(Remix) Trophy Brook Trout Fishing At 11k Backpacking Remote Lakes / RZR 1000
(Remix)This is a shortened version of "Father Daughter Backpacking To Remote Wilderness Lakes For Brook Trout"
I'm willing to go to a lot of effort for the experience of catching a native brook trout. If that native is also trophy sized I'll go to twice the effort!
I love backpacking, but honestly the hiking aspect is a means to an end. The real draw for me is the camping experience once I arrive at my destination and I love when I can spend two nights giving me a full day to soak in the epic wilderness spot for which I worked so hard to achieve.
A big part of that camping experience is camp cooking using my Firebox Stoves. For these very high elevations trips I prefer using my Nano, which has been modified into the Overkill Nano. This mod can be achieved two ways, we make a kit that allows you to have two functioning Nano Stoves which can be combined into the Nano, but I prefer the DIY version which makes the Overkill with fewer parts and still allows two functioning Nano Stoves but one only has straight peg pot stand which works fine for the cookware I use. Here's a link to the product page which includes a video illustrating the details of both methods:

In this video I also use our new Ultra Cook Kit. In fact, I had just received the pre-production prototypes the day before the trip and had hoped that using them without first seasoning them would be okay, but it was clear that the seasoning is necessary to achieve cast iron like performance from this lightweight set.

In this video I'm using the 8" version. When camping with my family I use the 10"
