In questo video vi facciamo vedere come preparare la zona di lavoro per lavorare con ArtResin.
Welcome to Art Resin 101!
To start using Art Resin, the first step is to prepare the work space and your artwork.
Prepare the tools you will need, such as some waste bags,
supports to support your artwork, masking tape, a level,
a graduated container, a mixing bowl, a mixing stick,
a spatula, a brush, a pair of gloves,
a Frangibolle Artist Torch brush, Art Resin,
obviously your artwork, and a large enough box to cover it.
Before applying Art Resin, make sure that your artwork is completely dry.
If your artwork is on a large canvas, you can reinforce it on the back with cardboard
to prevent the resin from accumulating in the middle.
If your artwork contains ink, paper, or anything else that can smear or saturate
in contact with the wet resin, we recommend that you preventively seal the artwork.
If you intend to cover the sides of the artwork with resin,
cover the lower side of the artwork with tape to prevent it from dripping.
Spread a waste bag over a flat surface,
place the artwork on some supports, and make sure it is level.
To set the required amount, use our resin cover calculator
available at www.art-resin.com/.calculator
Some users prefer to reheat the Art Resin in a bain-marie before measuring it
to reduce the formation of bubbles.
Just be careful not to allow the water to reach the resin or the Art Resin
as it would disturb the mixture.
Wearing gloves, pour exactly the same volume of Art Resin at room temperature
into a mixing bowl.
Remember to put the right lid on each bottle once you've finished pouring the product.
Black for the resin, white for the hardener.
Mix thoroughly the resin and hardener mixture for at least 3 minutes.
While mixing, scrape the walls and bottom of the container well
to ensure that the entire mixture is catalysed correctly
and therefore hardens properly.
If you see bubbles forming at this point, don't worry.
We'll deal with them in the fifth step.
Once you've mixed the resin and hardener together,
you'll have about 45 minutes to level the mixture before it starts to harden.
If the mixture is warmer than the environment,
the working time and hardening time will be reduced.
Pour and level the Art Resin at will.
If you intend to cover the entire workpiece, start pouring from the centre.
Use a spatula to guide the resin exactly where you want it
or you can use a spray brush to cover only a few areas of your workpiece.
You can use a spray brush or a glove to resin the sides
or leave it to form a smooth surface.
Once the Art Resin has been levelled,
air bubbles will start to form on the surface.
We recommend using our ArtiStorch brush to remove the bubbles
and achieve a perfect result.
Just keep the brush a few centimetres away from the surface
and keep it constantly moving more or less like you're pulling a cloth.
Remove any hairs or dust particles with a toothpick.
Cover the part to protect it from dust and let it sit overnight.
In about 24 hours, the piece will be hardened to the touch.
After 72 hours, it will be completely hardened.
Don't forget that the hardening time will be shorter in a warmer room.
To clean and reuse the tools used to mix,
clean them immediately after use with a paper towel.
Wet them with alcohol to massage or dewater
and clean them again for a thorough cleaning.
If necessary, clean the skin with water and soap.
If you have applied tape to the base of your work,
carefully remove the tape no later than 24 hours after pouring.
Et voilà! Admire your beautiful creation!
