Hi guys,
thank you for watching. My name is Rizal. I am from Indonesia and I am currently living in Taiwan.
One fact actually is, I just know that Chinatown Bangkok is one of the largest Chinatown in the world when I edit this video. It was a good experience there at that time. Exploring in the day and night might be different. The vibes will be a bit different. I hope you could visit and try it by yourself. Anyway, I can’t imagine, how’s the situation here during Chinese New Year? I guess it must be crowded and has many shows. So sad that I won’t be able to go back here in Chinese New Year.
Oh ya, if you hear me mentioning the name of food or place with Thai language in here, please don’t take it seriously. Haha… I have tried my best. Of course the pronounce might be wrong. Thai friends, please correct me if I am wrong. Haha…
Bangkok trip always never failed. I like the combination of traditional cultures and modern aspects in the city. The food especially. Oh, it seems like, every random food is delicious.
Do you remember Riri caffè shop? Their Thai tea, OMG, I still remember. The taste is so so good. I never tasted Thai tea that delicious. This random caffè shop will be one of my list to revisit next time when I have another chance.
Anyway, I would also be happy to hear your experience or opinions about Bangkok. You may share some thoughts in the comment section.
Thank you for watching this video. I will see you on the next episode.

Welcome to Chinatown of Bangkok.
I don't know what I feel. Most of Thailand dish, there is always sweet taste on it.
It's very crunchy.
This is Icon Siam, a paradise for those who love to shop and eat.
My main purpose of going here this time is to explore the food.
They have a food area with unique concept.
You guys are familiar with night market, right?
Usually it's outdoor, but this one, it's indoor.
Inside the shopping mall.
I feel like the place is mixed with a creative design of the art as well.
Do you know what I just saw?
They have many halal stalls here.
I was shocked that I actually found many halal food stores.
It's a good news for those who is looking for halal food in Bangkok.
You may come to visit here.
And look at this vibes.
Feels like we're at night here, even though outside is still bright in the day.
The concept brings us the real feeling of the night market.
Anyway, they also have a prayer room as well.
What a complete package.
By the way, the restroom here is very clean and good for you if you like mirror selfie.
Oh, look at this crowd.
So many people here.
Suddenly I'm hungry now.
Without further ado, let's try this very famous street food in Thailand.
Khanom Boeung.
Which one you want?
Wow, the color is beautiful.
How's the taste?
It's very crunchy.
The outer layer is very crunchy.
I feel the middle part is coconut.
Wow.
So what is the orange part?
I think the orange part is coconut.
And the white is coconut too.
Not that sweet.
Great.
I think the taste might be different with that one and this one.
It's coconut or not?
Coconut, right?
Not really sweet, right?
Something new.
Now we are going to go to the next destination, Chinatown.
If you take a boat, make sure to stop at Ratchawong Pier.
Anyway, I found this coffee shop not so far from the exit of the pier.
Today I'm going to try their Iced Royal Thai Milk Tea.
The vibes here is quiet and comfortable.
Good to sit and relax for a moment.
It's been there on my bucket list to try Thai tea in Thailand.
Anyway, I would like to spoil a little bit about the taste.
This drink turns out to be very good.
I didn't expect that the combination of the foam and the Thai tea is super delicious.
Not very sweet.
Wow.
So refreshing.
The taste.
So this is killing the thirst in the middle of very hot weather.
Usually, near whipped by Thai milk tea, it's very identical with.
The sugar taste is so strong.
But this one is not.
So flavoring.
And I'm not sure what is it described.
Is it cream?
Yeah, you have to mix.
Milky, sweet, but not too sweet.
Very original Thai milk tea.
The taste is so refreshing.
Welcome to Chinatown of Bangkok.
I feel walking in here, it seems like we are in a Chinese environment.
But actually we're in Bangkok.
So we see so many Chinese characters here.
Mixing together with Thai characters everywhere.
Wow.
I think it will get more busy in a night.
Getting busier and busier.
There are so many people selling food.
And some of them also selling clothes.
So many things.
Chinese herbs.
We can explore and see what we have in Chinatown.
Okay.
The Chinatown in Bangkok was founded in 1782.
And it's actually one of the largest Chinatown in the world.
The best way to start is by heading to Yawarat Road and follow the crowds.
Anyway, if you're planning to come for food,
please avoid coming on Monday because most food stalls are closed.
Today Chinatown Bangkok covers a square bounded by Padung Krung Kasem Canal to the east.
The Ong Ang Canal to the west.
Luang Road to the north.
And Chao Phraya River to the south.
Can you imagine that?
Roughly speaking, it's stretching around to a kilometer square of area.
Where you could explore the traditional Chinese culture in this city.
This drink is originally from China and very famous in China.
Today we're trying to drink this in Thailand Chinatown.
Let's try.
Cheers.
I know this taste.
This is like...
This is pretty common in Taiwan, I think.
But they bake it in a different way.
Actually, there is similar drinks like this in Indonesia.
It's like this.
Okay.
Do you know American Voice, this talent show?
Do you know?
American Voice?
I mean a TV show.
Okay.
In China, there's China Voice.
I mean they are the same brand.
And this one is a sponsor for China Voice.
Okay.
Long time ago, yeah.
I think that's why this is famous.
Yes.
And do you think is there any different from Taiwan's?
Compared with Taiwan?
差不多
Almost the same.
Okay.
Enough to kill the thirstiness.
Yes, good.
Go.
This trip won't be complete without trying the actual local street food.
So I stopped by this stall near the road because I saw they sell a variety of street snacks.
This is 10 baht.
Each one is 10 baht.
So we can choose any thing that we want.
And then pay later.
Okay.
Is that hot?
So many plastic.
This is...
I only have three of this one.
Okay.
They give the sauce and peanuts.
Before they serve this to us, so they...
I mean before they put this into plastic, they cut this first.
It's easier for us to eat.
I don't know what I feel.
Most of Taiwan dish.
Most of Thailand dish.
There is always sweet taste on it.
I don't know.
Is it sugar is a must in every dish?
I think there's a little bit sweet in this.
And I think this is basil leaf.
Oh.
We can't use this for DMR.
Only in BTS.
