Welcome back to part 2 of our investigation into the new monster telescopes under construction. In the first part, we talked about the ground-based telescopes being built at various places around the world - largest of which will more than triple the size of the biggest telescopes we have right now. With telescopes this size, astronomers will have the capability to peer into the Universe, more more resolution than even our most powerful space-based telescopes.
Of course, there are a group of space-based telescopes in the works too. Telescopes that absolutely dwarf the most sensitive telescopes we have in space already. Ground telescopes are getting bigger. Space telescopes are getting bigger too.
Allow me to get your imagination going with the space-based telescopes that’ll bring us into the next golden age of astronomy. Once again, a huge thanks to Universe Today’s Evan Gough, who created the original series on our website.
