People deluded I'm back again.
Come on Ian.
People deluded I'm back again.
I have to say Cecil that shirt is wavy
but yeah, wavy shirts, wavy performances,
Champions League got dealt with.
I saw your Sky Sports video.
You said we were confident.
And yeah, but even though you said we're confident,
you must have been surprised by yesterday, Brodsky.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I predicted,
I didn't really get my prediction
because it was overrunning on Sky,
but I said, I said 1-0.
I didn't actually expect,
a lot of people were saying
when I was with the fans yesterday,
they were saying it was going to,
well, Turkish and Tosun and Gunali were like 3-1, 3-0.
I went with that as well.
Yeah, I would swear as well, yeah.
Yeah, I thought we'd concede.
I can't lie.
Yeah, I think people were a bit more confident than I was.
I was confident in my team that we'll win the game.
I said not how much,
but I wasn't going to say two,
well, threes or fours,
but you know what?
I was surprised because of,
really it's the home thing for me still.
I can't get my head around at home.
We sometimes leak goals
and I don't know what it is.
I feel like when we're away from home,
we're so dominant,
maybe not in Europe,
but definitely in the league.
So I was quite surprised by a 2-0 win,
but I was pleasantly surprised.
I mean, a 2-0 win,
I think us fans can't complain with that
against PSG, bro.
It's a good result.
You know, people might water it down,
but do you think it actually helped that?
Obviously, you know,
when you think of PSG,
you think of the players that aren't there,
you know, the Neymars, the Messis,
the Mbappes, et cetera.
You know, Osman Dembele had a little bust up
with the coach and he wasn't there.
I actually think it makes PSG better
because obviously you need that stardust.
We saw in this very competition
why you needed that last year.
But I do think it helps them
because they played like a team.
I just think they got overrun.
For me, it felt like boys against men,
which I wouldn't think that with PSG.
Now, I know they've got young players,
et cetera,
but I think we did well, man.
I think, you know,
we haven't really seen our high press
since Odegaard's gone.
We pressed high.
Can't accuse a single player
of not being on it yesterday.
Obviously, we got the goals.
I'm shameless.
Saka scored a free kick.
The XG is probably not the highest
from that angle.
So, yeah, man, I'm impressed, man.
But what do you make of
the individual things in the game?
Individual things in the game.
Let's break it down.
So, goalkeeper's fine, all good.
I said this on Sky as well.
Our strongest asset is our defence.
I mean, just in full capacity.
The whole picture of the defence
from the start and back four,
whether it's Timba, Calafiuri,
Saliba and Gabriel,
all the way through to what we have
in the depth in the area.
Tomiyasu.
I mean, there's Zinchenko.
He's not there at the moment.
Zinchenko, Kivio.
I'm going to forget.
So many people here.
There's so many.
Ben White.
There's a lot.
There's a lot of cover
throughout the back line.
And those players, for me,
they're the strongest back four
that I mentioned,
but they don't weaken the side massively.
As long as we don't lose
all four of them,
which is unlikely.
I think it's really good depth
to have in that position.
I think we scored goals
from there.
Gabriel, again,
he obviously didn't score yesterday,
but he scored many goals
from centre-back.
And defensive-wise,
we had a clean sheet yesterday
and just they're so solid at the back.
So, very, very, very individually,
very happy with our defenders.
I think that will...
People say defence
win you leagues and titles,
and let's hope this is the case
because for me,
I think we have the best,
if not...
Definitely in Europe,
but if not in the world at times,
because as a whole back line
or partnership,
whatever you want to do it as,
I think we're so solid.
I really can count on our back line
going into midfield.
Partey,
question marks were over him a lot,
but he had a really good game yesterday.
I think he's been good
for a minute now,
if I'm honest.
Yeah, he has actually.
I was going to say,
he might have been sloppy,
but he hasn't actually been sloppy
for a while.
He hasn't been sloppy for a while.
You're right, Deluded.
So, happy with Partey.
Rice in there was good as well yesterday.
Trossard is a revelation.
I kind of...
Some of the flicks Trossard was doing
was ridiculous.
Crazy, bro.
And his feet,
he's actually got...
He's technically very gifted as well.
I think there's times
when he's really enjoying himself,
you can see the confidence in him.
You see he does little footwork
and all that.
So, I really like it.
I think...
I said a revelation
because he's good on the left,
but I think in this position,
he is really good.
I'm not saying he's going to overtake
Martin Odegaard.
That's not going to happen
when he returns.
Martin Odegaard goes back in there.
But what Trossard's doing
with the pressure of,
you know,
filling Martin Odegaard's boots
is sensational.
So, I'm really happy with him.
And in the front three,
Martin Lely and Saka.
Martin Lely...
I love the performance.
He's good, man.
Yeah, I'm still...
I'm still like...
He does so much defensively
and I'll give him the credit for that.
So, I'm not going to get
onto him too much.
But I need...
Because Saka does so much defensively,
he actually spoke about this on CBS
with Thierry last night.
He says like,
thank you for recognising to Thierry
how much work they do
going backwards as well.
Because back in the day,
obviously,
you wanted to be on the ball
in the, you know,
four positions
and just be able to enjoy yourself,
express yourself.
But in this Arsenal team,
he said we have to work
so hard defensively.
But that's...
It's working.
We can't really argue against it
because we're winning games.
So, but he goes,
I appreciate you guys recognising.
And I recognise Saka
does work so hard backwards.
But he also
is so
stat padding
when it comes to going forward.
He gets assists or goals on the board.
Martin Lely
works so well defensively,
but he needs to get that consistency
as well as going forward
when it comes to,
you know,
taking those big chances.
However,
Martin Lely,
I'm not going to say too much.
And Havertz,
flood the L, man.
I'm so wrong, bro.
That was a ball from Trusser
and a lovely header from Havertz, man.
I've been so wrong about him, brother.
Actually,
and I can admit that
flip-flop,
whatever you want to call it.
Same.
I didn't think he was...
I wasn't one of them Arsenal fans
that was mad against it,
but it was more like
I'm putting my faith in Arteta.
I don't know how this works.
And you know yourself,
we took a while to get here.
But even me,
I can't sit here and say
I'd see Havertz doing this,
like completely displacing
Gabor Aziz.
So, I mean,
at least you can say it.
We can both say it.
We're wrong and that's what
you want to be wrong about.
We're armchair experts.
Arteta's the man that makes
the difference,
even with David Rye.
A lot of people didn't want
Ramsdale binned,
who we're going to see on Saturday.
It's working, isn't it?
Yeah,
and I think Saturday's
going to be interesting as well.
Yeah, with that,
because two goals...
He's going to turn into a big fun, man.
Trust me,
he's going to turn mad.
He does rise.
He does like those occasions.
He'll do his shit-hours
as well.
But I just think
someone said on the...
I was hosting a matchday
live yesterday.
The watchdog people said,
like,
oh, it's going to be sad
to see him hold six.
I'm like, rah,
that probably won't happen,
but if that does,
that is mad, but...
I've got a lot to say.
Once you cut the mask,
that's your business, man.
One love Ramsdale.
After the game,
get my pint.
Safe.
We need these three points.
We're fighting City, bro,
and these are the games
we need to win.
I won't lie,
off-topic,
but against PSG,
when we went two goals up,
I was happy.
I was ecstatic,
but I thought to myself,
I know the context
is different, bro,
but then I thought,
oh, you know what?
Last Saturday,
we went two goals up.
I don't want to see
that drama today, man.
Do you know what?
There was a...
See, Arsenal fans,
we do this, though.
We are...
Especially on the matchday live,
we got hypercritical
when it was,
like you said,
2-0 the second half.
We saw...
They had a lot of possession
throughout the whole game,
if I'm being honest.
They had more possession
throughout the whole game,
but that second half,
especially towards
the last 30 minutes,
it was like,
well, we're holding on here,
but when I took myself
out of it and looked back at it,
and I was like,
do you know what?
It's probably what
Arsenal wanted to do.
I mean, 2-0 up is not...
We're not 2-0 up.
It's a comfortable result.
Dangerous.
Yeah, people say
it's a dangerous scoreline,
but it's comfortable for them,
I think, in that stage
because they knew,
look, if we concede one,
it could get a bit techie,
but we can hold out.
They haven't really been
threatening with their possession.
They had a lot of the ball
through the whole game.
They're huffing and puffing.
Exactly.
And yes,
there was times
where I was like,
oh, my God, they're on us,
but we were actually...
I feel like I was actually
in control as much as...
I think our tactics
in post-match press conference
in the second half,
there was things I had to look at
when it comes to control
of the game,
but I didn't ever really feel
like they were going to score
as much as I...
I'll be honest.
I was being like,
why are we doing this again?
This is like Leicester.
They're coming back into it.
I was doing all that,
but that's just the emotional
side of me in the game,
and because I've got PTSD
from two seasons ago,
the Liverpool comeback
after 2-0
and West Ham...
I had those little moments
in me,
and it happened,
like you said,
at Leicester as well.
Obviously,
we won the game
in the end 4-2,
but there was that moment
of second half like,
why can't we just go on
and score more goals
and kill the game?
That's why I was so on Martinelli
for missing that opportunity
because I was like,
brother,
we could really put this to bed,
but when the game finished,
I was like,
was it worth
all that stressing?
Maybe it was.
Maybe it's something
to look at in the future.
Maybe it's something
to earwig
and mark down
to say,
look,
in the second half of games,
even if we're winning,
we need to learn
to punish things,
but at the end of the day,
we won 2-0.
We didn't concede
and we saw out the game.
It's a professional,
it's PSG,
it's a Champions League game,
PSG,
and on top of that as well,
sorry to go into this as well,
like,
I don't know if it,
I don't want to say
it's fatigue,
fatigue,
but I could see the players
not really wanting
to overexert
with bursting forward
and going for killer runs
and trying to kill.
I think they were just like,
listen,
there's a game on the week,
like,
we have to manage minutes
and it's the same with Timba.
When Timba come off,
I found out later on
that I was panicking
at that stage.
Yeah,
he felt something,
but he didn't know
how serious it was
and Mikel Arteta said,
it's not worth risking.
Yeah,
precautionary,
let's just get you off
and I rate that
and the team probably
are understanding
how to,
it's early on in the season,
they've got to manage minutes,
the international break's coming up.
Let's not really go,
like,
if we're winning 2-0,
if I was on that pitch,
I'll be thinking,
I'm just doing
what I would be thinking.
If I was on that pitch,
I'm thinking,
brother,
man could go
and try and run
and light up,
but I could lose it.
They could come at us
and they could concede here.
Why don't I just
preserve myself,
let's just sit into shape
and get the job done
and I think
that's what they thought
and I think
that was a professional,
smart way of playing
because at the end of the day,
we won,
three points,
got a game against Southampton,
not everyone's overexerted,
we're in a nice place,
man,
so I'm happy with the performance.
I think you're
banging on the money
in that,
in the first half,
I think we were flying,
we're out the waters,
you know,
we're pressing high,
as we said,
we had them all in our half,
you know,
Califurian timber,
a joy to watch,
everybody really,
I can't accuse a single player,
as you said earlier,
you know,
with the work
Sacra and Mortinelli do,
they're our first,
I always say,
them attackers,
they're our first defenders,
Rye is our first,
they're our first defenders,
so Rye is our first attacker
and I think Rye's distribution
was good,
I loved that playing out
from the back.
Second half,
it's just about being
street smart,
man,
it's like the very thing
that they hate about us
in this league
or Indian thingy
that we're defensive,
we'll say,
come and break us down,
I agree with the point
you made in,
it looked like there was
fatigue and needing
to manage the game
because I personally
think I saw that
with Trosser,
I think Trosser was
electric in the first half,
probably giving the ball
away a bit cheaply
and then you don't want
to turn it into a contest,
I think we were just
thinking,
you know,
at 2-1,
we probably still
back ourselves
to see out the game
but then they get excited
and then PSG gamble
and say,
do we try and make it 2-2
in the pursuit of conceding
a third?
That's where we kind of
go for it,
so I'm happy with it.
What do you make
of our full backs?
Because I'm sure
you've answered this,
you know,
we've said it before,
us Arsenal fans,
we're new to this depth
thing,
you know,
Benjamin White's not
been there,
Califuri and Timber
was amazing in the first
half,
Califuri actually went
right back in the second
half,
do you think
Califuri and Timber
is our first choice
pairing now?
Because Arteta did
speak about natural
footers.
I want to say yes,
yeah.
Maybe it's other
people's outrage,
people really love
Ben White,
you know,
on the panel
he's lit.
Yeah bro,
they were like,
they were so
arguing for Ben
White,
like brother,
you cannot forget
him,
they understand
that right now
everyone's place
is in question
because we've got
so much quality there.
I love Ben White
but I'll tell you what,
Timber,
he's for me
one of my favourite
players.
Yeah bro,
he's just got
everything,
he's powerful,
he's up,
and the aggression
in his game,
I like Ben White
with his dark arts
but you see,
Timber,
he's on it bro,
like,
you can't,
there was one
moment,
yeah,
he had the ball
and he's had his
armour,
he said yo,
like the PSG
players,
he said chill
brother,
and he just
turned around
and then passed
back,
the other way
I said yeah,
like,
you can't
ramp with him
and I have a tiny
bit more
love for him
because he's
come back from
an ACL injury
which is a
life,
it's a life
changing injury,
I don't care
what anyone
says,
I know
nowadays,
I know
nowadays
we've got
such the best
team doctors
and surgeons
and stuff,
but like,
that injury
affects every
player,
especially when
you're a
defender because
you have to go
in for duels
and battle,
he's just
unfazed,
his redemption
art for me
is sick,
not to say
he was bad
before,
but like,
it's just such
a big injury
and you come
back into
this team
and you're
just on it,
you're on
everything,
you're on
getting forward,
you're on
battling,
you're on
smoke,
Timber for me,
he keeps that
vision,
whether he
becomes a
starting left
back and
Ben White
goes right
back when he
returns,
I don't know,
but it's too
early for me
to say
Califuri is
destined to
be that number
one spot in
the left
back position,
but I see
it happening,
because of the
goal against
City,
I see he's also
on it as well,
he's on beef,
I like that.
A bit too
passionate at times,
I love him,
but a bit too
excited.
He can be,
he can be,
but I do like it
a little bit,
I like that
passion a little
bit,
and I like the
way he gets
forward,
so right now
I need to see
a little bit
more of him
in that position,
I think he's done
well scoring
against City,
I think that
cemented him
a little bit,
but if I see
a little bit
more of that
going forward
as well,
and him taking
shots and
creating chances,
and getting
some assists
on the board
and whatnot,
he might
hold,
for me,
hold that
position,
which will
make Califuri
be my number
one left
back and
Timber my
right back,
but if not
I think it'll be
Timber left
back and then
Ben White right
back,
but these are
good problems,
and even
yesterday,
funny enough,
we discussed
this,
and we said
like,
Guru Lee was
saying about
Tomiyasu,
one-to-one
defending,
he's a machine,
for him he's
one of his
favourites,
so he's like,
I don't want
to even push
him out,
but for me Tomiyasu,
because of his injury
record,
I've kind of,
I don't want to say
moved past,
but it's starting to
irk me,
it's starting to vex
me a little bit,
it's the same with
Jesus,
it's the same with
the party,
it's not their
fault,
but listen,
we're going for
something big this
season,
so I need
man to fall in,
fall in line.
I think you're
bang on bro,
that's the thing
with Tomiyasu,
I must admit,
I'm losing
patience,
nothing to do
with his ability,
it's just your
availability,
it's just like
Thomas Partey,
there's several of
these players,
I think people even
let Zinchenko get
away with it,
because Zinchenko
doesn't go away
for a while,
it's a little one,
two,
three weeks,
and then he's
back,
he's not really
a lengthy layoff,
and I don't know
what it is,
but Tomiyasu
seems to always
come back before
the international
break,
I don't know if
he'll go off to
Japan and play for
Japan,
but then the cycle
continues.
That's what's
jarring,
it's like,
you're going to
be fit,
but are you
going to stay
fit?
This is the issue.
Speaking of injuries,
I want to ask you
about Mikel Moreno
as well,
what did you make
of him?
He didn't have
too long
on the field.
Yeah,
he didn't have
too long,
literally,
funny enough,
just before
coming on as
what we have
to do,
I listened to his
interview as he
left the stadium
yesterday and he's
in the mix zone,
he was talking about
it'd be easy on me
press,
my English isn't
great,
but he was just
saying how
obsessed Arsenal
are,
and the
training,
he said it's
the first time
he's been at
a club where
he's learning
constantly new
things,
like the way
they play,
the way
Arsenal
train,
he wouldn't give
away too much,
the media will
press him,
so what,
I can't give away
too much,
but it's every
detail of the
game,
they're obsessed
with it,
and we're
constantly
looking over
things,
so I like that,
I think he will
bed into the
team well,
when I saw him
yesterday,
defensively he
looked really
good,
I saw
he made
challenges,
as they were
breaking PSG,
and there was
an extendo
leg move,
and I was
like,
he's here to
defend,
getting used
to playing
forward and
getting used
to the
patterns,
I think
it's going
to take a
bit of
time,
but he
looks like
the real
deal,
maybe because
I haven't
seen so
much of
him yet,
I may not
know,
he's going
to be the
starting
midfielder,
I still
think it's
not going
to be as
quick as
everyone
expects,
I think it's
going to
take a
bit of
time,
maybe I
could be
wrong,
I think
he's on
such good
form as
well,
I think
he's going
to be
a lot of
people are
saying that,
but what I
saw yesterday
was glimpses,
he could
start
against South
Hampton,
I'm
going
mad,
but I
expect
Piety to
start there
and maybe
get rotated
out even
at half
time,
but I was
happy with his performance. I was, I was, I was, I, I didn't see too much frailties.
I wanted to see more heading from him though, because he's, he's known as like the man with
a king of flickering.
Yeah, Arsenal fans have been waffling about the aerial wins.
All of that, yeah. And I was watching that, I was specifically looking out for that. And
I didn't see him really get involved in too many of the headers, but maybe the ball wasn't
there enough in the, in the little time he had, but I was, I was trying to see if anything
happened there and he wasn't, he definitely wasn't going for the headers then, but we
may see that in the future and hopefully so, because we scored a lot of goals from set
pieces.
I think you made a great point in that, you know, I don't think he's necessarily going
to just, he's fit now. You just jump in the first team. I think people need to allow the
fitness. He's lacking fitness. He's not kicked a ball for Arsenal prior to yesterday. And
it's a weird one because I do think naturally Moreno, Odegaard and Declan Rice would be
the first choice in midfield. But as you kind of alluded to Dan, I agree. If you was dropping
one of them out now, I don't think you'd drop Partey. Actually, you think Partey's been
better than Rice. Now I would rather drop Partey because Rice is Rice. I don't want to
drop him. You make me a lot more comfortable, but I think Partey would be the one to stay.
Where I would keep Rice is, I want to see Rice go back to the six. I'm not, I don't
know how you look at it. Big him up for this eight stuff, but I think you need to just
be our Rodri, just be the six, be our bread and butter. You still contribute going forward,
but I'll tell you this eight thing is, it's not really happening. Like, even if I'm honest
down the left-hand side yesterday, Rice was good, but it's like, Califuri was good. Martin
Eddy was doing his thing, but it feels like something's missing there.
Yeah, no, I'm with you. I think as well, Havertz leaned more to the right side as well. He's
really linking up with Saka and really, really was helping him down that side. You're right,
the left side still feels a bit disjointed and I feel like Mikel Moreno was kind of brought
in to tie up that side anyway. That's what everyone was talking about when he first arrived,
was kind of, yeah, the Xhaka replacement in a sense of helping, being able to link up
the left side. I did actually, I did think he was going to play in the six and then let
Rice and Odegaard play. But now thinking about it, yeah, I wouldn't, I just want to, I want a
six that just allows the two in front just express themselves. Odegaard does that anyway. I want,
and I know we are so, we're so focused on defending even, especially out of possession,
of course, but like as part of our attack as well. But like, I want a team where you can just
have a six that just breaks everything up and then just let the attackers go and enjoy. Yeah.
But I don't think, I don't think the way Arsenal move, I don't think that's what I'm going to get.
I was so fixated on that, especially when Mikel Mourinho arrived. Mourinho, I remember doing the
welcome video and being like, listen, I just wanted a solid six. But now I think you're right.
With Declan Rice, he kept talking about, you know, I'm learning a new position. I'm learning
I'm learning so much. Brother, you're so good in the six back in the day as well. Just stick
to the position. It's not, it's not his fault because our team is obviously telling him,
I want you to play here, but you're right. I want him in the six as well.
Yeah. I just need him where you're most comfortable and that's where you're most
comfortable. That's what you've known. And you're good at it. Just, just stick to it. Like,
I don't see you. I see you so good defensively. Anyway, you don't see him get forward as much
and score as many goals as probably an eight would like. I know it's hard to judge him because he
does so, so many good things defensively, but yeah, just stick. I'd like to see you stick to
the six and then let, yeah, let Odegaard and Mikel Mourinho link up the both sides. Odegaard always
leans to the right side. Anyway, Mikel Mourinho can help bring Martin Ely more, hopefully back
on form as well, because he needs more of that link up, link up down that side. So it'd be
interesting. That's a good point. I didn't actually, I didn't look at it as remove Bryce,
but it could do, it could do be beneficial for the team as well. Yeah. Part of it stays in the
six and they put Mikel Mourinho in the eight and then, and then Odegaard in the, in the eight as
well. I know it'd be Trossard now, but when Odegaard returns, something to consider. Actually,
sorry to delude. I'm now my brain. This is why you're here.
Because Trossard is so, that's why I said, I have kept going to the right yesterday and helping
sack up. That's because Trossard is so left-sided dominant. So when he's in that 10 roll,
or he's picking up the boy, he's going to look to feed Martin Ely in that. So then when
we play Southampton, having two left-sided thinkers, Mikel Mourinho, if he goes in eight
and he got Trossard there, it might, might throw the balance off. I don't know. I feel like he'll
try and keep, he might put Bryce to the, to the right eight and then Trossard to the left eight.
I don't know. We'll see. But that, that's how I think, that's how I'm thinking right now, because
we've got, you've got to get both sides of the pitch working together. I think Artez,
get that balance back. Yeah. He's fixated on that. You can tell that by left footed centre,
left sided, left footed centre backs. You know, he's fixated on these things. Sorry,
people. This is a lot of deep diving into. No, man. This is why you're here.
I don't want to do all this. I want to just keep it, try and keep it simple and just, yeah. But
yeah, my brain, when you're looking at balance, I think balance is so key for this team. I think
that's what we're looking at. But once everyone's fit, I think we might see what you mentioned
there. Maybe put, yeah, someone, we've been rising a six or a lone six over with two attacking
midfielders. But we'll see. We'll see. Before we get onto the Southampton game, we have to go back
in time to Leicester, man. Let me know your thoughts with Leicester. Like, mad, complete
madness. The good, bad and somewhat ugly. It was, yeah, good, bad and the ugly, bro. Like,
I don't know. It's annoying because they're a newly promoted side. Yes, they've been in the
but it was just, it was frustrating to see us just, just, let's not even switch off because
some would say it is, but I just think we got too comfortable and it's a trait I've seen.
Yeah, we do that and I get annoyed at it, right? But I've been on a pitch where it's so hard as a
human to not just be like, brother, we're 2-0 up. 2-0 up, you're winning, it's calm. You know,
you're better than them as well. Exactly. I see Saka putting it through man's legs. I see Trossard
doing, like, you know, when you lift up the leg and fading man. Yeah, yeah. They're enjoying it
and I love that. Pre-season vibes in the first half, really. Exactly, exactly. And as a fan,
we love to see that, but then you see what happens in the second half where two, it is,
okay, it's sort of a lapse of concentration. They're just, one's an amazing goal,
like an amazing bit of play. What a volley. The first goal just slipped my mind. It was,
ah, my head just slipped my mind. I think James Justin scored a header on like,
what, like 90 seconds, maybe that into the first, second half?
The second half, James Justin obviously scored the volley. What a banger. And then,
yeah, I think it was a header as well. So like... Yeah, he got a brace.
Yeah, so, oh, he got a brace. Okay, so cool. So that was...
I thought indeed, when I was watching, I thought indeed he got the header, but when I watched the
game again, it's actually James Justin. I was like, right, that scored two goals. I'm proud of
him as a full-back, bro. Mad team. So, yeah. But then again, those goals, it felt like they
came out of the blue. We had a lot of possession, but I thought I would take them out after them.
Like, they got back in it. I fought towards the dying embers of the game. I thought, boy,
we could get a draw here. Two-two in the 90th minute. It's crazy.
Crazy, bro. And it's not to say the title aspirations would have been over, but it's
just like, bro, this is Leicester. We've just been promoted and we...
Especially because City dropped points as well. That's not going to be said too many times.
That's exactly it. So I was just like, this could be the moment where, you know, we just,
we go through that hard Aston Villa away, Spurs away, we get a draw at City and a man are like,
yes, this is, we can't ask for too much more than this. Yeah. And then we go and drop points
against Leicester. But in the end, we come through it and, you know, truss out again.
Unreal. Like, I just think, and obviously we get the fourth as well. I was happy in the end.
It's riveting. This is what the Premier League is about. It teaches you a lesson as well. Not
that we didn't know this, but any team can cause you problems.
Like any team can cause you problems. So I was happy, but I'm aware that it's going to
be a long season ahead. Every game we've got to take serious and I am still questioning
the home form. It bugs me and yes, we won it, but I'm just like, what's different?
When I go away, I go to all the away games. I think I'm so, apart from City away, I was so
relaxed going to the away games. It's boring in a nice way for Arsenal fans. We just go there,
take care of business and come home. Or even if things happen, like in the City game,
there's that. I agree with you. And I said, ironically, like, it's mad that you came and
you kind of said what I said on my previous videos today. It's like, when we play in Europe,
I kind of fancy everyone at the Emirates. Away from home is a different thing. Premier League,
anywhere away from home, let's go. At the Emirates, boy, and that's the issue.
And then when you look at our fixtures, as you said, football isn't won on paper, but
Bournemouth away, Southampton, Leicester, them kind of teams. That was where our banana skins
were beyond the obvious last season. And we can't afford for that. Southampton,
we need to beat them both. Yeah, but they've caused us problems in the past. So it's like,
and it's at home games, but as much as I want to be all, yeah, Southampton, we should slap them.
It's that thing in me that's like... PTSD, man.
Yeah, at home, Southampton have been, they stopped us. I think we drew and lost against them,
lost at home and drew against them when they were in the Premier League last time and kind of stopped
our top four ambitions as well. So I'm a bit, well, I am a bit fearful of just, it's the home
thing. I don't know what it is. Like, I keep trying to think of everything. Is it the fans
when we sing so much when we're away? But I'm like, you're at home. Like, there shouldn't be
a bigger excuse to put on a show and you should feel comfortable here. But I don't know. It's
something I'm trying to wrap my brain around. I think it is that, you know. I think it is that.
Naturally, as you said, I can't say these players are complacent. They think games are won before
we go out there. But I think it is. I think, you know, there's nothing like playing in front of
your home fans. It's your manner. It's your house. The charting's going on. Naturally, I don't think
the players are necessarily taking it in. But I've fought this for a while now and I think that
performance against Leicester, in terms of conceding, that doesn't happen. Like, we're one
of the best defensive teams in the world or in Europe or the Premier League or whatever. We don't
concede the two goals in that manner away from home. I genuinely believe that. I just think it's
a natural complacency. I can't put my finger on exactly where it is, but I've seen our club
enough times. I genuinely think there's that natural bit of complacency. Well, maybe it's just
us. It's just what Arsenal is in that regard sometimes. But I don't know, man. What are you
saying? Go on, go on, go on.
For Saturday, yeah, because I was going to say, I don't know what it is either. But the more the season goes on, we'll find out. And yeah, it's just something to keep aware of, especially fans listening.
I know we do our predictions all the time and we say we're at home. I think people are just
supremely confident because of the Arsenal and all that. But then when you really look into it,
just try and deep. Home form hasn't always been the best and going away. And there's a feeling
when I go away. I don't have the feeling when I'm at the Emirates at times or when I'm watching
it from in the studio. So there's something there, but I'll figure out. But Saturday, hey,
now doing this and sitting with you speaking, I'm changing my whole mindset again. I'm actually
thinking more logically and saying, brother, do you make changes? Yeah, it's not going to be a
slapping. And then, yeah, I think Arteta is going to want to. I don't know if he's going to want to
rotate too heavily because some would say young Ethan could be a star. I don't I don't really
want to see two, three, four changes. I do think you can put a team out there and do things,
but I think people need to be respectful. But basically what you said about Southampton
being our bogey team, the complacency at the Emirates, the fact that anyone could be anyone,
the fact of, you know, I'm not being funny. We played on Tuesday, 48 hours to recover.
A strong team can go out there. We need to be winning these games, bro. But some would say
a young Ethan Mikel Moreno could play. Could Sterling get his first chance? Don't know what's
going on with Timbo. Would there be a change there? I think you're arresting, but I think
I don't want to see too many changes. I actually think, though, we have to be aware the main key
thing of this after this is an international break. So whatever happens, man, man can get to
rest unless they're obviously going to represent a respective countries. But those players that
I think Arteta can be wise to say, well, I can risk you because, yeah, you're going to get a
nice couple of weeks or so off. So I think that's very key as well. I don't even know that. Forget
that then. Strongest team out there. Forget everything else. Strongest team out there.
So that's why we're talking about rotation. I think Arteta has kind of adopted this season and
the fact that he puts a strong team out first and then looks to rotate, get the game done,
get the job done, see how the game's going. Then if I need to rotate and bring players that we,
you know, you want to see on, on, I'll do that because I even like, yes, I actually expect to
see Ethan Manieri. We didn't, but we saw Mars Lewis Kelly, which to me was a bit of a surprise.
We gave him small minutes, but he's used them to some big games now, man, or some high pressure
games. If you include Lester as well. Exactly that. But I don't want them to be thrown in.
Like you said, like I want to be thrown into start these games where if we do slip up,
it's a big issue. And then you're putting pressure on youngsters. And I know people
say, listen, they're ready. Just put them in. I just think go strong international break after
they get a rest and then start rotating early in the game. If, if need, if need be like you did
with Timber, you said on the precautionary, just get you off. Let's just save you. So
same with that. I just think go, yeah, go strong, but then rotate if need be. But yeah,
I am a little bit wary because of results against Southampton in the past. I think
they will come with these, these lesser teams. I don't want to be disrespectful to the saints,
but the lesser teams come to the Emirates on a big day out. They know what this is. They're
coming. They want to spoil the party. Ask them what their title challenges. Let's see how we
compare to them. You know, I want to, that's, that's how the teams and I understand that as
well. So don't, don't take that lightly. That's, that's the mindset. So you have to go show them
Arsenal stays like, I think you will know this, but go strong and show them. Yeah. They're coming
to try and take something. Let's not take the piss and yeah, exactly. Don't get caught slipping. So
yeah, man. I'm, I think, yeah, I think we'll win. I think we'll win. I'm just not going with it
with us, you know, like the back of last, last seasons, the fours, the fives, the sixes. I think
it would just be, I'm looking, I want to give you a score prediction now. I know it's, we're 30
minutes in. Go on, go on. That's a good way to end this. I'm going to go with the same score
line from last night. I'll be real. I think it's a 2-0. I was going to go 2-0. I was going to go
exactly the same. I was going to go, and it's mad because it's funny because I think we concede,
I just think, I always think we're going to concede at home, but I don't know what it is.
Yesterday we didn't concede. And then on top of that, I just think that I've got to back our
defence. I look at their strikers. I think they're attacking force. There's not really...
I don't want to diss Southampton, but they're needy. And again, as we said, you can't win it
on paper and that, but bro, their form's on the floor. I actually think they're very well coached
side. You know, it's a bit weird because ultimately they're not winning games, but
they're very well coached side. But nah, bro, there's levels. Smash them, as in get the 2-0,
get the three points. As you said, international break, keep it moving, man. 2-0, man. I'm going
back Ethan to school as well if he comes off the bench, I can't lie.
Right, is that you, Ethan?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you know what? I want something like that. Either him or Lewis Kelly,
man. I want one of the young G's to school, man.
Yeah, I want him to get a Premier League goal as well. That'd be unbelievable, especially
that. That'd be class. It'd be the first as well. But yeah, man, I'm going to go 2-0 as well. I mean,
that was literally the score I was going to go with. I just think that, yeah, I don't...
No, they are needy. I'll try not to...
They're needy, bro. Respect for Southampton. Come on, man.
Trust me. And people have been saying about Ramsdale as well, like he has been leaking...
They face a lot of shots, so there could be a mad scoreline. Don't get twisted. This could
go... This could be 2-0. It could go this way. They're not going to... I don't think... I don't
see them winning at all, Southampton. So it could be a draw. Unlikely. Could be a 2-0.
Comfortable professional win. Arsenal will see it out and they go to international break chilling.
Or it could be a complete drumming where Arsenal go mad and you see a five or whatnot.
We know Ramsdale, man. He's playing out from the back. We'll catch you slipping. Get on to him,
man. Like there's no friends in that game.
That's it. And if... I remember watching Southampton. I remember watching one of their
managers adamant to play out from the back. Yeah. Adamant. Whatever happens. But he...
Ramsdale looks nervy, but it's not actually just him. It's his players. Ramsdale, I could see...
When I watched that game, he was like, he doesn't want to play out from the back, but he knows
it's his manager's orders and he has to. But he didn't look comfortable in doing it. And then
they got caught. So they got caught slipping a few times, actually. So you're right.
Rough two games, really.
Yeah. I think with our press, I'll be intrigued to see if they go out and play out from the back
every time. But if they do, I mean, shoot.
It's a double whammy because if you go long, one thing I like about us, we've got physical players.
So it's not like the early Emirates era where if you went long, respectfully, you've got
like five foot, like my height, five foot eight, five foot six players. You've got six foot four
demons. Nah, man. We need to smash these lot. Respectfully to Southampton. We've got Liverpool
coming up at the end of the... Towards the end of the month. You need that insurance policy.
I need wins, man. I'll only give you the capacity to lose one game. And that's Liverpool. And I
don't even want to lose that. I want to... I actually want to...
Liverpool away or home?
Emirates. Emirates.
OK, cool.
We've only got one loss in 2024. I challenge the boys to make sure that happens until the end of
the year. Like there's two months left of the year. Like I genuinely think we could do that.
And this season, in fact, you know, we'd be unbeaten for the first half of the year. Like
we need to get points on the board, man. I'm not going to lie. I know you can't really afford to
say stuff like this when you're fighting City and stuff.
Yeah. And November, bro, is a mad month.
Yeah. But bro, it feels like our year. Like Saku even said it, like you said on CBS,
that it feels like... Come on, like... I said this last season, but bro,
if we can't win it this year, then...
Bro, it's long, innit?
It's long, bro. Like we're doing everything well.
Yeah, no, Daloud, I'm with you. I can't keep going through this. You're right. If it's not
this season, brother, when? Like, come on, like, we can't keep doing this. And my thing was how
we got out of the first six games. And bro, I can't believe the results we got. Villa away,
Spurs away, wins, and then even City should have... In my opinion, we had 11 men. We should
have been a win as well.
11 men, we get three points.
That's what I'm saying. We got a draw there, but I'm happy with that. And then
Champions League, Atalanta in there as well. We got the draw, and then we're just beating PSG.
If it doesn't... I know it's early, but actually, to be... I even said if we... I said if we beat
all those three teams, Villa, Tottenham, and then Man City away, we win the league. Anyway,
very early. I know how long the season is. It's mad. But I actually said that on many platforms.
I'm still... I'm not there now because we got a draw, but I'm still not far from when is it
going to be our season because...
I can't wait to play City at our place, man.
It's going to be mad. And on top of that as well, like, we're dealing with... Odegaard's
out. Brother, we haven't had Odegaard since the second... Brother, look what's happening.
We're calm.
Look at our fullbacks. None of them are really fit. That's why I rate what they're doing more.
Facts. And then Mikel Mourinho, a new sign and a sign that, you know, is supposed to take us to
another level as well. Listen, it's not the glamorous shiny toy sign, but it was a sign that
would help us dominate more and suffocate teams. He's been away. And we're calm. How
virtuous is this? Like, when all these players... Obviously, Havoc's been scoring now. When these
players return and fully fit, like, towards mid-season, back of it, like, end of whatever,
whenever they come back and everyone's fully fit, no player's ever really fully fit.
Once they're back in the team, like, if we don't do it then and start purring and really
I don't know when we're going to win the league. So, yeah, man, it has to be this year, this season.
I'm glad Saki... I'm glad Thierry actually pushed him on getting an answer like that.
I didn't expect him to go and say that, but as he said, look, I'm putting pressure on my team, but
it has to be this year. And I respect that a lot as well. I'm glad you saw that as well, man.
Fingers and everything crossed. Cecil, if I let you get out of here, as usual, it's a pleasure.
Let people know where they can find you. Obviously, people, you know, you see them on AFTV and all that
good stuff.
Yeah, man. Cecil, C-E-C-I-L underscore J-E-E-E. If you want to find me,
you can find me. I'm about, you know, we're doing things over here, but yeah,
love to lead and make sure everyone watching subscribes and likes, and I appreciate all
the support as well. And people commenting and saying, you know, it's nice to see that you guys
enjoy me on this channel as well.
They love having you here, man. Like, that's why I'm always harassing you on WhatsApp. I'm like,
bro, the people are asking for you, bro.
I appreciate it, man. I appreciate it. Like I said, I'll try and make time. It's just these,
all my days off, I'll try and we'll try and make it work. But today it was,
it works, man. So love for that.
I appreciate that, man, dude. Again, in terms of where you can follow Cecil,
the man said it himself, check the description of the video if you're too lazy to actually
listen to what's being said. And on that note, Cecil and everyone, peace, man. Bless.
That kit is so nice, man, but peace.
It's wavy, man. I can't lie to you.
Nah, it's wavy.
