Aston Martin DB10 | Spectre | Car Chase in Rome
The car chases in the 007 series are no longer strange to the audience. And this time, it's a high-speed duel in two one-of-a-kind supercars — an Aston Martin DB10 and a Jaguar C-X75 — against the backdrop of historic Rome landmarks.
James Bond (Daniel Craig)'s first encounter with Specter's majestic assassin Hinx (Dave Bautista) kicks off this chase. Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz) notices Bond has infiltrated Spectre's secret meeting and sends Hinx to capture him. 007 escaped and used the Aston Martin DB10 without knowing its special features.
Rome posed the challenge of filming a car chase in one of the world's busiest cities. The rigors of filming required eight Aston Martin DB10s and seven Jaguars as the cars jumped and landed at 70 mph.
Aston Martin DB10 was specially developed for the James Bond film Spectre. It is a bespoke grand tourer from British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin. At the premiere of the 24th James Bond film Spectre, produced by Eon Productions, director Sam Mendes introduced the Aston Martin DB10 as "the first actor."
In the movie, James Bond stole an Aston Martin DB10 from 009 to go to Rome to investigate Spectre. The car is later destroyed in a chase with the assassin Hinx when Bond decides to get out before it plunges into the river. The vehicle has an unloaded rear machine gun, flamethrowers in the exhaust, ejection seats, and a music playlist for 009 to listen to.
On 19 February 2016, one of the two "show cars," the Aston Martin DB10, was sold at auction for £2.4 million.
