PSG's dreams to lift the Champions League trophy were once again shattered. Seems like this
particular milestone will not be conquered by one of the richest, most ambitious and glamorous
football clubs. MMN trio will most likely disband next summer as new coach will arrive, while the
team will be preparing for a large-scale squad revolution. Let's face it, PSG's stellar project
proved to be a failure. But don't worry, a reboot is coming, a global reboot even, both in terms of
mentality and planning. In today's episode of Football Club, we are gonna break down how PSG
managed to reach the crisis point of no return. Folks, support this video with a like, thus it'll

content. In the comments below, write what timings Paris Saint-Germain need to make in order to
achieve great success in the next season. Without further ado, we proceed to start. Let's get going!
PSG looked completely hopeless during the second-leg clash against Bayern Munich,
and let's find out what were the main reasons for that. The main problem in this particular game
was in the team's movement and ball progression. PSG did a terrible job of delivering the ball
in positional attacks. In most cases, the team switched to four-centre-backs, as Verratti
dropped to the main three. As a result, all of them ended up on one line, and no good options
were available up front. In circumstances like these, it's quite difficult to progress the ball,
to say the least. PSG had no reaction to Verratti's drops. Moreover, having Ramos and
Marquinhos famous for their good passing, the very intention of dropping back were rather questionable.
Sometimes things became even worse. Five players were forced to be pulled back at once,
eventually finding themselves lower than any Bayern footballer. For example, here is Ruiz
and Verratti's positioning along with the defenders. And here is the version with Messi
involved. Still not possible to progress further, no wonder we saw total passivity.
The pass map perfectly captures mentioned problems of the red and blues at the initial stage of the
clash, which is from the first to the 35th minute. Low-block passing combined with wings, plus a
lonely Mbappe in front. The rest took turns in dropping back and trying to help, but none of
could significantly improve the struggles of ball progressing. To some extent, PSG achieved the
unimaginable. Messi dropped deep to progress, though amid lack of options, he simply returned
the ball to the defenders. The best moments came either after set-pieces or in chaotic situations.
For example, De Ligt's goal-line clearance came after PSG's unsuccessful clearance
and chaotic pressing afterwards. Hakimi put pressure on Sommer.
There were no permanent sources of threat. PSG were not at the level required by the
Champions League. Sergio Ramos claimed after the game and it's hard to disagree with him.
To be honest, I'm delighted PSG have gone out. I am. I just don't like the whole setup.
It's just a mess. They spent more money than anyone. They've got the best players in the world.
But it just tells you how important it is to be a team. We love individuals within a team,
but that's not a team, honestly. The sooner Mbappe joins Real Madrid,
the better. He has got to leave that club. Jamie Carger told CBS Sports.
Kylian Mbappe provided an even better evaluation of PSG's current state.
When we look at the state of the two teams, Bayern Munich have a team built to win the
Champions League. During the first Champions League press conference, I said that we were
gonna do our best and give our maximum. And our maximum is this. It's the truth.
We are gonna question ourselves and go back to our day-to-day life in Liga 1.
PSG are truly a unique case of gigantic resources being in the hands of disastrous management.
The most suitable formation aimed for balancing the current squad lies in a trio of defenders.
Keep in mind, the Parisians do not even have enough centre-backs. You know why? Obviously
not because of lack of resources, but because of how they were disposed of. A local problem
within a large one. Basically, PSG roster can boast of three centre-backs. Sergio Ramos,
Marquinhos and Prince Elkim Pembe. There are also Danilo Pereira, defensive midfooter,
and Nordin Mukiele right back. Forced options with little experience as centre-backs.
Not enough to get through the whole campaign consistently, don't you agree?
PSG finished the battle versus Bayern having the trio of Danilo, Ramos and Bichabu, a 17-year-old
Champions League debutant. Thanks to key investments in superstars, a very specific
type of superstars, the Red and Blues became hostage to concepts of balancing, instead of
building a modern team. But even within these concepts, the coach may find it objectively
difficult to adapt because the roster is too uneven to manage. Can this justify second place
in the group stage and knockout in the round of 16? No, unfortunately. The argument about transfers
and salaries costs can't be applied to any other compliance. Was it possible to foresee problems
with the first powerful opponent? Yep. Mbappe was right that we've seen PSG's maximum at the moment.
Again, this fact alone doesn't justify the Parisians, but, on the contrary,
emphasizes the scale of the disaster. For an even bigger picture, we can summarize how
inefficiently the Qatari owners invest crazy money in the team. Let's quickly recall the history of
their transfers. Qatar Sports Investment bought PSG back in 2012, setting the key goal we all know
to win the Champions League. In that season, 151 million euros were spent,
but the team got knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing to Barcelona. 2013-14 season and 136
million euros spent got knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing to Chelsea. 2014-15
season and 16 million euros spent got knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing to Barca.
2015-16 season and 85 million euros spent got knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing
to Man City. 2016-17 season and 135 million euros spent got knocked out in the round of 16 after
losing to Barca. 2017-18 season and 238 million euros spent got knocked out in the round of 16
after losing to Real. 2018-19 season and 267 million euros spent got knocked out in the round
of 16 after losing to Manchester United. 2019-20 season and 95 million euros spent
suffered a defeat in the final against Bayern Munich. 2020-21 season and 65 million euros spent
got knocked out in the semifinals after losing to Manchester City. 2021-22 season and 70 million
euros spent got knocked out in the round of 16 after losing to Real Madrid. At last,
season 2022-23 with 110 million euros spent and got knocked out in the round of 16 after losing
to Bayern Munich. In total, 1,412,000,000 euros spent. No Champions League cups won.
Nasser Al-Hilafi was fed up after the humiliating knockout from Bayern Munich and according to
Relevo, the official is already preparing a major squad renovation. First of all, Al-Hilafi will
replace head coach Christoph Gautier. The PSG president is disappointed with the work of sports
director Luis Campos too. The club isn't sure about his summer transfer tactics, which did not
bolster the team according to the board and Persians main man Kylian Mbappe. Thomas Tuchel,
Jose Mourinho, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Henrique are among the possible new candidates to take up
the coaching duties. As for this moment, the main favorite for the role is Thomas Tuchel.
Napoli forward Victor Osman, Man City midfielder Bernardo Silva and Muniers,
Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen and Marcus Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach
have been listed as potential signings. The first newcomer is already on his way.
We are talking about intro centre-back Milan Skriniar. His arrival is exactly what was needed
because elite centre-backs are in demand in the French capital.
Apparently, Sergio Ramos will quit the project in the summer.
Among other star departures, the moves of Messi and Neymar are certainly the most discussed.
Leo Steele has not penned a new deal and is unsure of Parisians' perspectives,
while Ney has annoyed everyone with frequent injuries and indisciplined behavior. Nothing new
The club finally came to think that it's necessary to build a team, not a dream team. They have
already passed those days. Thus, the Red and Blue's journey may be very interesting to follow in the
near future. The focal point of the summer is whether Kylian Mbappe will leave the club,
with football legends such as Thierry Henry and Jamie Carter openly tipping the lead to
exit Paris Saint-Germain and finally compete at the elite level. Kylian Mbappe himself seems
very cautious about his future and is not sure whether he will stay in the team for the next
season. At least, that's what he said after the Bayern clash.
My future after the Champions League exit? I'm calm. The only thing that matters to me this
season is to win Ligue 1 and then we'll see. At the moment, I'm only talking about this season.
We still have tasks to do. Do you think Mbappe will be able to
leave the golden cage this summer or will PSG succeed in keeping him there longer?
As they already did once. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
In other words, the PSG project led by the stellar Emma Mann miserably failed,
so new times are coming to the Parc des Princes. Folks, we hope you enjoyed watching this video
