As the main ship of the Russian navy, the aircraft carrier Kuznetsov is the first aircraft carrier in the world to have both an oblique and straight flight deck and a ski-jump flight deck.During the planning phase in the 1970s, the Neva Design Bureau (the 17th Soviet Design Bureau) offered five initial plans, including a steam ejection model.But the decision makers settled on the most "economical" option, a 55,000-ton carrier with conventional power and a ski-jump deck.In order to build the aircraft carrier Kuznetsov, the Soviet government allocated a large amount of money to carry out large-scale technical upgrading and transformation in the Black Sea shipyard in Nikolayev, Ukraine, expanding the large-tonnage slipway and large outfitting quay, and recruiting a large number of professional designers and construction personnel.

現如今被當作各國“吃瓜羣衆”們茶餘飯後的笑料的庫茲涅佐夫號航空母艦，曾今也是整個蘇聯的驕傲。那麼今天我們就走近這座巨大的航母，看看它都經歷了什麼。
作爲俄羅斯海軍的主力艦艇，庫茲涅佐夫號航空母艦是世界上第一艘同時擁有斜直兩段飛行甲板和滑躍式飛行甲板的航母。早在1970年代的規劃階段，涅瓦設計局（蘇聯第17設計局）曾提供了五種初始方案，其中還包括了將它打造成蒸汽彈射的模式。不過決策部門最終還是選定了最“經濟實惠”的方案，確定建造一艘排水量5.5萬噸、採用常規動力和滑躍甲板的大型航母。爲了建造庫茲涅佐夫號航空母艦，當時的蘇聯政府專門撥下鉅款，在烏克蘭尼古拉耶夫市的黑海造船廠進行了大規模的技術升級改造，擴建了大噸位船臺和大型舾裝碼頭，招聘了大批專業設計施工人員。
