Hey guys, it's Phuc here! Welcome to my channel, everyone!
Right now, I'm on one of my favorite streets in Vietnam, well, in Saigon.
This is Khi Dong street, everyone.
On this street, there are so many choices for food.
But today, I'm introducing two dishes in Vietnam, everyone.
These two dishes are for people who often forget to eat breakfast.
Sorry, I lost my voice.
But they eat it for breakfast, okay?
Now, to be honest, if you ask a Vietnamese person, they will...
If you ask a Vietnamese person, the Vietnamese person will answer.
It depends on the person.
Some people eat Pho, some people eat Banh Cuon, sticky rice, Banh Mi.
But today, I want to focus on two special dishes for me.
And today, I'm going to introduce a restaurant that's been around for a long time.
Actually, this place is 20 years old, but the owner has been making Pho for over 40 years.
She said 45 years.
So, almost 6 years ago, my friend introduced this place to me.
And let me know that this is the best chicken Pho in Saigon.
I couldn't believe it because when I ate chicken Pho in the US,
to be honest, I didn't like it.
But after trying the dishes here, I realized, oh my god, I can make delicious chicken Pho.
Alright, I've said a lot. Let's go in and eat.
If you come to Bui Chua, Bui Sang, Thai, there are a lot of people.
It's always crowded.
It's always crowded, everyone.
All of the ingredients in this Pho are pretty fresh.
Because a lot of people come in, a lot of people eat.
There has to be fresh ingredients.
Always fresh.
So, everyone, people work here very hard.
There are a lot of waiters, a lot of cooks.
So, everyone is very friendly, very easy to talk to.
Even when I came here a few years ago, my Vietnamese was pretty weak.
But at that time, they tried to talk to me a lot.
Luckily, now I can speak Vietnamese a little more clearly.
It's not just Pho, but there's Bun, Mee Goi, Hu Tieu, Nhu Lua Chon.
Also, chicken salad.
And that's like a good salad for everybody to try as well.
But we didn't come here to eat chicken salad.
We came here to get some Pho.
Can I have a bowl of special chicken Pho?
Big size.
Yes, everybody. Chicken Pho, the first one.
So much history here.
But I never lied to this guy.
Because of this, I always try to remember Phuc's life around here.
Phuc lived in District 3 a few years ago.
And always stay here because it's very close to home.
Thank you so much.
Another great thing about this place is they have a Xintou bar right here.
Even though the beef Pho is very good, but eating chicken Pho is like a feast.
I always say that wrong, but it's refreshing.
It's almost like a cleaner broth.
So, remember Phuc's life.
It's almost like a cleaner broth.
So, remember Phuc's life.
Phuc was young and sick.
Phuc's mom gave Phuc chicken noodle soup out of the can.
But this one is less salty.
Because Phuc ordered a special bowl.
There's this.
This is chicken noodle soup.
A gizzard.
Very crunchy.
It's just like when you order a special bowl of beef Pho.
They'll give you all the different cuts.
And it's good to get that variety.
Because sometimes, some places, you know, certain cuts will taste better.
And ask any Vietnamese in Saigon.
Oh, which restaurant has the best chicken Pho?
They will definitely say here.
This here is a very interesting addition.
This is called Long Chung.
Basically, if you unfortunately murder a chicken.
You kill the little guy.
Why, she still has some eggs in her.
Well, you get what's called Long Chung.
A lot of Vietnamese like to eat them.
I don't normally order them, but I wanted that to be it for all you guys to see.
One quick thing to note.
Another reason Vietnamese are not as fat as Americans.
In general, it's a smaller portion size.
This bowl, very small.
And I noticed while being back in America.
Man, anything you order, huge.
Even the Vietnamese restaurants.
You get Bún Thịt Nướng in Vietnam, that can feed three people.
One portion.
Next dish.
This is one of my favorite dishes.
A few years ago, I don't know why.
But now, I can eat Banh Cuon.
It's always good.
Not just for breakfast, but anytime of the day.
So, I have a few restaurants on Pham Van Hai street.
My street.
In Saigon.
And I want to introduce a new restaurant.
Experience a new restaurant with you guys.
This is Phuong Mai Banh Cuon.
On Rạc Bùn Bên street, District 3.
The second dish is Banh Cuon.
I really don't know what happened.
I used to like it.
It was alright.
But then, one day, a couple years ago.
I just craved it.
I wanted to eat it everyday.
My wife would get on me.
Because 9, 9.30 at night, I'd get out of class.
I'd go buy two boxes.
And just eat them.
Right away.
As soon as I got home.
Can you blame me?
Look at this.
That first bite is everything.
Fish sauce.
Messes perfectly with it.
I love how she has these extra toppings on.
The presentation is just beautiful.
Look at this, guys.
You can literally serve this at a classy restaurant here.
Charge $20-$25 to tourists.
And people would buy it.
Simply on the presentation alone.
I had to take a picture for the gram.
I'm going to use this time to advertise for my Instagram.
If you haven't already, make sure you follow PhucMaVlog.
Because now Phuc is teaching Vietnamese on Instagram.
Vietnamese, we're there.
Not only Vietnamese for foreigners.
But Vietnamese in the world.
And Vietnamese who don't know the slang of the young and rich.
And because I'm young and rich, I keep up with them.
See, we have the bean sprouts.
We have the fried onions.
If you get the special, it includes chả.
Chả here is good.
Generally, I like a little bit more pepper in there.
But it's good.
Remember, if you're ordering this dish, there are other varieties.
You can do bánh cuốn, like I'm having.
The traditional.
Or you can do bánh cuốn chưng.
And they'll take this bột, this flour.
And they'll mix it with an egg in there.
It's more yellow, obviously.
But it's really good as well.
Also, there's bánh ướt.
To me, I like to refer to bánh ướt as the lazy bánh cuốn.
Or bánh cuốn lưỡi biến.
Why?
Because they don't roll it.
It's just kind of like plopped in there.
Ứt means wet.
So just wet noodles or wet rice paper put in there.
It's fine.
It's not that it tastes any worse.
But I prefer those finely rolled bánh cuốn.
Bánh cuốn.
Now the word cuốn itself means to swirl or twist or kind of roll.
They'll even use it as a classifier for bột cuốn sạch.
It's just like...
Anyway.
My friends, I hope you enjoyed this video.
I hope you enjoyed my choices for breakfast options.
Thank you for watching.

Chúc mừng năm mới.
