear in this place.
That's why we look closely.
The next pests are worms, i.e. bowlers, graters and woolworms.
And there are many different woolworms, bowlers, graters.
And the worst of those I mentioned are the woolworms,
because they like to nest in the cracks of the leaf plates.
In such nooks and crannies that are hard to reach,
to wash them, for example, with a cotton swab.
To get rid of in a mechanical way.
So very often, despite washing plants or using natural sprays,
these gramps continue to multiply and attack our plants.
The next pests that rarely appear on our home plants,
but they do appear, are glassworms,
which often eat on the bottom of the leaves.
And these are such flies, a bit like moths,
maybe more like mollies.
On plants that stand on windowsills or when going to the balcony,
to the garden, to the terrace, mosquitos can appear.
When we put plants outside during spring, summer,
and then we bring these plants into the apartment,
we can bring them pests such as fleas.
During the day they hide in the ground,
and at night they climb out and eat the leaves.
We can also bring various caterpillars inside,
which also cut leaves.
In the ground we can find jumpers,
which generally feed on dead organic matter,
spread it, but when they run out of food,
they can bite into the roots.
When there is a small amount of them,
they do not really harm the plants,
but when there is a massive amount of them,
unfortunately, the plants can be exposed to biting
and biting into the roots.
Small pests are earthworms,
i.e. such small black flies similar to fruit flies,
which fly around our plants,
around the ground, because they eat there.
A natural method to get rid of, for example, fleas,
is to put plants in a cooler room.
Of course, if the plant can stay at this temperature,
and leave it for about 4-5 weeks.
In such a temperature, the flea is not able to function
and dies.
As soon as it notices that a pest has appeared on my plant,
it will check for each pest,
no matter if it is a flea, a flea or a flea,
I wrap the pot in a plastic bag,
and then I put the plant under the shower
and wash it, wash it thoroughly
with a gentle stream of summer water.
I rinse the whole plant, the leaf tails,
and in places where I see that there is the greatest concentration,
for example, a flea,
I very gently rub this place to rinse this plant.
The next step is to prepare one of two mixtures.
The first mixture is soft water,
filtered with a few drops of lemon.
It can be even half a lemon for half a liter of water.
The second mixture is half a liter of soft water
with 2-3 drops of Indian honey oil
and a tiny drop of gentle washing liquid.
The plant is still covered in a plastic bag
and with such a mixture, a gentle cloth or a cotton swab,
I still clean the plant.
I clean the upper leaf plate, the leaf tails.
When I clean the plant,
I remove the plastic bag from the substrate,
and then I replace the top layer of the soil with a new substrate,
which was previously baked,
or one that I am sure has no pests there.
When the plant is in the sun,
I wash such a cover in warm water
with the addition of dishwashing liquid or soap,
as well as production pots and basins.
I also wash the bottom.
Usually, such a process of thorough washing,
also washing the basins, pots, covers, is completely sufficient.
But I also put such a plant aside,
I isolate it from other plants,
and those that stood about a meter
near this attacked plant,
I take it under the magnifying glass
and also carefully observe if the pest has moved on it.
The attacked plant is under the magnifying glass.
I mean, I watch it every 2-3 days
and check if the pests have not survived.
If this happened,
when it happens,
then I reach for natural sprays.
And we divide such natural sprays into different categories.
The first category is sprays of home work.
And we can use soapy potash soap,
which is known in gardening for decades
and works very well.
And it works on the principle of sealing,
disengaging the pest.
We can also prepare a spray of oil,
Indian honey or nicotine.
Nicotine acts on the nervous system of the pest
and paralyzes it.
There are various ready-made preparations available,
which are ready to use.
All you have to do is turn the knob
and spray the plant.
Or those that need to be diluted with water
and poured into the sprayer.
And such sprays, mainly,
primarily work on the principle of contact.
They are based on sugar or oil.
And it works in such a way
that it seals the pest on the plant,
disengages it and also seals
its respiratory apparatus.
When we use such preparations,
it is very important to spray the plant thoroughly,
and set our sprayer to fogging.
Please pay attention to
to pour a lot of such spray
at the leaf tail,
right next to the stalk in this break.
Because pests like to hide there.
The advantage of such preparations based on sugar or oil
is that even if some pest survives,
or larvae,
will transform into an adult worm,
or new pests will hatch from the eggs,
when we use such a preparation,
we stick them again.
We prevent them from multiplying again.
When we use chemicals
for the stomach,
which I will tell you more about in a moment,
the pests, unfortunately, can evaporate
on the substance present in the spray.
The advantage of such preparations is that
they usually do not have a shortage period.
And the shortage period is the time
in which we cannot touch the plant after spraying
or eat it.
Sometimes I use such a preparation,
I will put all the links in the description,
which has a wider range of action.
It works on pests, on the contact principle,
but also on fungal diseases.
It dries cell walls, fungi and rootstocks.
It is a preparation that is allowed
in ecological farming.
Another group of sprays
are stomach sprays,
i.e. penetrating into the soil of the plant,
wandering in the juice of the plant.
And when the pest bites the plant,
it turns over.
And as I mentioned, some pests,
especially fungi,
evaporate on active substances
contained in such sprays.
If you write to me with some plant problems
and I ask you if any agent was used,
you usually write me the name of the company,
not the active substance that was
contained in the spray.
There are a lot of companies on the market,
but they have the same sprays available.
And we pay attention to what kind of active substance it is.
Such a universal chemical agent
for stomach action,
i.e. penetrating into the soil of the plant.
And such a preparation usually works
for about 7-10 days.
That's why we repeat the spray after that time.
There is Mospilan and Polysect.
It's really the same
active substance,
only that Mospilan has a stronger concentration.
Mospilan is not tested
at this angle, but it is checked.
We can apply it to the soil.
And in this case, when we water the plant,
for example, when something is eating
in the ground, such as a potato or a beetroot,
10% concentration is usually used.
Here I have such a preparation
only intended for wheat,
and it works in various stages.
But as I said, when we use
Mospilan and after 7-10 days
we notice that we still have a problem
with pests, then we reach
for another active substance.
When we reach for any ready-made preparation,
we read the leaflet
and what is written on the packaging.
The prepared mixture that will remain
in the sprayer, you have to do something
with it. We can't leave it
for a few days to use it again,
because the chemical compounds
contained in this mixture begin to oxidize.
That's why we can
spray the remaining plants that stand
next to those that were attacked.
This is the best way to do it,
not to pour the rest of the spray into the sewage,
then we can water the plants
that require watering.
After spraying, we rinse the sprayer well
and wash, rinse, also breathe.
Each pest has its own development cycle
and when we get rid of adult specimens,
but there are larvae or eggs left,
then adult specimens will appear
that will continue to multiply.
That's why we look at the plants
and if necessary, when we see that the pest is still eating,
we repeat the spray.
We usually don't get rid of pests with one spray.
That's why we usually repeat them
after 7-10 days.
As a reminder, when we use sprays,
it is worth spraying the ground
Usually we reach for chemical agents
when we have a bigger problem with pests.
Most of our plants are attacked.
A few years ago I had such a problem,
a very big problem with pests.
Most of the plants were attacked
and what helped me was the division of plants
into different groups,
because I was not able to spray everything
in one approach.
I provided the plant with the right distance
so that the pest would not move
and I set it on paper foil
or wrapped it in plastic bags.
I sprayed the plants,
I sprayed the ground,
I closed the bag, I wrapped the foil
and left it for a few hours.
We can leave it even for the next day.
In such a bag, an unpleasant atmosphere
is created for the pests.
The most important steps in the fight against pests
are primarily an attempt
to mechanically get rid of them,
and then regular, systematic
monitoring of plants and regularity
in the use of sprays
if we decide on such solutions.
When we put plants outside,
there is a high risk
that they will be attacked by pests,
but thanks to the fact that we expose them,
they grow many times faster
than if they were at home.
And how do we ask you to prepare for the exhibition?
I invite you to watch this video.
In the meantime, let yourself be green.
Greetings!
