This beautiful piece was played by I Solisti Veneti (an Italian chamber orchestra founded in Padua in 1959 by Claudio Scimone). Claudio Scimone was the conductor. It is provided through archive.org.

The second sonata in A major opens slowly and the violins bring in a sad and lovely melody that’s answered by the cello. Even in this work, we can imagine this in an opera setting.
